Thanks for the video. I hope really the EU enforces easy battery replacements by the manufacturer in the future. The amount of glue used in all of this electronic devices is annoying.
When I watch this video, I miss my QC15, when you just had to remove the battery from its external compartment without removing any earpad. The only tool you needed then was your nail. I guess this is progress.
my battery lasted 4 years. I am glad there are after market battery replacements. I beleive the battery replacement should be easier, and bose should be selling batteries for their own products. What they offered me, is tossing away my headphones, and buying new for 30% discount
What do you think about skipping the step where you open up the other side in order to de-solder the battery wires from the circuit board. Instead cut the wires at the battery and then use solder seal wire connectors to connect the new battery wires to the old wires?
these are so good, but I just can't count on the battery to last forever and have to do surgery on my pair just to keep them for longer. the xm4 and xm5 seem really tempting now. :(
Honestly, I prefer the Bose line of headphones. They got great noise cancellation and seem to be built to last longer. Sony’s are riddled with all kinds of issues.
I thinking about buying a qc 45 to try to fix it because it’s cheap, seller says, when charging a red and white light blink and it doesn't charge, the headphones won’t work, what would be the problem a battery issue or charger port damaged, would it be worth buying to fix it? Also another one the left side is dead is it easy to fix a dead headphone audio left side?
Tried following the steps and got a persistent hissing sound from the left ear cup after removing the ear pad and back plate (even with the original battery connected), Problem did not go away with the new battery replaced.. I could get the hissing sound off either by turning off ANC or placing a palm over the left ear cup... Is the headset toasted? Thanks
I am getting the white to orange flash when the USB-C is plugged in to charge. I thought the battery was dead, but it is testing at 3.750V which is full charge. I've done the firmware update via my PC and the Bose Web tool, and it is already on 4.0.4 (latest). The headphones do not power on (obviously seem to connect to the PC) but everything else is not working. Factory reset does not work either. Any thoughts on what I can try? They are out of warranty and the only thing Bose is offering is 10% off a new pair.
This is the reason I never buy expensive battery powered headphones...I might have to throw it away some day which is a bummer. If the speakers are still in great condition, and the battery is dead, why the need to throw it away??
My bose headphone QC45 is not working. When connect to charging its blinking yellow and white continuously. When switched off charging point though blinking for few seconds but when disconnect charging cable blinking stop. I tried to reset, so pressed power/blue tooth button and multi function button for more than 30 second but not able to reset the headphone QC45 or not blue light show.
they could have SO easily made this battery replaceable without all this hassle...shame on them. I am returning the pair I just bought after seeing this.
Wow! This is a total and absolute incompetent design. I always enjoyed Bose QC series but after watching this I'll never buy another one. They could have done it with an AAA battery instead. Really pathetic.
This is a joke. It’s intentionally built this way to just toss and replace the unit. I get it, if I owned Bose I’d run the company the same way to maximize profits/revenue

How often have you had to replace the battery in these bose qc45's?

Honestly they really need to design something more user friendly for self-repair it's not that hard

The battery should last way longer for 300 dollar headphones.

Hello,
Thanks for your question. You can do that if you prefer. Just make sure it’s well insulated after soldering the connections.
Thanks. 45 with new battery now, with your help.))
Nice work!

Thanks for the video. what does it mean if after attempting this, the status light flahses white and amber, and the headphone won't boot ?
Also how many charge cycles did you go through before replacing the battery
It's weird that they went this route. On my QC25 model I could just put in a fresh AAA battery.
Yeah, it was much easier on the earlier models.
What’s the model of battery you’re using? Is it a generic type or specific to the headphones? Newbie here btw 😊
It is our own CentralSound aftermarket battery.
In my case, my qc 45 is not getting charged. How to identify is that battery problem or any other problem ?
Hi-is this procedure applicable for the Ultra model as well?

do you know if there is any reliable place to get my headphone fixed?
Yes, contact us directly at info@centralsound.co
Both cups have similar compartments. The battery is on the left. And what is on the right??
What tools did you use for this?
Wouldn't this be so much easier if they just used a AAA battery like in my QC25.
do I need ONE or TWO battery for a headset?
Only one
