You helped me with the install of mine which was convenient. FYI you missed another clip halfway up the pigtail. Not sure if you attached it and didnt record you doing it or if you just missed it.
Great video, you have the same set up as I do. I have a 2020 army green TRD Pro with a DiamondBackCover and a deep bin for storage right behind the cab. I hope you are enjoying your DiamondBackCover and accessories as I am. I also installed my OEM led bed lights. They are great.
I saw this on the amazon site: "Additional Parts Required For Installation (If not Already Equipped): 1 of Deck Lamp Switch 84267-0C020 and 1 of Deck Lamp Relay 90080-87026". I am assuming these come preinstalled from the factory in the 2020 and newer Tacomas?

I noticed that you have a tonneau cover with a box. I've been searching for that. I cant find anything. The only know I found is discontinued. Can you tell me what brand it is and any other information you have. I would really appreciate it. Thanks again
I have a 2021 Tacoma Off Road, It does not have the interior switch, it does have the wiring harnes when I remove the taillight. Will it still work without the switch on the left hand side.
My 2021 Tundra TRD Pro doesn't have the blank cutouts in the bed or the wiring harness. I wish it did. I'm going to say if your truck doesn't have the cutouts in the bed you won't have the wiring either. This may save you time looking for it.
Nice video. Would you be able to post the dimensions of that cut out? I can probably do that same cut out on my 2017 and install those lights. I would have to wire it differently, but that wouldn't be too hard. Thanks
I was thinking of doing the same for my 2017 taco. I have led strip lighting in there now, but I would prefer this clean oem look. Hopefully he replies with the dims
Thanks for the comment! I really like it so far, I use it everyday and no complaints. I opted for the SE just because it was more affordable and I didn't plan on hauling anything heavy on it.
@@jasonha3753 you are welcome Jason. I actually picked up my 2021 Pro today- Midnight Black. I’m going to order the same Diamondback as you have and build a sliding box for underneath. Can you measure the height from the truck bed to the lowest point on the underside of the cover for me? This will allow me to finish the dimensional plans and start construction in advance of taking receipt of the cover. Many thanks! Michael
Be careful putting light back on. I broke both tabs on one side screwing in at a wrong angle or too tight. Luckily the metal bracket still clips on plastic piece but I used electrical tape to secure it anyway. Be careful!
@@tomgregory5814 Normally when you unlock the truck the bed will illuminate. I misunderstood your first comment, there is a cargo light switch located inside the truck which keeps the bed light on. Hope this clears it up.
I did figure this out. With much messing around. See this thread “2020 Tacoma Access Cab SR/SX Bed Light Mod” on Tacoma world. It was wired on both ends.
Probably so dealers can add $300 dollars to the cost of the truck for this option. If this light sells for $60 retail it probably costs less than half of that to manufacture. All of this adds up to profits for Toyota.
I got a 2020 Taco SR5 and It got a bed light cut out. I installed my extender bracket and i have to removed the tail lights and it got a plug n play harness .

It was an option when I ordered my truck but it would’ve costed twice as much as just buying the lights stand alone. Hope this helps!

hey is your diamondback cover completely water proof? if so can you show how you did it? Mine leaks water still at the corners closest to the cab.

Does it matter which side the light goes on or does it work work for both side the same
I don’t remember exactly but I believe it works either way.

Was your Tacoma wired with a cargo light switch? My 2020 SR/SX wasn’t and have heard that these won’t light without one.
Nope no switch. Just plug and play.

Yes. I assumed since you also have the third brake light set as shown in your video.
Tom look on Tacomaworld for info about the cargo light switch. I know guys have added them to the SR.
