    This is the easiest loom knit sock pattern every. Thank you so much for posting this video. At first it was hard for me to listen because you sound just like a very dear friend, who was from England, who passed away two years ago but once I got through the first round of tears I went right back to it and finished the sock because I knew that is what she would have wanted me to do.

    This is great, and really easy to follow! Could you provide any guidance on making a Christmas stocking using a 41 peg loom?

    • @LilyOak
      @LilyOak  4 роки тому +1

      I'd go for the next size down (36 I think) so you have an even number of pegs. Work half the number of pags for the heel, and take it down to a third of the peg left on single wrap. So on 36 pegs, you'd use 18 to make a heel, you'd reduce down until you had 9 double wrapped each side, and 9 single ones in middle before working them back out. X

  • @funnyfisky7842

    If you are doing the U wrap method (as I do) due to the tighter knit, I would recommend adding additional rows for foot size. not sure how much. I attempted a size 10 sock with 25 rows, but the sock fits my size 7 foot very snug. I think for the next pair I make I will do 35 or 40 rows and see how big that is. Good thing my mom has small feet like mine and I can give this first pair to her! I really like this method and its super easy to follow!!! Great video!

    omg this was awesome however my dilemma is that I have a small flower loom and I started doing booties for a baby but when it came down to doing the heel....I did not get it at all....it was crazy wrapping, really can't explain it. Can I adapt this to a 12 loom and do the heel as you have done it? If yes how many pegs do I need to work on....you worked on 12 so do I just do what you did on six pegs...I would appreciate any help you can offer. I was learning to do this because I wanted to give my granddaughter who is 8 one of these hoping she may get interested and try making these. I don't want to give her something that is going to frustrate the hell out of her and possibly never wanting to do this again. She lives on the other side of country from me so I am not able to teach her once I have learned. The good news is I can always get her father to watch this video and help her out. I have subscribed can't wait to see what else you have. thank you for sharing you really are a good teacher.

    • @LilyOak
      @LilyOak  6 років тому

      Emanuela Davis Hello, yes just work the heel with six pegs, it will work really quick because you'll only be taking number of pegs worked down from 6 to 2, and then back up again. I've too a little break from videos but will have some new look knitting ones up in the next month. Your grandaughter may like the Bunny video I have on here as it's a quick project that kids usually enjoy. X

    I'm just beginning my 1st pair of socks using extra thick yarn.I was watching a different channel and yours & wonder why you girls don't tighten the stitches up as you go & make sure the bulge part is on the inside of the loom? Yes, I know it sounds kind of silly I just have to idea why you don't tighten u. Juanita (Newbie at socks)

    • @jeanjaz
      @jeanjaz 5 років тому

      Juanita, they will even themselves out as you go. You can mess with them as you go, but if you want to get done with your project more quickly, you will let them fix themselves. You notice that her tension does not suffer for ignoring the loose loops, but if it bothers you - as with OCD - go ahead and tighten them. if you don't enjoy the process you won't keep doing projects. :)

      They are naturally pretty "slouchy", if you watch the "Pussy Cat Hat" or "Loom Knitted Head Scarf" vids I have done since this one, they include how to do a "rib stitch" if you do the first 5-10 rows in this stitch, it elasticates the top and they stay up.

      Do a cast on, then knit 12 rounds of K2. P2. (Rib) This way the sock will stay up.

      if you want to when you finish you could hand stitch a rim of elastic around the top or sinch it a little bit so that it stays up.
