The answer to "How old is the Earth" is "Around 6000 years", spoken directly by God to a modern man who was granted a vision and one question. You can argue it was a lying spirit contacting him, but we know the lying spirits serving Satan want us to believe Earth is 4.5 billion years old. The world reminds me of the game series called Civilization, I believe they are up to #6 now. In the starting menu you can select all the features of the world, including its age, then when you click Start Game it generates the world. Time begins at 4000 BC. When you advance to the end of the game you can train archaeologists who might dig things up and think they are 100s of millions of years old, and might conclude their world is 4.5 billion years old, because that's what you set it at when you made the game. But being outside the game you are aware of the fact that their world actually began in 4000 BC. So, if you dropped a note into their world telling them this, would they have faith and believe you, or believe in the rocks they examine?

We as christians know or should know the basics, but there's so much knowledge contained in the bible that the church ignores, and I've seen that only those with the gift of science know the depths of the bible. Ultimately it is the Spirit of God who reveals the mysteries. To one person He could reveal a certain matter and to other person He could reveal another different matter (no one knows it all). I don't think have the gift but I know a few (personally just two) that do have it.
God is not gonna reveal His riches and His wisdom to an atheist, please LOL that sole idea is laughable. So keep believing that (for instance) when the bible mentions talking stars it is refering to literally stars and it is dumb and fantasious. I don't care, man.
The only thing I will mention, is that one day we will all stand in front of the judgment seat of God, and the reedemed will go to everlasting life and the unredeemed to everlasting contempt. I understand why you don't believe, the god of this world, lucifer, has blinded your eyes and you cannot see, and you will NEVER see, unless you really humble yourself and cry unto God. But you love your sin more (and it's understandable, without the Spirit of God you cannot do anything about it) you don't like to be told what to do, you want to live life without any consequences, without being accountable to God. I'm just gonna say, you gotta repent, man. Find God, call Him while He is near before it is to late for you. I mean, eternity is at stake here, your soul is at stake here. Don't do it for me, or for anyone, at least do it for youself.

When discussing Young Earth Creationist (YEC) or Old Earth Creationist (OEC), or whether the account in Genesis and the days are actual or metaphorical, it’s important to realize that in these discussions, the unit of measure is “Time”. So then the question should be: when was time created? I think we miss the point that while God was creating the universe and the Earth, He was also creating time. As He went through each day, He was establishing time: 7 days in a week - not 6 or 10 - but 7 days in a week, day and night with 24 hours in each day (John 11:9), etc. He was doing all this to get the Earth ready, with all of its environments (plants, animals etc.) and order (laws of time, physics, science, etc.), for the eventual habitation of humans. I know this may sound obvious, but before God created time, there was no time, and so there’s nothing to measure. It wasn’t until He created the Earth, 7 days/week, 24 hours/day, then the clock can start ticking and we can look for accounts to measure the age of the Earth. Additionally, throughout the Bible, God makes it clear that He is more powerful than nature/His creation, and if He wants to create the Earth in 7 days, He can do that: in addition to Genesis, you look at examples like the parting of the red Sea in Exodus, Numbers 26:10 when the Earth opened up and swallowed Korah; when the Israelites crossed the Jordan river in Joshua 3-4, Job 41-42 when God lists all the things He has done and His limitless power and resources; Mark 4:35-41 when Jesus calms the storm and the disciples wonder “who is this? Even the wind and waves obey Him!” (i.e. who is this person than can control and overcome nature/creation?) Based on this, I believe there’s overwhelming evidence and support for YEC (of course, that's assuming you believe in God and the Bible).
Really appreciate everything you do - learned a lot from you. Thank you and God bless you!

An example of Bible-related ignorance. The seven day week was not established in any culture before about 2500 BC. It's nothing to do with the creation myth in Genesis, which was written around 500 BC.

