Just purchased bunch of games from the 360 store. Gotta get them all before it's gone. TDU2 is awesome! Even without live features. So good racing game.
Condemned really needs to make a comeback, especially with horror games in general getting more and more popular. Also, fun fact, the PC version of American Wasteland is based on the Xbox version, not the Xbox 360 version which has higher resolution textures, making the 360 version the best version to this day.
I got my Xbox 360 for free from an insurance claim. i lived in Arizona for a few years and when we moved back to California we had to make 2 trips because of how much stuff we had, after leaving for a few hours we get a call from our neighbor, someone broke in and stole a bunch of stuff we left, including some of my games and GameCube. We put that in our insurance report but my mom didn't know exactly what games I was missing so she asked our neighbor what games he had but listed a bunch of Xbox games instead. After almost a year later i get a massive box in the mail with a letter saying "because they dont sell the OG Xbox anymore we got you the closest thing: a 360 with a bunch of games", it was glorious
I was there! On launch day, I called off work and called around to find available consoles. I found one at Walmart. I was given a number and waited 8hrs to get it. I chipped my tooth on a hotdog and met some cool people. I’d do it all over again!
@campxbox The games good so long as you're not a nitpicky asshole and you just want to have fun I hate Joanna's redesign, but it's like the Halo 4 of Perfect Dark great! But a little bit to get used to.
Perfect Dark Zero and Kameo still look amazing to this day. Playing them on Xenia at 4k is unbelievable. It's like every single texture has parallax occlusion mapping and the "bright bloomy flat" looking lighting complements everything 10 fold. edit:typed all that before watching and love you even more now
Amped3 was such an interesting experience for me, as I lived in Salt Lake and was snowboarding at Snowbird for years. Seeing it all recreated and it being the entire first map was a “woah, games can take place in my city” realization.
Awesome video! The 360 was the pinnacle of gaming for my childhood. I was 16 when it came out. Madden 06 was my life for that year. Loved it! I also thoroughly enjoyed Condemned and COD 2!
I actually found a disc of Need for Speed: Most Wanted for the original Xbox lying in the grass one day when I was walking through my neighborhood as a teen. Can confirm: game absolutely rules and I would have gladly paid for it.
In 2008 my dad went into a tech store to buy something and there was a raffle where you had to drop your receipt in a box and they drew a receipt. Well my dad won and he could choose 1 out of the 3 main consoles (360, ps3 and wii). He chose the xbox and got an arcade pack with kung fu panda and lego indiana jones. Best decision ever :)
Take a shot every time he says launch lol. The Xbox 360 had a phenomenal launch lineup (takes shot). I remember getting mine not long afterwards in April 2006 with. Kameo. Condemned. Quake 4. Ridge racer 6 and dead or alive 4. I those games kept me busy for months. Fond memories playing those games. Currently in a 360 mood recently :).
You did a absolutely fantastic job putting this all together in a in-depth & concise video! I couldn't find a Xbox 360 new for less than $800 to $1000 new on Ebay for the first couple of years, so I had to play "Gun", "The Godfather" & "NFS Most Wanted" all on my then new original Xbox, as badly as I wanted a new 360. For myself it boiled down to wanting a Xbox 360 just to play "Call of Duty 2", "Dead Rising" & especially "Full Auto", which blew me away at that time!
Launch day at Circuit City! 10 consoles available and I got #9. Only had enough for the console itself so my mom offered to buy King Kong because we loved the movie. That turned out to be a really cool and unique game and I have it to this day.
something you should know: perfect dark zero's music is glitched on anything past the 1.0 patch of the game, ruining the xbone version too. you have to play it without the internet now to get music properly working
The Xbox 360 was great, I bought it on the day it was released and Call of Duty 2 Amped 3 Need for Speed: Most Wanted and last but not least Condemned: Criminal Origins unfortunately I was a victim of the Ring of Death but to this day I don't regret it I bought it on day 1.
