Fun fact: "All Our Days" was written by Jeff (the composer) for his daughter, Casey (the singer). I heard she cried when she realized that on the first attempt to sing it.
And it gets even better when you realize that the thumbnail for the song here is Yang and _her_ dad.
I have no clue how she can sing it without crying. Heck, the song isn't about me and I can't listen to it without crying lmao
Damn. That's got some oomph in realizing that.
Theera of RUBY's rise to popularity was so unique and emotional.
You guys missed it, but in the second verse of ‘Dream Come True’ when it calls Weiss ‘Uptight’ you can hear Weiss in the background indignantly yelling “HEY!”
3:10 I love how he corrected himself and said “doctor” 😂 like oobleck would have corrected him
I think the cool thing about Sacrifice is the more you watch, the more perspectives you realize it could be.
Indeed, its one helluva song to listen to again after the more recent episodes.
Personal i think its first part is raven talking to summer then it switches to raven berating ozpin
@@AztechHydra Greetings from Volume 9 Chapter 10 (IYKYK)
@@jonjohns8145 indeed but shhhh spoilers
We're sure it refers to Cinder, Salem or Ozpin/Ozma, but whose POV is this song from?
Sacrifice is likely the most controversial and open to interpretation song in Rwby period. I will say, the visuals presented here aren’t normally associated with its origins and I encourage you to go back in later volumes and give it another listen to. ^^
That song feels so different with what we know now, especially post Volume 6. Shifted my perspective entirely.
To me it really invokes cinder, in delivery, content, and from what what know now. Tho it definitely also gives generic villain song
This is why is one of my favorite songs ever. It fits perfectly with so many perspectives and characters, it's incredible!
@@lemonkatze7461 I personally think it fits by far the best with the masked woman who saved Yang.
@@KitsyX with out a doubt it’s about her, the lyrics fit perfectly with her general attitude.
I don't think there's a definitive POV for the song Sacrifice but I've always believed it's Raven (Yang mom) singing to Ruby's mom as she's dying at the start and then the song shifts to Raven talking directly to Ozpin about how she won't be part of his games anymore.
😯 that’s quite a way to look at it. Thanks for the perspective 😀
In Boop there's a mention of Magnhild (Hold Magnhild I think I'm gonna faint). Magnhild is something that isn't ever mentioned in the show or World of Remnant but it's Nora's weapon's name. In fact most of the weapons in the show have names but Crescent Rose is the only one that has been said in the show up through Volume 2 and I can only think of one other time a weapon's name was mentioned later in the show. So if you want to know the names are:
Ruby: Crescent Rose
Weiss: Myrtenaster
Blake: Gambol Shroud
Yang: Ember Celia
Jaune: Crocea Mors
Nora: Magnhild
Pyrrha: Milo (her sword) and Akouo (her shield)
Ren: Stormflower
Roman Torchwick: Melodic Cudgel
Neo: Hush
Cinder: Midnight
Mercury: Talaria
Emerald: Thief's Respite
Glynda: The Disciplinarian
Port: Blowhard
Oobleck: Antiquity's Roast
Huh. Didn't know Cinder, Merc and Em had named weapons (considering Cinder makes hers out of thin air and doesn't actually have one)
Cinder didn't always make hers out of thin air.
Ember Celica is named in Yang v Tifa,
Coco: Gianduja
One thing alot of people dont pick up on about RWBY is that most things are explained or shown later, but can be figured out sooner if you have good comprehensive skills. You two are good at picking up on thing. Ken is very close about the moon, and Beth is technically half right about Nora and Ren.
oh definitely. of course sometimes they are blatant about things there's the one song that isn't about Yang's bike, but they dropped a lot of hints before and after that
Sacrifice is about a character who haven't been introduced yet.
Well, she has been introduced, just not by name
All Our Days becomes more impactful when you remember Yangs talk with Blake about how her mom left her as a kid
they hit that note 0:30 lmao
Track Listing:
Time to Say Goodbye 0:23
Die 3:45
Shine 7:02
Dream Come True 11:21
Caffeine 15:34
All Our Days 18:39
Boop 23:14
Sacrifice 26:40
What's great about a lot of the volume 2 soundtrack is that almost every song is foreshadowing something way later down the line. Some of the lyrics seem innocuous, then something happens in the later volumes, and you just kinda go "OH". At least, that's what happened with me once more information came out later
Time to Say Goodbye: of course is the intro
Die: played during RWBY vs Torchwick in the mech suit
Shine: when Jaune showed up in a dress and JNPR did their synch dance
Dream Come True: only in the soundtrack
Caffine: when team CVFY (coffee) showed up to the breach in the finale
All Our Days: only in the soundtrack
Boop: only in the soundtrack (although the music does show up in a later volume)
Sacrifice: end credits
Be sure to listen to Sacrifice again after V6, good analysis so far.
so the caffine song the reason why theres coffee puns is cuz the team u seen to the right is team CFVY(pronounced coffee)
Volume 2 Soundtrack run down:
-- Time to Say Goodbye - My second favorite of the OPs. It just really gets you hyped. For the longest time it was my favorite but then it was sadly dethroned by a later volume. Had to happen eventually I suppose.
-- Die - This was during the Roman vs RWBY mech fight in episode 4. Pretty solid track and really hitting that ominous and dark quota.
-- Shine - During the JNPR dance sequence in episode 7. Very nice dance song for our Arkos shippers.
-- Dream Come True - Believe that was the episode 6 credits. Arkos shipping again which is adorable. I love the digs at Weiss, lol. Reminding everyone that Pyrrha is just a 17 year old girl.