    • @sjarjoura9188
      @sjarjoura9188 4 роки тому +5

@@urasam2 So… according to you, (1) I’m ignorant (2) the concept of a 7 day creation week along with the account in Genesis is a myth (3) there’s no account of 7-day weeks prior to 2500BC, so that means it didn’t exist? or people weren’t aware of it?...seriously?? and (4) the Bible was written in 500BC. May I suggest that you expand your resources beyond the bubble of internet bias (and often wrong) content that you are regurgitating. Also, it appears you have latched on to the Graf-Wellhausen Hypothesis - even its Bible range is from 500 to 1000 BC, so why did you selectively choose the earliest one? Not to mention that this Hypothesis is full of contradiction and is no longer widely accepted. BTW Biblically, the writing of the Bible is estimated to have started around 1500BC, even secular archeological estimates are 1300BC, not sure why you’re pursuing the 500BC theory - it raises more questions than answers?? You obviously don’t believe in God, so you’ll have to cross that bridge first before you talk about the validity of the Bible and the account in Genesis. When you consider life itself, or the fact that we have 2 sexes, males and females (not just 1 or 3 or more) - how can you explain this outside of a creator God and the logical and systematic creation account in Genesis? (the Big-Bang chaotic explosion, and-let-the-pieces-fall-where-they-may, theory makes more sense to you? Really?) You can claim that somehow life was produced on earth out of nothing, no designer or God, over billions and billions of years; and somehow, this theory or life producing mechanism, was smart enough to produce yet another life-producing mechanism in the form of males and females, to sustain life - not just in humans, but in species everywhere: on land, in the ocean, in the air, regardless of geographical or environmental conditions. That’s amazing how all this happened by chance…..or does it in fact prove that there is intelligence in the universe? Even when you consider any living system - all inputs of life have to be present otherwise, it cannot exist, so how could this happen over a long period of time, rather, it had to be a short period of time. Deut. 30:19 “This day I call the heavens and the earth as witnesses against you that I have set before you, life and death, blessings and curses. Now choose life, so that you and your children may live.” Basically, as long as you have walked on this earth or looked up to sky, you have no excuse not to believe in God. He won’t use the Bible against you, rather, He will use the obvious evidence that’s right before your eyes!

@@sjarjoura9188 1)I called it ignorance because the views you expressed are clearly ignorant of the facts, I am not calling you ignorant per se. 2)Yes, the 7 day creation story is a myth, it's obviously a myth, and is accepted as a myth by the vast majority of the Jews whose Holy book it is anyway. 3) There is no objective reason why we have a seven day week, it's arbitrary. The Celts, Etruscans and Romans had an 8 day week, the Chinese, Egyptians and even the French have had 10 day weeks, and other cultures have had weeks of between 4 and 10 days. 4) I was not giving the date of 500 BC for the composition of the entire Bible. I was referring to Genesis in its current form. Scholars agree that it was put together during the Babylonian exile, and though you reject the Documentary Hypothesis, there is no disagreement among scholars (who know what they are talking about) that the Torah is composed from a variety of different sources, principally J, D and P.
The rest of your comment is a classic example of "The God of the Gaps" argument. You can't understand how the universe came to be in its present form and you can't understand abiogenesis or evolution, therefore you claim "well then, God must have done it". You display an ignorance of Big Bang Theory, and an ignorance of evolution via random mutation and natural selection over time. Notice I didn't say "you are ignorant".