I’ve always considered the King Kong game to be super underrated as I think it balances two completely different gameplay styles and mechanics in a fair and fun way, when playing as Jack you truly feel like anything can kill you within seconds and it’s more of a survival experience especially with how limited the ammo and overall weapon selection is, and as Kong you truly feel giant and epic as an gorilla who can take down dinosaurs and other monsters with relative ease, that’s one game I really wish would be either remade or remastered for modern platforms
I only bought my 360 because I didn't want to wait 16 months for PS3 to launch to play HD games 😂 I was.....sceptical I was wrong One of the best home consoles of all time and the only Xbox that comes _close_ to making that list. Absolute banger ❤
It was actually a really strong launch lineup in hindsight - I got Perfect Dark Zero and CoD 2 with mine. Consoles these days never really launch with anything close to that selection of games.
I remember buying American Wasteland even though I played thru it on my PS2. I had both PS2 and 360 connected to my tv and was switching inputs back and forth to see the difference and I was blown away by the image quality and smoothness of the 360 version. Felt like a new game and had fun replaying it.
Regardless on how much I love my Series X and how much time I spend on it. The Xbox 360 is still my favourite console of all time and will remain that forever as far as I can see. My favourite games of all time were on this console, and my favourite childhood memories were on this console. So thank you Xbox 360 for shaping me into the person I am.
The Xbox 360 had a really strong launch lineup I wish all these games were backward compatible, especially Quake 4. Odd that King Kong managed to be backward compatible despite all the licensing issues inherent with movie games.
Have you guys noticed how expensive 360 games are getting right now? I have never seen prices shoot up this high this fast, and I remember when Saturn, GameCube, NES, 64, etc all had their jump in price.
@@waverazor That and the online marketplace is shutting down soon, so all of em that are available digitally wont be (though i dunno how this works buying them from Xbox One/Series)
Got mine with Amped 3 COD2 NFS Kameo PDZ and Condemned on launch night. Last time my dad took me to a midnight launch. Great times. CoD2 on Veteran still my favourite campaign on an FPS.
I never see one hour video in UA-cam but man your video was very well from the beginning to the end!!! And Xbox 360 had a great launch title, great exclusive game and for me the best Xbox live arcade!!! The best Xbox console ever!!!
This was the goat of launches. This is how you sell consoles. Add in Dead or Alive 4 and Burnout Revenge for being alittle late but still also fit in with these early gen games with Gears of War and Oblivion coming a year later was insane. It'll never be like this again.
Great vid, as they always are. Im currently playing through the Xbox 360 launch lineup and reviewing as I go. Its insane how stacked a lineup it was really. Probably too many games. Seem to remember the first half of 2006 only had Dead or Alive and Ridge Racer in it, could have pushed PDZ or Quake 4 back to there too. Probably why some launch games didnt sell as well as hoped
I remember working at a GameStop during the launch of the Xbox 360, and there's no denying it had a great selection of titles day one. Call of Duty 2, Condemned, and Perfect Dark Zero were definitely the exclusives that stood out for me out of the bunch at that time, and while I didn't have a 360, those are the ones I'd always play at my friend's house lol. Condemned was a terrifying game for sure! Perfect Dark Zero was nowhere near as outstanding as the N64 original, but I still had fun playing it overall, especially in co-op. While I played the multiplatform games on the GameCube, I did revisit King Kong on the 360 through the X1, and that game still holds up as an intense, unique experience. Fantastic episode covering every launch title man!
I was in grade 11 when the 360 came out. Playing Perfect Dark Zeros Campaign with a friend from school through Xbox LIVE was awesome. After we finished it though, we went back to Halo 2 until Halo 3 came out.
It really is awesome. It was the last launch game left that I hadn't played, but I just got the game a couple days ago cause I wasn't a big horror game fan when the 360 released, so I latched onto CoD2, NFS Most Wanted, American Wasteland, and PGR3 due to prior experience with the franchises. Condemned definitely stands alongside those games as one of the best launch games for the 360.