-- Caffeine - Episode 12 and the entrance of Team CFVY. I hate this rap. Most of the time I think the raps are fun, but this one.... I can't listen to it without cringing a little. However, admittedly this song can pump you up. Energized is indeed the word.
-- All Our Days - This song appeared in the credits of episode 2 I think? This is actually a song Jeff wrote about Casey, so it's a song from a father to daughter and it's really really sweet.
-- Boop - This song didn't appear in V2 and is actually a nice little bonus track that Jeff made. It’s a really fun song and a nice bit of food for Renora shippers. Poor Nora is just afraid of letting Ren know how much she cares. Her and Pyrrha, I swear.
-- Sacrifice - Last Credits song for V2 and there are many interpretations for who it's about. Could just be the villains in general.
Curious, which OP dethroned V2 as your fav?
It was a fresh take for me to hear _Boop_ described as "silly." It certainly is a light-hearted track, but even affectionately I never thought to call it silly. Boop being for intents and purposes Nora's catchphrase, it was just always a really adorable sweet song.
And I love the "stage musical" sort of style the song has. One of the more unique tracks in that way.
Boop is probably my second favorite track from this one. But we stan Nora in this house, so that makes sense.
Welp comment section. If you love this channel then say BOOP!
Boop 😌
Boop
THIS, IS, HAPPENING!
Boop!
(Ren: What is happening?)
All the boop
I would say that only using Volume 2 info it’s hard to say how if at all Jaune’s feelings towards Pyrrha have changed considering they were barely in the rest of the season after the dance. However, it’s safe to say for certain Jaune has decided to give up on Weiss since Neptune gave Jaune the prefect opportunity (Weiss might’ve even said yes at that point even if only to spite Neptune), but Jaune decided to instead tell Neptune to go back and make things right with her.
I can't believe how many of my favourite tracks came so early in the series. These are all so good. and with so much variety there's a flavour for everyone! Jeff and Casey are incredible at putting it all together to make great character info pieces while also just making great music. And you guys get to jam out to some music while serving the RWBY reaction audience! Good things all round.
You guy's understanding and analysis of the show is so good. Would love to see you guys react to Mob Psycho 100.
Thanks so much for the kind words. Mob Psycho 100 is a great and eye catching title 😯
The last song definitely gets more relevant the longer the series goes on, and it is actually from the perspective of a specific character
You know, everyone rags on Jaune after these songs, for not noticing Pyrrha sooner, and I do love them as a couple, but I still like the idea of Weiss giving him a chance. Just look at Ruby and Yangs dad (even though we haven’t seen him at this point yet) he still got both their mothers according to Yang’s explanation to Blake before the dance.
The thing i like the most about RWBY osts is that beside the growth of the characters, we got to see Casey's growth as a singer now also writer, from beginning to this day, like we can notice even in just the trailets the range she has and how great her dad is with the music and writing, what an amazing family.
No spoilers here, just make sure you pay attention to the music. Depending on the piece it can reference either past, present or future. Prepare yourselves accordingly and enjoy the wild ride.
So many songs in this volume change meaning
Ah Boop that song reminds when I fell in love with this girl and yeah it was a good time a happy time
Alway love me some songs from the Williams, bonus points if lamar's there.
Two videos in row??!!!!! THANK YOU!!!! I just love you guys^^
The think about pyrrah is that she’s so good that everyone avoids her, inherently think she’s too good for them. But Jaune, Jaune treats her like any other.
caffine is either the best or worst song to listen to while driving down the highway. i think i caught myself going 90 while listening to this one time.
Bruh...it was obvious when we first met Nora that she was in love with Ren. Just watch that scene in volume 1 again. She basically comes out and says it.
So much of the lyrics are hinting to stuff in future seasons
Shine is such a romantic song
I always love seeing your rwby reactions can’t wait to see me of them !! 🖤🖤
I'm going to be honest one of my favorite aspects of any media be they game or TV series has always been the sound and music direction, a good soundtrack can always tell a story (literally in RWBYs case). I'd be interested in seeing you guys maybe give more of this style listen throughs of other games/shows Honkai Impact, Final Fantasy 14 are two such outlets you'd be familiar with. Another that you might not be as familiar with is Arknights (ps I'd love to see a "Last Of Me"/"End Like This" reaction).
I will warn however if you jump down that rabbit hole it will be hard to climb back out.
The moon line is funny... :D
looking forward to them getting to vol 6
Sacrifice is such a good one
Best RWBY music videos are from Flynt of RWBY. Flynt got the lyrics from Jeff.
There's nothing weak or damsely about Pyrrha's part in Shine. There's nothing weak about Pyrrha in any of her depictions throughout the show. She's simply human, feeling very human emotions, and how you view yourself in relation to her as a character has nothing to do with it and everything to do with your own insecurities. Call me triggered.
You should do volume one next!
They've already done vol 1's ost, between finishing 1 and starting 2.
I swear when I first saw this channel I thought Ren and Nora. Boop 😊
I'm actually not sure what direction Jeff and Casey are given for the music, because some of the lyrics are surface level, even dialogue from episodes in the season. And then some is... well... really far reaching.
The images shown in the song Sacrifice doesn't really reflect it
What you have to do to get the guy to notice you is season 3 spoiler stuff.
You guys are not ready for vol 3 because it's about to get real
wait unti lthey get to volume 4
track 8 on that OST?
Hi 💗
Fun fact: All Our Days (the song that had the visual of lil kid Yang) was written by Jeff for Casey, who didn’t know that the song was about her until she was actually singing it!