@@urasam2 I appreciate the clarification, but "God of the gaps":) You mean the gaps that Big Bang, evolution and all these other theories have created:) and if the " 7 day week is arbitrary', is that what time and our dating methods are based on - an arbitrary system? Really? You do realize that all these theories are based on a pile of assumptions, and then the science is mangled to make it fit - not to mention ignoring logic, math/probability, etc. all for the sake of not even wanting to consider an intelligent creator - talk about ignoring scientific objectivity. They started off with removing God as an option, and tried to come up with a theory to explain life. It's amazing how statements like "...The vast majority..." and "...scholars agree..." keep getting tossed around as evidence, when they only represent the opinion of a few people - which they are entitled to, but it doesn’t make it factual. It's not about my ignorance of these theories, but rather the baseless, unscientific and misleading information of these theories - which they eventually end up contradicting themselves. Abiogenesis (the rebranding of the debunked 'spontaneous generation' theory, which has been experimentally proven to be false - even the probability of forming the simplest life form based on this theory is 1 in 10 to the 90,000 power); ... Big Bang (improved instrumentation and observational methods keep highlighting inconsistences in this theory, to which the mysterious 'dark matter' has been introduced to try and save it, without any evidence);... Evolution (from nothing/no life/no information, came something/information/life - this is what you base your beliefs on?);... then followed and contradicted by random mutation (random, yet not too random to stop the bias of evolution theory or natural selection right?), natural selection (no issues with selecting living forms that can survive, but you do realize that this theory contradicts evolution and random mutation, since you have to ‘select’ from a pre-existing selection, and therefore nothing new is created). You are entitled to believe in these theories (and they are just theories), but do you not see how deficient they are? The main driving theme is that life and everything just came together by itself (through wild assumptions) with no design and no intelligent input, then throw in the billions of years to cover the gaps and details in these assumptions, and go around calling that evidence. It's like looking at a wooden piece of furniture and saying it came together by itself, then dating the wood to find out that it came from a 100 year-old tree, and concluding that the furniture is a 100 years old.....meanwhile it was made last week by a carpenter. What I'm suggesting to you is that you revisit the information and your beliefs, but this time keep God on the table as an option and see how it stacks up.

No they are not compatible. You've been DUPED. No evidence for long earth and the Bible nowhere says anything about a long earth. That is read into the scriptures. I know the whole issue, all the verses. This video repeats the same nonsense. A literal 24 hour day in the Bible is not ambiguous. It does not become other forms of days. They are separate meanings. If a day could be a week or a1000 years (not literal periods of time) it is not meant for us to come up with millions/billions of years. Its not there. If a day is a 1000 yeas, then Jesus would still be in the tomb.
I would be rid of a Sunday school teacher that taught anything other than the 6 day the Bible teaches. No evidence for long earth and denies clear evidence of the flood. Evolutionists are laughing their heads off. They have always attacked Genesis because it is the foundation of the Bible. If they can cast doubt on it, they can turn many from the rest of the Bible. 2nd best accomplishment for Atheists is Christians that have fallen for long creation heresy by deceived Christians, like Hugh Ross and company.
Gen 1 days: "and it was so" is the same as "and there was light", which everyone understands was instantaneous. Atheistic Evolution is not logical by scientific standards. It is a hypothesis, not even graduated to theory, yet is taught as fact. How can Christians borrow from Atheists to form their beliefs? Stand up for the word of God as written or you will fall for nonsense like this. Evolutionists' will say, Gravity is a theory, but if you jump out a window your going to die. Yeah, because its a LAW, not a theory. They come up with many such lies. Every bit of Theistic Evolution is all just well presented ERROR. " So, little Johnny & Sally, God created the earth in 6 24 hour days and rested on the 7th day, because the Bible says so and incidentally, so-called "scientists" are lying to you about evolution"

Old Earth is simply impossible because if creatures kept breeding at even the most conservative of rates for just thousands, let alone tens of millions of years, the planet would be covered in a literal sea of plants and animals. What about Adam naming all the animals, one may ask? Simple, really, our understanding of species simply isn't how Biblical taxonomy works, all the different species of beetles would just be a single kind, ditto rats, ants, etc. There's also the issue of plants somehow surviving eons without sunlight if the days weren't literal days. All of this said, the Earth itself, that is the ball of rock and metal, could indeed be immensely old because it wasn't part of the Genesis Week, as attested by God hovering over its waters prior to Genesis Week. On a related note, a literal Genesis Week doesn't even necessarily contradict the fact that the Big Bang happened and the rest of the universe beyond Earth is old, because as you expand space you also expand time because they're fundamentally the same thing: to put it another way, when the Firmament was filled with Light and later on expanded to create outer space, physics could have easily taken place within that expanded space as per usual, resulting in the formation of matter, first generation stars, planets, later generation stars, and so on.