Nice to see that there are some more fans of Perfect Dark Zero. It wasn't perfect but so unqiue. Artstyle was very intense, and it kinda looked like how we imagined graphics improvements, it had that RHCP Californication quality, kinda like when you look at early graphic cards demos.
That's a great way to put it! It does have a graphics card demo quality to it. I always enjoyed PDZ and I went back recently to see if it was worse than I remembered but I still had fun with it.
Playing CoD2 on a demo kiosk in Wal-Mart gave me a real “wow!” factor. I wasn’t able to actually buy a 360 until 2008 though (bought it with money I got as a high school graduation gift), but I made sure to get all the launch games I had been eyeing the couple of years the console was out. Of everything on this list, Condemned was the real stand out. I was already a big fan of horror games like Resident Evil and Silent Hill, but Condemned having a slightly more grounded element (with still some paranormal elements) and being mainly melee focused made it really stand out, and is still one of my favorites.
call of duty 2 on the futureshop kiosk (best buy in canada back then) is what made me have to get a 360 right away. at the time it was novel to have the actual same game the pc players were getting instead of a console version. and the 60 fps and high resolution on the hd screens looked amazing
Yep, I remember playing the CoD 2 kiosk demo back in 2005 and I was blown away. I don't think I have ever seen such a graphical jump like that from PS2 to 360 in '05.
We pretty much lived out the same scenario. Call of Duty 2 playing on a kiosk at Walmart is what made me want a 360 but I couldn't afford one because I was 13. Got one two years later. Was so hyped for the early years of the console until towards the middle when games started running bad, Microsoft was pushing hard for the Kinect and my console died lol
Glad i found your channel for my inner geek, never got the ps2 because i was talked into halo by my friends & their xbox addicted dad. Still don't regret it cause I bought the xbox 360 after twice but gifted it once aswell, plus fat controllers are better for my hands.
Man that system was special ! It was the first system I was able to buy for my self as a kid working at the local coffee shop. I bought oblivion, condemned and gears of war ! That was a magical time to be gaming
Keep up the great content dude, I'd love to see more 360 videos from you, specially something regarding "must have games" before the store closes. Cheers!
By the way, there's a revised version of "Quake 4", that came out in either 2012 or early 2013. It has far better frame rate performance & has a small Gamestop exclusive logo on the cover. It also comes with a very nice fold-out "Quake 4" poster inside but no 2nd disc with "Quake 2". I own both versions & love the game, setting, great action & music as well.
Condemned was a launch title??? God damn what a stellar addition to the lineup. CoD2, Amped 3 and Condemned really are all you'd need. Games like Kameo were also stellar alternatives.
Launching consoles used to be special, the 360 and oh ñaunched with so many games, even the xbox one did pretty well but series x launched with nothing. Very sad state of affairs
The PS5 launch wasn't better than Xbox Series X. It launched with a $70+ remake of a PS3 game and a car combat game I cannot even remember its name. Imagine if PS5 at least had Bloodborne 2 and Halo Infinite made the Xbox Series X launch and didn't suck.
@campxbox, Same for PS5. At times, it doesn't even feel like we've left the 8th generation of consoles. And both Sony and Microsoft are already teasing the next Xbox or PlayStation.
Condemned and perfect dark zero needs a remake earlier today i was playing condemned and i was thinking what if they remake this game how would it look on today's gen
The amped series was one of my favorites (particularly 2) shame xbox never did anything with em. Woupdve been nice to at least bring them back with backwards compat
Man, I used to re-launch FIFA 06 a number of times just to get my fav players of the brazilian team in the practice arena 😂 Whatever, I adore every single launch title, despite the issues and lack of features in most of them. Owning and playing these titles feels special.
