I've got several 1911s....9mm and 45acp.....That little screw in the trigger is for "overall travel" not pre travel.....And once it's set you better properly use a good thread lock on it. That has nothing to do with pre travel. You do not want to touch that screw if ya don't what you are doing or you'll get hammer follow or even a get a nice range surprise when you unleash a full-auto 1911.....Pre travel or take up is adjusted by 2 little tabs on the trigger bar. If you want a nice trigger with that RIA take it apart and polish everything including the the trigger track in the frame....It's loaded with just as much coating as the outside if not more....
I have had 1 of these for about 10 years now. Only problem I have had is getting the take down pin back in. Probably have shot several thousand rounds through it. I bought 3 extra mags for it so I always have plenty.
I thought this was an older model, by the white roll marks. From the test rounds, it looks like 2013. I bought the 9mm first and right after they had phased out the the white roll marks. Beyond that, I don't think there have been any changes since. I added the .45 not long after. I replaced the wood grips on both with some nice cocobolo grips from Altamont. Both are loads of fun to shoot and not malfunctions of any kind from either. The quality is very nice and the triggers on both is also nice.
Love mine. Feels like quality. The sds imports is a much better bang for your buck though. Ria is going for $500 and I got my tisas for $399 out the door.
Armscor/RIA is very good for the price because it's what Filipinos use themselves in the Philippines. It's not some cheap budget pistol dreamed up by some faceless corporation. It's made with Filipino love and pride, that's why it's so good despite the price.