Last I checked the context of the Bible made it very clear that "In the beginning..." really means in the very beginning, which would indeed have been the FIRST day (I mean, come on, it's not like it would be without a beginning; how far-fetched is it not to attempt to find some hidden amount of time in-between Genesis 1 and 2, just to please a movement of evolutionists as opposed to reasoning with them in a consistent Biblical manner), and that Genesis 1 makes it very clear by first defining what a day is (the light portion of a day and a night) and then going on to list six actual days with "evening, morning, number, and calling it a day". Attempting to stretch this out into some supposedly "deep periods of time" doesn't make sense and only creates more issues and raises more questions. God created in six days and rested on the seventh, and this has already happened, and is thus also a model for our weekly lives. The seventh day isn't "still going on", it's already happened long ago.
Furthermore, the genealogies of Genesis makes it very clear that there were only about 2,000 years before Abraham, and then we commonly understand there to have been about 2,000 years from Abraham to Christ, and about 2,000 years from Christ to today, making up a planet and universe of about 6,000 years in age. Period. I would state the contexts and the numbers are already clear enough. The problem comes in attempting to explain the results of the two most considerable events in history, namely the Creation and the Flood, by mere naturalistic terms and ends up distorting actual history and creating a false history of the world. What is ironic though is how many Christians (in making the mistake to place their faith more in the words of men rather than the Word of God in order to bring more people to the faith - however succesful that would actually turn out is questionable) indeed attempt to make the Bible fit with mankind's unreliable understanding and the heavily speculative concept of deep time and millions and billions of years of Earth history.
More often than not, these people have essentially been taught (either by society or themselves or some mix of both) to question the Word of God and abuse their own God-given mind in favor of pleasing the minds of mere sinful men, being in rebellion against their Creator, forging their own rules. How discouraging and frustrating it is also to see men of God who attempt to support the Bible at the same time as attempting to support deep time and ending up leaving an atmosphere of confusion, as well as a sense of deception, while they could instead have remained Biblically consistent and scientifically honest. I saw the problem very well while still being an evolutionist, and I certainly see it much more clearer now as a creationist, and it boggles my mind why anybody would continue promoting this nonsense.

The World is not only 6000 years old. Get over it. However, that in no way obfuscates or contradicts the OT. Think about it. And use some common sense, please. Our Universe is immense beyond the capacity of the human mind to comprehend. Why, why I ask you, would God place men only on this tiny orb, after fashioning the inconceivably large Universe of trillions of stars and other worlds? It is pretentious arrogance to think that we are so important as to be the only intelligent life God has ever created. Get over yourselves, and the overweening, self-important mentality of thinking we are all that. God loves us, but to limit and to confine Him to a box is just ludicrous. Peace

    • @dougoverhoff7568
      @dougoverhoff7568 5 років тому

@Sunnypsyop Yes, just for starters. But even those cultures are exceeded in precedence by even older ones. Apparently those who read the OT view its writings in the context of present day relevance, and not as to when they were written. For one thing, the seven day week is not necessarily a concept derived from the OT. Just because we have the writings of the OT, doesn't mean that there did not exist many years of human existence prior to the Hebrews. For one thing, the written text had barely been initiated at that time. Other ancient cultures had produced glyphs in stone well before the OT. Even Adam and Eve predate the OT by thousands of years. Holding to the concept of a young Earth is simply not plausible in view of all of the data and evidence to the contrary. For anyone to be so narrow in their views is the indication of a small, prejudiced mind, and one who is easily influenced. Nor does the belief in the scientific viewpoint negate the truth or validity of Religious texts.

The bible needs neither external explanation nor justification, anyone who thinks it does, does not know enough of God's Word nor does he obey it. Not to mention that I've never heard a person ask an apologist the reason for the hope they have in the Christian Faith, rather a bunch of silly contentious questions which Christians are warned not to entangle themselves with:
Titus 3:9 But avoid foolish questions, and genealogies, and contentions, and strivings about the law; for they are unprofitable and vain.
      2 Timothy
2:14 Of these things put them in remembrance, charging them before the Lord that they strive not about words to no profit, but to the subverting of the hearers.
2:23 But foolish and unlearned questions avoid, knowing that they do gender strifes.
3:7 Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.
2 Corinthians 2:1 And I, brethren, when I came to you, came not with excellency of speech or of wisdom, declaring unto you the testimony of God.
2 For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified.
3 And I was with you in weakness, and in fear, and in much trembling.
4 And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man's wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power:

Why Christianity is true over other religions like say Buddhism Judaism ect? Or better yet, why is Christianity the only place to look for when it comes to truth and God? Because the one book they use is the Bible. The Bible contains not just human history it’s origins but everything it teaches is in tune with what we see and observe today. on scientific matters, it is accurate historical it is also accurate. It speaks of laws found in nature. The water cycle condensation evaporation of water and coming down as rain returning to rivers and oceans. It talks about proper hygiene practices using running water. The shape of the earth being round and hanging over nothing. Historically, the Bible talks about actual locations. For example many would try to dismiss the garden of eden as myth of fantasy. Yet the Bible speaks of it having four great rivers passing through it. Two of which still exist today. God condemned two sinful cities of the past known as Sodom and Gomorrah. Today we have evidence of existing ancient cities with high levels of sulphur deposit. Sulphur is in fact rare yet there are great amounts of it in this region where the cities once stood. then there’s the Bible’s prophecies regarding the great city of Babylon. Centuries earlier it predicted not only the fall of Babylon but also the name of the conqueror and how he and his military would go about doing it. 200 years later this very thing happened. We know no man could have predicted those descriptions in any way not accurately. Babylon as the Bible foretold would remain ruins and desolate uninhabitable. Even modern attempts today to rebuild it were futile. A dictator even tried but failed. The Bible predicted it would have been completely desolate. It is even to this day. You can find the ruins in modern day Iraq. the Bible made many predictions many of which came true others that are yet to come. We know that according to Jesus the new inheritance would be with true Christians. Jews were once Gods people but they lost all favor with the almighty. This was all foretold would happen as the Bible says Jesus would be rejected hated and killed hundreds of years before happening. Which is why Judaism cannot be true. You can easily dismiss any other religion. But it isn’t all Christianity. It’s one religion out of thousands that teach the truth. The whole truth not just of God but of life. It takes sincere hearts to find it. In fact the truth is accessible to all people of the earth. It usually comes to you. Some people however reject it or want nothing to do with it. Yes Jesus himself said this means everlasting life that they’re taking in accurate knowledge of truth of the father and his son.

The creation account in Genesis 1 is not about the material origin of the cosmos. It's about God bringing order and function to a chaotic cosmos. It's only now in modern Western thought that we assume that the acount is about material/physical origins. The Bible including The ancient Israelites didn't care about where the material universe came from. It's purpose was to show that or God is a God of function and love, not chaos like the other middle Eastern cosmologies. A great book to help with this is "the lost world of Genesis 1" by John Walton.

Genesis 2:1-2 says Thus the heavens and the earth were finished - included in the six days - and on the seventh day he ended his work which he ha made. And God rested on the seventh day.

The question of whether they're accurate at that scale is by no means settled. Huge jumps in scale (both to smaller and larger) were the means by which inaccuracies in Newtonian physics were found, after all.

When someone bases the age of the universe on starlight, assumptions are being made.
One assumption is that light given off by the farthest star has traveled across the universe to the point we are able to see it.
A crude formula would be something like:
Age of universe = "Distance across universe" divided by "speed of light"
      (time = distance ÷ speed)
Since there are no humans that were known to have been alive at the beginning of the universe AND wrote down what they saw (giving us an eye witness account), it is an assumption that light *HAS* traveled across the universe.
One counter is "What if the universe was created with initial conditions where starlight was already visible across the universe?"
Assumptions are being made here as well but the main point is, no one knows for sure.