i dont care what anybody says. Perfect dark zero is one of my favourite 360 titles. And Kameo PS. i dont care how much i hate it myself i still love Perfect dark zero
The 360 launch will go down as one of the most amazing, happiest memories of my life. What a great system, so many amazing games. That's why it pains me to see what they're becoming now 😢
Of the games in this video my 5 favorite 360 launch games were: 1) Call of Duty 2 2)PGR 3)Kameo 4)King Kong 5) Perfect Dark Zero I remember being blown away by CoD2 the first time I tried a demo of it at Best Buy, the volumetric smoke really caught my eye. PDZ is a weird one because PD on N64 is one of my all time favorite games and PDZ falls FAR short or that game. That said I don’t think it’s a bad game, just a bad PD game. But really my favorite Xbox 360 launch game was Geometry Wars Retro Evolved. I easily played that more than anything until Oblivion came out. But the 360 definitely had a strong launch line up. I don’t think it was as strong as the OG Xbox’s launch line up, but still strong.
Great top 5! It makes sense that Geometry Wars would be your favorite that game was addicting as hell at launch and still is. I do think I should have gone into that a bit more in the PDZ section. It's a really fun game, in my opinion, but it definitely isn't as good as the original Perfect Dark.
Yeah no worries! I make a lot of the tracks here and pull a lot of my favorite game music here and there. If it says Camp Xbox, it was made by me. Here is each song that is used: Intro: Last Frito in the Bag - Camp Xbox Amped 3: Vacant Parking Lot - Camp Xbox COD 2: 88 Ridge - COD 2 OST Condemned: Main Theme - Condemned OST Fifa 06: Vacant Parking Lot - Camp Xbox GUN: Main Theme - GUN OST Kameo: Crystal Cavern - Kameo OST Madden 06: Jazzy - Camp Xbox NBA 2K6: Last Frito in the Bag - Camp Xbox NBA Live 06: Vacant Parking Lot - Camp Xbox Need For Speed Most Wanted: Last Frito in the Bag - Camp Xbox NHL 2K6: What it Feels Like to Eat McDonalds at 2AM - Camp Xbox Perfect Dark Zero: Menu - PDZ OST King Kong: Jazzy - Camp Xbox Project Gotham Racing 3: Theme of Suzuka - F1 Racing Championship OST Quake 4: Castaways - World of Warcraft Cataclysm OST Ridge Racer 6: Move Me - Ridge Racer 4 OST Tiger Woods: Track 2 - F-1 Hero 94 OST Tony Hawk's American Wasteland: Reed Area - Top Angler Real Bass Fishing Outro: Last Frito in the Bag - Camp Xbox
@@campxbox Ah thanks! That's awesome that you make your own tracks. I'm into production as a curiosity, but more of an instrumentalist. These sound great!
Call of Duty 2 and Need for Speed: Most Wanted are my favourite launch games for the 360. PGR3, Gun, Condemned, and Tony Hawk's American Wasteland are runner up. Ridge Racer 6 is really the only game from these launch games that I would consider bad. I still play a lot of these launch games regularly today.
Seeing Call of Duty running at 60fps in a 360 game booth at my local Game was mind blowing. The first time a console had matched the PC. Always before that console users got cut down versions but not now. Of course over that gen the PC would again stretch out it's lead but this showed that console gaming was finally a powerhouse that wasn't just for more simplified gaming.
Kameo is honestly an underrated game. Sure it has its shortcomings, but there's actually fun to be has..... also respect for the game to feature Rare's first fully orchestral soundtrack
As much as I enjoyed cod 2 I was absolutely devastated that they removed health packs. And I still hate it in modern games. At least in halo it makes sense because of your shield but in cod etc it’s stupid.
27:29 the jumpshot alone brings me back 😂💧 I loved playing NBA Live until 2K6, EA also did badges/takeover before 2K but it was op as hell for stars…When it comes down to it NBA Live 05 was probably the last best ea basketball game in my opinion
Now that we’re almost 2-3 months away from the 360 marketplace shutting down, most of those game will probably go up. Although there’s a plethora of copies out there, people will panic buy and raise the prices on these.
