    Yes, those are little microphones in your headphones. They're used for noise cancelling. Great vid!

    I’ve got the same pair, much prefer to my wife’s QC30’s. I’ve replaced the headband and earcups which started to disintegrate and added a volume/mic cable. Good as new now.

      The new ones I have come in an annoying box, is a bit smaller, but you have to pack the headphones contorted. Also they rely on an another adaptor for the attenuation for air-plane use, one more thing to lose!

    It would be great to see a teardown of the Bose A20 noise cancelling aviation headsets to see how they work and are assembled.

    I Disassembled mostly everything and i can't seem to figure out the issue. I checked both positive and negative contact points for the battery back to the terminals, the continuity checks out, it appears to be working, therefore there is no loose cables or loose solder points. However, when i go to connect the battery the headset won't turn on. If i do plug the battery directly into the terminals via jumper wires it does, which continues to boggle my mind.
    I am interested in an alternative solution other than AAA batteries, if i choose to place a rechargeable lithium battery like the one you show on your video, what kind should i use? As in what voltage and or capacity as to not fry the board.

      @backofficeshow  2 роки тому +1

      Sounds like a mechanical issue with the terminals. I would still try to explore getting the regular cell working before the lithium. Perhaps polishing the contacts?

      @@backofficeshow upon further inspection looks like the negative contact spring might be the issue, i noted that it is slightly bent, but when i try to adjust it to a straighter position and close it down, it won't power unless keep my finger pressing down the flap that holds it close.
      I cleaned both contact points since they did have some slight corrosion and dirt. I'm a beginner when it comes to all electric and soldering but i have repaired a few things and there. I am wondering if there is a better way to ensure that the battery makes solid contact with the negative point without keeping my finger on it.

      Maybe you can buy one if those cheap spring sets or wind your own?

      @@backofficeshowi can maybe salvage one from other devices. I was mainly interested in the rechargeable lithium battery in case i can't make this work. The size seems to be the main obstacle .

      The voltage will also be a big problem they are more than twice the required voltage of the Bose and frankly hold less charge than a regular alkaline battery