That verse refers to the Creation Story so here's some info on that.
First, we need to establish a basis and an understanding for the Creation Story.
      *First day*:
God says let there be light.
      *Fourth day*:
God creates the stars and moons.
      *Second day*:
God creates the oceans and the sky.
      *Fifth day:*
God fills the ocean with marine animals and the sky with avian animals.
      *Third day*:
      God creates land.
      *Sixth day*:
God creates land creature: beasts and humans.
Look at that parallelism; Hebrew poetry was not necessarily "hot", "spot", "shot", "rot". Hebrews did poetry mainly by parallelism; parallel ideas; introduce ideas "A", "B", "C" then augment ideas "A", "B", "C". Notice also the repetition of two phrases; "And God said" and "and God saw that it was good". If you can't pick up on those patterns, come one man, reread it.
The greater evidence is that Genesis 1's literary style (at least the creation story) is Hebrew poetry.
Most Christians belief that the world is young because some well-meaning Christians in the U.S. in the early days took all the genealogies and did the math and came to "the world is young".
But the are basic flaws with their calculations and presuppositions are as follows:
      1. There are known gaps in those geologies.
      2. The Hebrew word for "son" ("ben") can mean also descendant of: "Jesus, who is the son of King David, who was the son of Father Abraham, who was the son of Adam"; any well versed Jew knows that Jesus was not the immediate son of King David who was not the immediate son of Father Abraham who was not the immediate son of Adam.
      Also notice day 4
“14 And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and *let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years*:
15 And let them be for lights in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth: and it was so."
Even the bible admits that man's knowledge of tracking time is based upon the sun and stars. Our knowledge of tracking days is based upon Earth's position relative to the sun.
So regardless of your age of the Earth stance (old or young) until day 4, you don't have a basis for tracking time.
Again take notice again that the creation story's literary style is Hebrew poetry, so it would be intellectually dishonest for you or I to go to the Creation Story with stopwatch; it's not a scientific description of how God created the World.

  • @mebsteve47

In the beginning I baked a cake. The cake was without form and void and darkness was up on the face of the cake pan. My spirit soul and body hovered over a bowl with dry cake batter. I said to my daughter let me have an egg and some butter. I stirred until I had wet cake batter. I separated the cake batter from the bowl and placed it in the pan. I placed the pan in the oven and cooked it at 350 degrees for 50 minutes. I called it a cake. So the hour and a half was the first cake.
Here, read it without any forced literary gaps. And you won’t see a time gap.
In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. The earth was without form, and void; and darkness was on the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters. And God said, “Let there be light”; and there was light. And God saw the light, that it was good; and God divided the light from the darkness. God called the light Day, and the darkness He called Night. So the evening and the morning were the first day.
It looks like one day to me.
I believe Iit’s ignorant to read it any other way. You have to add to the words a lot of assumptions to make it longer than a day. You have to have secret scientific knowledge to make it say it was longer than a day. Sounds cultic to me.

You can't even give a Bible verse to support your claim that God would make the sun fit a so-called cycle He already knew to be a 24h day. That's just your own interpretation.
Nobody knows how long the night and a day were before God made the sun...
Even in our modern times, days actually do not have the same length.
If for example you read the account of the Creation in other extra biblical books like the "Book of Jubilee" (and I am not trying to say that these books have the same divine authority as the Bible), it actually explains that when God told Adam: "the day you eat this fruit, you'll die", it meant Adam would die in the same millenium (period of 1000 years) he would eat that fruit, and that is a reason why Adam died before the age of 1000 years, just like every other man that lived on the face of the earth (having inherited the sinful nature from Adam).
Also, the Bible says, that a day in God's eyes is like 1000 years.
So nobody knows exactly how long the days of creation where.