Condemned was my jam! LOVED that fucking game! Scared the complete shit outta me! That's a great game. COD 2 as well! When I got my 360.. Damn near burned the thing out🤣😂🤣
Kameo is my favorite Rare game, perfect dark zero I only played through it for the first time last year and it had fun moments but a lot of frustrating moments to get through I just think the controls felt too imprecise
As much as I grumbled about the 360's poor technical performance, that's one heck of a launch lineup! I also really like that exaggerated, shiny, high-fidelity, 2000s aesthetic that Kameo and PDZ exemplified (and which we saw some of with the GameCube and Xbox circa 2001). PS: Bonus points for PDZ using XP-era Windows Media Player visualizations in the nightclub- since that was contemporary back then, of course! :P
The only problem with Amped 3 was that it lost a lot of the controls and realism that people enjoyed about 1 and 2. There's a reason people don't really talk about 3 anymore, but Amped 2 is still considered one of the greatest snowboarding games of all time, and games like Stoked and Shredders have emulated it.
love the Xbox 360 games so much
360 is and was easily the best console ever.
The best generation, hands down. The PS3 and 360 console war forced the industry and developers to create some of the best games to date.
Just purchased bunch of games from the 360 store. Gotta get them all before it's gone. TDU2 is awesome! Even without live features. So good racing game.
Couldn’t tell from your profile picture. NERD.
My favorite console
Condemned really needs to make a comeback, especially with horror games in general getting more and more popular. Also, fun fact, the PC version of American Wasteland is based on the Xbox version, not the Xbox 360 version which has higher resolution textures, making the 360 version the best version to this day.
same with most wanted

No one cares
I had the same experience at GameStop.
Glad i found your channel for my inner geek, never got the ps2 because i was talked into halo by my friends & their xbox addicted dad.
Still don't regret it cause I bought the xbox 360 after twice but gifted it once aswell, plus fat controllers are better for my hands.
The Xbox 360 is my favorite game console!! I have all the launch titles! Awesome channel man
XBOX TEAM ❎❎🎮🎮
Actually, Quake 4 was Chris Vrenna. Reznor composed the iconic ambient soundtrack for Quake 1 and 1 only.
@@NebLleb Thank you for the info, I thought Reznor had his hand in it.
Condemned was a launch title??? God damn what a stellar addition to the lineup. CoD2, Amped 3 and Condemned really are all you'd need. Games like Kameo were also stellar alternatives.
Remember the achievements on the launch games. There's a 300gs achievement in Fifa road to the world cup haha.
Yeah that could be its own video haha Like how condemned is only worth 970 GS
Impressed with this video. 360 8s even better than i remember. Great work
Glad you enjoyed the video! Thank you!
It's a shame. 360 was my favorite system I ever had. Now I own a PS5. I hope they can just get it together
Ridge racer 6 best arcade racing game of x360 the final route is super hard 🔥 👌
Launching consoles used to be special, the 360 and oh ñaunched with so many games, even the xbox one did pretty well but series x launched with nothing. Very sad state of affairs
The PS5 launch wasn't better than Xbox Series X. It launched with a $70+ remake of a PS3 game and a car combat game I cannot even remember its name.
Imagine if PS5 at least had Bloodborne 2 and Halo Infinite made the Xbox Series X launch and didn't suck.
Yeah the Series X launch was mainly just upgrades of last gen titles.
I love the original Xbox and the Xbox 360. Thank you for making this channel. ❤
Thank you for watching!
The amped series was one of my favorites (particularly 2) shame xbox never did anything with em. Woupdve been nice to at least bring them back with backwards compat
Who knows maybe one day .. they’re owned by 2k and they just revived the topspin series which was also originally an xsn game just like amped
Man, I used to re-launch FIFA 06 a number of times just to get my fav players of the brazilian team in the practice arena 😂
Whatever, I adore every single launch title, despite the issues and lack of features in most of them. Owning and playing these titles feels special.
i dont care what anybody says. Perfect dark zero is one of my favourite 360 titles. And Kameo
PS. i dont care how much i hate it myself i still love Perfect dark zero
The 360 launch will go down as one of the most amazing, happiest memories of my life. What a great system, so many amazing games. That's why it pains me to see what they're becoming now 😢
I'm a simple man, of simple desires.
