❤️❤️❤️ YOU!!!! Sweet old soul! You remind me of my daughter.(21 yrs old)Who listens to LITERALLY everything! Something I’m proud to have instilled in her. Goes Bless you, in Jesus’ name! 😘
So glad you liked it. But the reason music back then (50's, 60's & 70's - most especially, in my opinion in the early to mid 60's) was because you had so many different musical sounds going on simultaneously - surfer rock, Phil Specter's Wall of Sound, Motown, the Philadelphia sound, the British Invasion groups, folk music (especially Bob Dylan), plus Jazz performers like Frank Sinatra - and they were all listening to each other and influencing each other. Rock'n'Roll is a hybrid music. Right from its origins in the late 40's and early 50's Rock'n'Roll was a mixture of Blues, Gospel, Swing Jazz, and County-Western - and as it grew in popularity more musical styles (like folk music, Skiffle, and even Classical and Baroque music) were added to the mixture.
We live in a, in my opinion a perfect world of music exposure. The media exposure of yesteryear was very limited to live, radio or records. Today you can listen to any song composed....ever! I hope with all my heart this will never change.
You're so right about the pure talent back then. We,of that generation were so lucky. We are happy to see young people enjoying what we have always appreciated.
This song like so many others (Bo Rhap) that have been parodied and covered so much that alot of depth, soul and beauty of the song itself gets overlooked. The vocals here are absolutely perfect. They nail the key changes in such a smooth and unique way that it gives the song a seemingly countinous flow. Its a beautifully preformed song that's more than just "That song from that Patrick Swayze movie". Bohemian Rhapsody is finally starting to be viewed as more than a novelty song so hopefully other songs follow suit.
When I was probably, 12-13 my mom and I went to Vegas for a family vacation and my very first concert was seeing the Righteous Brother's...