      Genesis 2:1-3 KJV
Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them.
[2] And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made. [3]
And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made.
here it said God completed his work on the seventh day, he did a few things to that day that he doesn't do to the others, he rested on this day, he bless it, he sanctified it.
now this is just one day out of the seven days, this day have the same length as the others, so lets see if mankind can tell how long this day is, is it the same 24 hour that we are now using.
      Exodus 20:8-11 KJV
Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy. [9] Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work:
[10] But the seventh day is the sabbath of the Lord thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates:
[11] For in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the Lord blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.
Now here the children of Israel are given the sabbath day as the forth commandment.
Now compare Exodus 20:8-11 with Genesis 2:1-3 and you will see that this is the very same seventh day week cycle that God rested on.
      Genesis 2:2-3 Exodus 20:10-11
      He rested He rested
      He bless He Bless
He sanctified (means Holy) He Hallowed
the people were required to work for six days and rest on the seventh, this sabbath (unlike other ceremonial sabbath) is the sabbath of God himself, he was the one who sanctified this day as the last day of the week. the day lasted 24 hours for the people, why would it last any longer for God? he was the one who told them how to keep it.
remember when manna fall from heaven, on the seventh day none fell, this lasted for 24 hours, but after wards it fell again on the first day up until the six (read the story in Exodus 16).
in conclusion, the same day of the week God rested, is the same day of the week he told the people to rest also, if it was more or less than 24 hours God would have guided the people in this manner, after all there are people who was punish when they did not obey to keep the sabbath.

Basically God is not constrained by time as 4 dimensional things are, therefore the sin of man can elicit a response that occurs before the man undertook the action. So God's introduction of death to the universe was as a result of, and preceding, man's rebellion.

One of the challenges I haven't heard answer is, if God did use billions of years and evolution to create everything, then at what point to "man" become a moral being, and how/why were there just two of them in the Garden of Eden? Wouldn't there have been 10s of thousands of other demi-humans, Neanderthals, etc roaming around?
    .
Did God just decide then, about 10,000 years or so ago, "Two of these creatures have evolved enough to have achieved a degree of moral culpability, so now I am going to put them in this perfect Garden, halt all deaths of these newly designated 'human beings', give them speech and incredibly creative minds so they can talk to me, make clothing out of leaves (yes, this came later, but the skill/knowledge was there pre-fall into sin) and create a taxonomy of all animals, and then show them this tree and tell them not to touch it?"
    .
Futher, as the Bible says, "Death reigned since the time of Adam". If nothing on Earth died in the first 5-7 million years that science says humans have been around I would think the Earth would have been overpopulated with pre-humans. And as Jesus says, "But from the beginning of the creation, God ‘made them male and female." Mark 10:6 speaking specifically of humans, and again Moses under the inspiration of God the Holy Spirit writes in Exodus, "For in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested the seventh day. Therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and hallowed it."
    .
"From the beginning"...God made them (humans)...., "from the beginning" is when God also created the heavens and the earth. It would seem very odd to say people were around "from the beginning" if they had only just showed up in the most recent 10,000 years or so in a 13 Billion year old universe. Then adding in the issue of death starting with Adam and Eve, the massive mental leap it would take to go from a pre-human intelligence to a being in the homo sapiens species, and God selecting two pre-humans to become 'real' humans, and then introducing moral culpability into the world after 13 Billion years of nothing like that existing. There is nothing in Scripture to support this interpretation.
    .
I'm no linguistics expert, but the evolutionary "old earth" theory seems much harder to explain vs. the simpler truth that God, being all powerful and fully complete himself, made the universe and mankind in their present state of completeness. An all-powerful God can make a human being that for all intents and purposes appears to be 30 years old, but who in fact is only 1 second old. Why make the universe just to have it sit around for billions of years doing nothing but slowly evolving? I'm not saying that isn't how it happened, but there sure isn't much in Scripture that would lead us to believe that is the case, and in the absence of other evidence or reason to be skeptical about the meaning of the words, I'm staying with the literal interpretation.

This was an interesting video. In general, I don't really see this is as an issue. It's not a salvation worthy question. You do need to believe God created everything, but the time in which he did it isn't as important, nor is the age of the world. A lot of people in this comment section seem to want to battle over this and it seems counterproductive. To make any specific claim you have a lot of assumptions to make you can't prove.
    - What defines "The beginning"? and when was that?
    - Has time always been consistent?
    - Has the speed of earth's rotation always been consistent?
    - Did the creation of the heavens and the earth happen prior to the 6 days?
    - Was the earth created Aged or completely new?
... I'm just saying, this is one of those topics where the answer will never be truly known, and even if it was, it doesn't change anything.

