There's a biological reason around men why don't cry so much the male tear duct is recessed 200% further into the eye socket then the woman so it takes twice as much emotional weight to cause the tear.

@@stalinjoesph700 Not all of us baby boomers are responsible for the mess this country is in. Many of us fought for, protested against, and stood up to the federal government. It's not us you need to be blaming. It's our corrupt government that seeks at every path to divide us. If we ever come together we will be a force to be feared and the government will learn its place: servants to the citizens, not their masters.

This song is written for: suicidal persons, lonely persons, people going through medical problems, loving caregivers, young people who don’t have loving parents, a jilted relationship, a loss of a loved one, it goes on & on & on, because we live in a time when everybody hurts, no matter who they are!😑

@@GetOnTheFloor82 thank you so much. This is snowballing. Desmond Robinson's sister just died of Covid. Ripped the bandages off everything. I was his white roommate, Kelli was his sister. She didn't approve of our living arrangements. She told me she didn't like me living with her brother. She died, I was invited to funeral arrangements. I didn't know what to do. Kelli didn't like me. I had no feelings about her except sadness that she hated me being her brother's roommate because I am white. I know different people feel differently about who is appropriate to attend funeral services. Kelli didn't like me. I felt so sad about her death. That family losing another? Awful. I chose not to attend her zoom service, because I thought it was disrespectful. Other white friends of mine reported tears, sobbing over Kelli"s death. I really don't know what to think. I am truly looking inward to see if my own unconscious thoughts might be racist. I am perplexed, unutterably sad and confused. I know I will continue to examine myself and root out any awfulness. Right now I am wrestling with why I didn't like Kelli. Was it because she was awful to me? She was. How much because she was grating? She was. Was her being black part of it? Yes. I am thinking and feeling very thoroughly about all of it. I know if Skip were alive he would help me through this, my beloved Skip. My good friend. My benefactor.

Fifty years ago I came so close to ending my life. My parents told me over and over how much they hated me. I was ten at the time, and so very alone. And one day a person became a friend. Some one valued me, and that got me through. Thirty five years ago I got help for the rage that was planted in me, and while it was a long journey, I found peace. And I never doubt the value of a friend.

I knew you'd cry at this one, real men cry. You're a wonderful, kind sensitive soul. As I always say, a smile can save a life, I'm living testimony. A stranger, an African man, when I lived in Cape Town, smiled at me one day, I was on the brink of taking my own life. That stopped me, I thought he saw something to smile at in me, maybe I'm not as worthless as I imagined I was. This song was always on the radio, after my second parent passed, my mam in 1995, I was home alone a lot, when this would come on, I felt it was mam talking to me, advising me to hang on, this too shall pass, what I was feeling was normal. I'm extremely sensitive, as are you, in fact, I feel that you're an empath and healer too, as I have been told I am by several of both. Maybe your calling, is to react to songs on here, that are universal. If I had watched you react to this, when I was grieving, it would have comforted me. You are helping many souls already. God bless your work, and wisdom at such a young age ❤

There is a tremendous need in all societies for people who can repress their emotions in the moment of action and chaos, when all those who cannot are overcome. We ask men to repress their pain, their anger, their fear, their hurt in the face of suffering, and I think sometimes that women forget (or never really considered) that these habits are not a light switch to be flicked on and off as it suits others. A few people can open and shut on command; most if us have predispositions in one direction or the other, reinforced by habit and group need.

You are right, you never know when the smile or frown you give someone will turn the tide for them one way or the other. We must be the good we want to see in the world. Having emotions is human. Showing them is healthy. Working through grief, sadness, depression, it’s possible. When you see yourself getting too close to the end, get help. Please, please reach out. As a black man, yes your black mom and dad said, " man up." Sometimes one hurts, but they dont have time to cry , man, woman and child and if youre black, yes, there are times we have to stay strong. So you dont just throw away that wisdom, but know when you do or dont have to, " man up." Dont let others persuade you that your ancestors wisdom is no longer necessary.

"Man up" is one of the stupidest things anyone ever said. It's like telling someone with depression to "snap out of it". Utterly pointless, completely unhelpful and possibly dangerous.
Showing your feelings is the pressure valve we all need sometimes, don't ever, ever be afraid to be yourself. That's the sign of a real man, not all the macho bullshit we're fed on.
Well done for being the man you are, not the one others expect.
    Much love.

It's not stupid. It's basically a simplified explanation of stoicism. " Keep swimming", " keep moving", " man up". The nature of man is to overcome things. The harsh reality is not everyone can make it in life. We live in the easiest time in human history.

There is a few select situations, were you can use it though. But yeah. Some hate the phrase. It all depends on the situation, so use it carefully. 😉
As for me, I am way past that thinking pattern. These words mean nothing to me. If someone said that to me, I would not react in any way to them. No mental reaction, no physical reaction. I would just reply with a simple "And when will you say please"? After all, it is just words and nothing else.
To be honest, if people have a problem with the phrase, then one have to be able and alowed to say that they have a problem with it. In the end, what is the core issue anyway? Just words man, just words. And if you get past all this, then the words renders non valid, and they will not be used anymore.
      When you change your mind....
1: You dont realise what they are.
2: You realise what they are and you become political correct in your language.
3: You get past that shit, the words render invalid, and they slide out of the language.
That said. In a war situation. Those words can be usefull, because the neanderthall mind of a soldier, still renders them valid and take them personally with all emotions attached to the phrase.
We are just past that shit. Are we not?

@@martycullison4095 Exactly. The failure on everyone around you. Was that you were not taught that the words meant nothing. And that you were in your right to speak up.
Personally, I hated gym as well. For other reasons that is. I just hate all type of sports, unless it is a single person sport, were people have to shut up. Archery is the best I have ever tried in my life.
You see. I was also born different than the vast majority of all people. My thing or lot in life, is that of being born with non-typical aspergers syndrome in mild degree. You were born with the ability to only be able to have a male partner. I was born with extreme sensitivity. I just hope you found your place in life, as I have found mine.
I make it a goal of life, to teach my children these things that I stand for. That way they do not get a tough reaction when exposed to these neanderthall ways of life.
I am not gay. Not in any way. Yet I am in a strong believe, that we all have a right to love and live with the person that we personally love. I am not religeous in any way. You can call me the man without, religion, faith, god or gods. Like I said. I am way past that in my thinking pattern. We live, we love and we die at our own end of the road. No matter what, as long as life was a good ride.

Being told to "man up" etc is such a barrier to young men learning to express their emotions healthily and if they can't then this can lead to depression and anxiety. i LOVE watching your reactions and especially your love of classical and opera music. Keep doing what you do and it'll really help break down these old school barriers. Thank you.

We're all too busy tryin' to get ahead to just realize we're all in this together...and like the someone once said, "No one gets out alive". So many times I wished we could feel free to just hug.

My dad was the rare man who cry in public and not give AF. I didn't know for a long time that he was the exception. Men who skow emotions, all of them are real men.

Interesting, this was a much bigger hit in other countries, except the USA, where it only charted at #29 on the Billboard chart (although the video was in regular rotation).
    SEARING and POWERFUL SONG ~*