I see Amped 3 in the thumb,
I watch it
Amazing video dude! Keep it up!
Kameo elements of power is suck a great game.
It also has a 4k upgrade on the Xbox Series X
Of the games in this video my 5 favorite 360 launch games were:
1) Call of Duty 2
2)PGR
3)Kameo
4)King Kong
5) Perfect Dark Zero
I remember being blown away by CoD2 the first time I tried a demo of it at Best Buy, the volumetric smoke really caught my eye.
Good vid. I’d love a list of tracks used in the video if it’s not too much ask. I really like a lot of these tunes
Yeah no worries! I make a lot of the tracks here and pull a lot of my favorite game music here and there. If it says Camp Xbox, it was made by me. Here is each song that is used:
Intro: Last Frito in the Bag - Camp Xbox
Amped 3: Vacant Parking Lot - Camp Xbox
COD 2: 88 Ridge - COD 2 OST
Condemned: Main Theme - Condemned OST
Fifa 06: Vacant Parking Lot - Camp Xbox
GUN: Main Theme - GUN OST
Kameo: Crystal Cavern - Kameo OST
Madden 06: Jazzy - Camp Xbox
NBA 2K6: Last Frito in the Bag - Camp Xbox
NBA Live 06: Vacant Parking Lot - Camp Xbox
Need For Speed Most Wanted: Last Frito in the Bag - Camp Xbox
NHL 2K6: What it Feels Like to Eat McDonalds at 2AM - Camp Xbox
Perfect Dark Zero: Menu - PDZ OST
King Kong: Jazzy - Camp Xbox
Project Gotham Racing 3: Theme of Suzuka - F1 Racing Championship OST
Quake 4: Castaways - World of Warcraft Cataclysm OST
Ridge Racer 6: Move Me - Ridge Racer 4 OST
Tiger Woods: Track 2 - F-1 Hero 94 OST
Tony Hawk's American Wasteland: Reed Area - Top Angler Real Bass Fishing
Outro: Last Frito in the Bag - Camp Xbox
Quake 4 mentioned. 🔥
Fun fact about the announcer in RR6, you can turn it off or swap him for Heihachi from tekken and he screams at you in japanese
Lmao did not know that. Absolutely love that.
I'm still playing PGR3. Not the 4th. I said the 3rd. I don't know why, but it's still amazing and fun today.
PURE is still the best ATV game hands down , like SSX tricky but with ATVs and banger soundtrack
Now that we’re almost 2-3 months away from the 360 marketplace shutting down, most of those game will probably go up. Although there’s a plethora of copies out there, people will panic buy and raise the prices on these.
Red dead revolver came before red dead redemption btw. Love these videos of the days when gaming was fun!
Kameo is a common game.
Kena: Bridge of Spirits seems to me like a modern counterpart to Kameo, like a state-of-the-art rendition of the same type of game and its themes.
First console I ever camped out for. Rip circuit city.
360 had an awesome launch lineup.
Such a shame the 360 marketplace shuts down this July
I could be wrong but respawning health was halos thing and that was a major contributor to other games adoption. 😊
The 360 version of Gun was featured in the Psycho Dad video, “Psycho Dad shreds video games”
I love your channel
The xbox 360 is a beast even on launch day.
For me PS and Xbox just gave up after the 7th gen. Great video and a great console
I want Most Wanted but I just cant justify the price its going for rn
The only problem with Amped 3 was that it lost a lot of the controls and realism that people enjoyed about 1 and 2. There's a reason people don't really talk about 3 anymore, but Amped 2 is still considered one of the greatest snowboarding games of all time, and games like Stoked and Shredders have emulated it.
Ive played GUN over 20 times over since childhood, and this is the first time Ive heard about a 360 version. Time to boot up the JTAG, I guess
Just finished a new playthrough of condemned all these years later… Games are not made the same as they used to.
Your golf character 😍😂
