Charlie - Thanks so much for sharing these 'behind the scenes' stories of Anthrax and the other folks that have been included in this series. Your fans are still as rabid as they were in the early days!!!! I know I am! Listening to N.F.L. right now...it is a N.F.L. with Anthrax to listen to. \m/
These are the best vids ever so interesting I love it been a fan since fistful so it'd great to hear the story's from every era well done guys great job Charlie you need to sell that pot hoodie again it just looks so cool
This is better than actually listening to the music itself. As a geek of music this is the shit at live for. It's like being let into Pandora's Box. Hate to say it without the pandemic we don't get this sort of stuff. These guys would be on Toure with a new record and we would hear none of this nor would we get any of the killer cover stuff Charlie has done over the past year. Mother Love Bone crown-of-thorns are you kidding me!!!
I still have my ticket stub from 1986 Metallica master of puppets with Anthrax supporting, Edinburgh, Scotland september 12th i think it was ( without looking for the ticket to check)
00:40 Big Four was exactly what us fans wanted... couldn't wait for these bands to get together & take over the world.. bust through the "pop radio" format with such force that mainstream would be forced to finally acknowledge thrash metal.
This is so cool. It looks like when it's done, this will be approximately 5 hours long. I've always loved documentaries on bands, and this one is shaping up to be the longest one for any band. I haven't really heard anything yet that I didn't already know, but that's okay.
I'm loving these episodes. It's like a documentary that, together, will be amazing. P.D: Thank god there are more episodes on Among The Living since this was dedicated almost exclusively to Metallica and Cliff (sadly)
Noticed a distinct lack of Metallica members talking about the days in this installment. Wasn’t expecting them to talk about Cliff, as it’s been covered before, but more of their experiences with Thrax. Too cool for school?
13:10 Cliff Burton is always hailed as a great musician, knew music harmony theory, studied classical music, could write bass counter point and read sheet music.. It is so backwards that thrash and metal musicians who are such phenomenal players do not aspire to dig deeper into classical theory and instead insist that the fundamental rules of harmony and tonality learned and written down back in the 1800's are not necessary to study today. It's not the 80s anymore, the information is accessible. In honor of Cliff, and many others like Randy Rhoads, everybody go study tonal harmony from a university-level college textbook, get the old used college textbooks for only $5, do the counterpoint exercises invented in the 1700's for musicians to practice writing melodies, learn chord function, learn to read and write on staff, learn to play and hear extended chord voicings, do orchestrations. 👊🏽
I still like Spreading Best out of all of them , however yes Among the Living had some good stuff but the biggest plus was The Production blew Spreading away, Im just partial to Spreading the disease album.
I had two issues with Clash of the Titans. #1. Alice in Chains...wtf? Kraken poop. #2. Anthrax after Slayer? might as well have been Alice in Chains part II...
@@qdaveq6597 I watched a Master of Puppets with lyrics video earlier and the lyric on the screen says "fix me", but I've been saying speak to me since like 5th grade! LOL!
Charlie, thanks for doing these in rapid fire. Because as soon as one ends, I want the next one to start. All good things. Cheers Brother
These Anthrax videos are a goldmine. So fucking cool.
My god.... there are some incredible photos shown here. I could listen to these guys and their stories all day long. The Cliff stuff was fantastic.
Grettings Charlie🤘🥁🤘. Thanks for sharing this excellent thrashmetal story🤘🤘🤘🤘👍👍👍👍.
I love this series. I’ve been a fan since 85

Clash of Titans (at the Spectrum in Philly) was my 1st metal show and the measurement for all shows since.

I remember the magazine I had back in the day labeled that large multi-group photo "Anthrosemetallislay".

Pancakes Go!
Right before that solo is "KICK SOME A!!!!"

Dave Mustaine looks like he's gonna be in the Sequel to the Coen bros "True Grit"
He looks like a white walker from game of thrones...

How many people are looking for a live version of Master of Puppets and skipping to the solo to see him say it?
I did! What does he say on the original though - "Piece of eight"??
@@qdaveq6597 I always thought he says "speak to me"
@@texasred4213 Thanks. There's another clip of Benante recounting the story in which he says he thinks James says "Fix me".

Pancakes !!!
So much hair 😂
Pancakes ? Uh uhh, its Spaceman. Pretty sure. ;)
I geuss from the "wink" that you're kidding, it's the "Fix me!!" in Master they're talking about, right?

Cliff Burton never got to hear among the living.
How fucked is that?
He probably would have revered it as the greatest album of all time.
