Pretty good art supply haul from the grocery store! It's like they knew I was coming and put out a bunch of great pens. The stationery department on the other hand, was a little lacking. I suppose if you're not planning on drawing, you'd be disappointed not to find lines in your notebook, so I can understand why those are more common.
Anyways, I'm happy to call it a success! I'll keep using the pens, but probably not the notebook, mostly because I have so many other better options, and it was only $9 anyways.

Peter, the fact that this channel is almost at 1 mil is so crazy. You've been doin this for years. I was watching your live streams IN CLASS while I was in college. You gave me some of the most impactful art advice I've received from an artist; "An artists greatest skill is thinking of reasons not to make art." And you have been nothing but a positive source of inspiration and creativity as well as comfort and Happiness. The world is a better place with you in it.

Decibels are logarithmic rather than simply additive. So doubling the decibels makes things MUCH louder. And nice drawing by the way. You always help me relax with your train of thought.

Not arguing just adding info. So the waves can make each other bigger and smaller depending on how they meet. So if in a room there are two speakers making the same monotone sound there are places in the room where its louder and where its quieter. Obviously rain is much more sources than two but yeah. Hope someone learnt something useful.

Decibels don't add up, but the higher frequency of many raindrops fills all of the spaces between the drops hitting, creating a din of sound with no breaks in it. Thanks for the talk and drawing.

Great artwork, of course, technical ability is on point. I guess maybe the point of the video or title missed me. Thinking the selected supplies did not seem out of the box or creative, But maybe that was not the point in gathering the supplies from the grocery store? IDK? Perhaps I misinterpreted the premise or had other expectations in my head. Just seemed like stuff you could find laying around your house or studio, and for some reason, in my mind, I had this idea of going to the grocery store to source non conventional supplies, like as a challenge in resourcefulness, Imposing creative constraints upon yourself or something. So perhaps it was just the title of the video that threw me off….

The human perception of loudness is not linear with respect to the decibel scale. To our ears, an increase of 3 dB is generally perceived as a noticeable but not necessarily significant increase in loudness. So, when you play two 5 dB sounds together, the combined loudness will be slightly more than a single 5 dB sound, but it won't be perceived as twice as loud.
    L_total = 10 * log10(10^(L1/10) + 10^(L2/10))
So, when you combine two 5 dB sounds, the total sound level is approximately 8 dB, not 10 dB

You can often find a gem in those stores. The last French made Bic in North America is the 4 color ballpoint. It’s fascinating to see the difference between European and Mexican production of ballpoints.
Actually they’re both good, the French has tighter tolerances but is dryer, the Central American version definitely lacks some polish and quality “20 cent vs $5” it’s to be expected. but the ink is super smooth and generous.

I think it's more of a percentage formula increase in decible change vs it doubling to 10. I think we'd prolly die if rain sounds doubled..
    The interweb says:
Based on formulas used for calculating decibels, doubling the sound pressure results in a 3 dB increase. Halving sound pressure results in a 3 dB decrease. In our example, two noise sources each producing 90 dBA combine to produce approximately 93 dBA.

Sound is additive, but it does not increase geometrically, two drops does not equal twice as much sound, in terms of dB. In recording, we generally say double the perceived volume equals 3dB, not double the dB. The relationship seems to be logarithmic, where small changes make almost no difference, but huge changes make very huge differences. Like the sound of waves in a pool vs waves in the ocean. The same phenomenon changes enormously with volume of water.
Also, a larger raindrop produces more sound on impact, just like striking a drum with a heavier stick produces more volume. Downpours are far noisier than drizzles because of mass of the drops, number of drops, and the number of things getting hit per second, and probably many other factors, like the density of the air and stuff.
    Rain is pretty cool.
Also Derma Rollers stimulate blood flow under the skin, which is supposed to make your skin healthier somehow. There is no way it's going to put hair follicles where there are none. Maybe it can stimulate ones that don't grow as fast, but I don't think women would use them if they promoted hair growth, and they are really only marketed to women.

The sound is additive, as you say it, but it doesn't double up like 1+1=2 Think of it like just one kid talking is just talking but the whole class talking makes it so much louder qualifying it to call it noise. Also, I noticed it many times, but as I'm commenting right now, I might as well include that you're recording your audio in Dual Channel Mono. It is basically stereo (Left and right Audio Channels) but since the input is single (one single mic) both the channels have the same information. It isn't a big deal but it makes the size of your audio file double than what you need. Try recording in mono. Just when you create a new Waveform in Audition select Mono rather that Stereo in the channels option. I don't know if you'll read it but if you do, do let me know.

believe it or not walmart actually carries decent drawing supplies but not in the school supply section. if you go to the arts and crafts section you can get decent sketchpads/books, pencils and graphic pens and alcohol markers probably the cheapest youll find around. the alcohol markers are prettt good for the cost and if you pair them with the marker pad they sell ots a good combo. the also sell a basic prismacolor set for a few bucks more.

I was doing some water color painting with my cat, and one of your videos came on in the background. I spent about 20 minutes with my brain saying “you know that voice.” I’m so glad to see that you started your channel a while back, and even more so that it’s taking off for you! Do you still have that orangish red Safari pen I gave you? I’m still out in the Winston area, hit me up sometime

Decibel measures the amplification of sounds... I'm not sure if that is an accurate explanation... but the natural occurring instance of a sound is measured at 1db... so amplification or reduction of sound is measured in decibels if that makes any sense.