Old as in what? Adam was created on Day 6 and lived to 930 years old. Therefore, you can't have millions of years. Furthermore, Adam was a perfect being when he named the animals. So, it is not outside the realm of possibility that he named them all quickly. Lights being used to separate day and night is not the same as it all happening on the fourth day. If we allow for the days of creation to be anything other than 24 hour periods, we open the door to things like macro evolution, millions of years, and death before sin; which destroys the Gospel, the testimony of Jesus, and the work week we use. If God wanted to say the Earth was old, the Biblical timeline would support it. I don't see that it does. My $0.02.

Well, first off you're going by your assumption of his meaning of "good" being precisely that there is no physical death on the Earth, which is odd to suggest because animal death is a necessity for the functioning of ecosystems and not to mention fossil fuels from physical death of animals over the course of a long period of time, which have been necessary for human achievement up until now. God, knowing in advance Adam would sin, would have prepared the way in manners like these. Animals don't have souls, they aren't capable of sin. If the wages of sin is death but animals can't sin, then the death it's referring too that displeases God must be referring to spiritual death. His words are not our words and His thoughts are not our thoughts, but the evidence is pretty clear there has been animal death and carnivorous behavior for some time (a very long time), and the God I worship isn't a God of confusion nor would have made it look different then so to deceive us.

There were theories about the sun "burning up", before nuclear fusion was understood, which were used to support YEC timescales. These were wrong because they made assumptions (one of Dr Turek's favourite words) that were wrong. One of the factors that led to my being converted from a YEC was the thorough dishonesty of the YECs whereby they cling to an out-of-date theory simply because it suits their arguments, even though it is easily demonstrated to be false. A million years ago the sun wouldn't have been much different to what it is today. At the current, measured rates of Hydrogen to Helium fusion it won't start to swell up into a Red Giant star for another few thousand million years yet.

The idea of cosmic inflation is required to evade the conclusion that the universe is young, but cosmic inflation also makes it plausible that the universe is young. Cosmic inflation is the idea that the universe rapidly expanded in the first ten quintillionth fraction of a second of its existence. It helps "resolve" problems like the horizon and flatness problems, but if the universe expanded longer than ten quintillionth of a second, then the universe is nowhere near as old as people think it is. In fact, if the universe is assumed to have expanded at a different rate in the past than it's assumed to expand today, which is what cosmic inflation implies, then the old age assigned to the universe can't even be assumed to be an accurate estimation.

I've read some bits and pieces about some related ideas. The interesting ideas revolve around the fact that at the beginning of the Universe, all matter was packing into an extremely small area. • @ourbulwarkisjesuschrist9435

@@michaelwill7811 you seem to be speaking about the idea of initial singularity. Not only would the movement of time have been affected, but it wouldn't have moved at all. I think it was Einstein who pointed out that time moves slower if you stand near a large mass of matter, which leads to the idea that time doesn't move at all if all matter were infinitely condensed into a singularity. But if time didn't move at some point in the past, then nothing should've happened in the past. So, if we entertain the idea of an initial singularity and a following big bang, then we should ask why the event that led to the big bang happened at some point in the past if, instead, nothing should have happened for forever?

they all have an evening to evening the only day that doesn't have an evening to evening is the Saturday the seventh day of the

The Bible say God created the universe in 6 days in the 7th day He rested. Adam was created on the 6th day, counting the genealogy from adam to Jesus up to the present time is less than 10,000 years. The concept of time is determined by God. Man determined time based on Christ coming BC and AD. In the year of our Lord.

8bits Creeper 7 days were long epochs of time. So a Christian should well know that each day was not a literal 24 hour day. It’s young earth creationist who interpret the 7 days as literal. The earth and universe history go as far back as millions and billions of years old, whereas human history only goes back around thousands of years and not millions. If you trust the Bible account and the creation of our first parents Adam and Eve, After their fall one wouldn’t suppose that God has allowed millions of years after them for humans to become sophisticated enough to created weapons of mass destruction that would be capable of destroying all life on earth. Battles and wars are marked throughout history but has never gotten as destructive as modern warfare. God has allowed humans to rule themselves for a short time and soon after will intervene in human affairs.
