    Wanted to clarify a mistake I made, misquoting the specs. The lens is 22mm (ultra wide) and the fstop is actually f11, not f22 like I said! I mixed up the numbers!

    Larry, the biggest takeaway I see from this vid is the fun that you're having when reviewing the device. Love that and it's definitely infectious. Keep growing man. Just subbed.

    One of my favorite places to photograph tourist and shops filled with people not paying attention to their surroundings. It’s perfect! Your in the right location with that bad boy!

    Great review -- very "chatting with friends" style! I have one and yep -- for what it is, it is inexpensive and produces good images, as you said -- as long as you plan ahead for the lighting conditions and film choice. Having shot film for 50 years now with all sorts of cameras, I do have to say that the recent crop of newly designed and manufactured plastic point & shoot cameras -- the image quality is a lot better than the same style cameras 20/3040 years ago. I think that the designs are better engineered and the plastic lenses are better and have higher quality control. Making images that are more "shareable" (less embarrassing!!!) -- again, it's not a Leica, nor is it a classic 70s/80s SLR -- it's a toy camera. But I found it really easy/fun to shoot when visiting my grandsons (ages 2 and 4) in Ohio -- did not have to think about any settings, just point, and shoot! Cheers!!!

      Wonderful comment and cheers!! Toy cameras definitely earned their spot these days!

    Based on Sunny 16, ISO 100 film should work with those specs (1/125 shutter, f11 aperture).

    Your photos looked like they were shot with Portra 400 and sharper than I expected. It seems like it is like the original Vivitar Wide & Slim in that you should only use film with 24 exposures or less.

      The lil camera did the best it could, and thank you :) I can at least verify the shutter counter goes up to 36 (or more even, I’m responding from memory at the moment)

    So, do you have to only use 24 exposure rolls in these things? I keep hearing that, not sure how true it is.

      No, feel free to put 36 in there and have fun with it!

    which is better between this and kodak ektar h35?

    • @PhotoMeLarry
      @PhotoMeLarry  Рік тому +1

      I believe the H35 is a better overall value, it has flash, and shoots (albeit half frame) 72 images and the viewfinder view is very close to the resulting image. So I prefer using that one to this one personally.
      You can still get good results with this and the 22mm is as advertised, VERY WIDE, compared to what you can shoot at 35mm split frame on the H35… So it has its reasons to use it that differ from the reasons why I’d shoot half frame.
