Hi Jess, welcome back! Your projects are beautiful! I’m astounded by the amount of stitching you got done on vacation. I always bring knitting or stitching with me but never get much done. It’s absolutely no surprise your mum’s bags are selling- they are lovely, and funky and rad. I can’t get over how fab that bird fabric is. It’s so swoony. Your holiday stitching looks great- love the Blackbird yellow submarine. Happy to see you’ve recovered from the jet lag and been settling back into your routine. Holidays are lovely, but recovering from them is less than delightful for sure. Hope you have a wonderful week.

I love your accents, says she who is Canadian, and of course has no accent! The bird project bag is beautiful; your Mum does wonderful work. Thank you! I heard NZ accent was quite highly rated but I then hear a very kiwi accent and think it’s a bit harsh! Yea luckily we had at least 2 to 3 nights in each place - so didn’t feel too rushed… apart from the travelling in between part!

Howdy! I found your channel by searching "Satsuma Street" on UA-cam. My Mom loves Flosstube but prefers prim samplers so I thought it would help me find bright, vibrant designs! At the time you had just posted your first video! Thanks for introducing me to Gera! and Eleanor Rigby from Black BIRD Designs.
I have lots of WIPS! Most often worked on is the Jackrabbit design from A Year In The Woods. I'd like to make the Anne Frank design from Gera! and I think it would look lovely in the denim color you mentioned in the video! I would get enough to make The Stitcher's Regret too! I love your channel! Glad to have you back!

I just started a mammoth Modern Folk Embroidery piece so I'm probably not ready for it yet, but it's definitely going on the to-stitch list. I know I already have a number of Gera pieces on Creative Poppy bookmarked to do in the future as well. Hope you are having a lovely weekend. Happy to see another video from you! I love your finishes and plans. I may check out that faun piece after hearing the information you shared about it. There are definitely special techniques to use for one over one stitching so the stitches don’t slip under the threads. There is a short video by Peacock & Fig (hope that’s the right name!) where she demonstrates the techniques and explains why you need them. It’s super helpful. I just watched it as I’ve been thinking of doing a full coverage piece over one. Anyway, glad you had a fun holiday and I don’t usually enter drawings but I confess, I would love to have the bird bag!

Hi there, from an old bird living in Auckland. I think I'm closer to your mother in age, but have really been enjoying your Flosstube videos. I believe I found you by searching "NZ cross stitchers". Am a paper crafter, but used to cross stitch when I was younger and did the Jennifer Pudney tapestries, which I think your mum might have talked about. Recently Nicole Spohr started Flosstubing and it's reignited my love for the craft. A few weeks ago I made 8 project bags but they're not enough for everything I have planned! Wondered, if you have the time and inclination, whether you could outline what cross stitching supplies you took on the plane with you. We're off to Europe in November and my MIL said I wouldn't be able to take needles, let alone scissors, on board. But obviously you managed to. Love the projects you choose. Another favourite of mine is Stitchrovia (am partial to a good stitched font/saying), but I'm eyeing up some Satsuma St designs for the future. Keep up the good work.

Thanks for watching!! Ohh would love to see some of your projects! There are a few meetups in Auckland - always lovely to attend and see the variety of what people are working on.
I shared the travel scissors I took in my last video (number 7) - about 30mins into the video. They are cheap folding ones I got from Ribbon Rose - www.ribbonrose.co.nz/product/2905/trendy-trims-folding-scissors. In security at NZ and in Singapore I took them out of my bag and unfolded and both were fine with them (Singapore they did ask supervisor). When we did security in Germany I just left them folded in project bag in backpack and no issues. Did that on the way back to NZ and no one checked them. Never had an issue with sewing needles. I also took a cuticle cutter as my backup if scissors were taken. There are also DMC thread cutters you can get which are like pendants. Feel free to send me an email or message on instagram if need any help!
Stitchrovia designs are awesome - I have done one or two - should do a video of some of my older finishes one day!

@@littlebypikku Thanks so much for your advice. I watched your FlossTube #7 and suspect that's why I bought the folding scissors from Ribbon Rose in my latest order. Delighted to hear they have a chance of getting through. Great little scissors at such a good price. Figured it's not the end of the world if they're confiscated. I was more concerned about the needles - they're kind of a must-have. Haha - I have to be careful showing a broader audience my latest projects. It's been a challenging few years and I've been stitching my feelings/frustrations. My next project will be made into a cushion for one of my daughters, using a phrase she says all the time, one that I hope she only says around people she knows very well. Let's just say my grandmother would not be amused and is probably spinning in her grave. But I have 2 Stitchrovia designs ready to go for our holiday this November - Make a Splash and Eat, Drink & Be Merry. Would absolutely love to see some of your older finishes. Wow, that Bird bag is the most gorgeous I've seen so far🤩😍💗awesome job by Mum 👏 So lovely to see you back & visiting with you today. I love your "Yellow Submarine" finish & your new WIP "Afternoon of a Faun". I might have joined that SAL, but it seems a bit tedious to buy that pattern, as I couldn't see any option to buy the PDF pattern under the link provided, at least not with the Translate option in Google Chrome. I'm currently focusing on model stitching a couple of my own designs on 18ct antique white Aida: "Sun in Hand", "Mirrored" and "Journey to the Light within You". Another one is "Seen" stitched on Zweigart Turkestan canvas using Chunky Acrylic Yarn (finished size will be 130x175cm). Other WIPs I'm not sure I want to continue working on, are: The Village of Hawk Run Hollow by Carriage House Samplings & Jane Fiddes 1835 by Hands Across The Sea.
