Hi, i just bought this camera and I've had a little bit of difficulty as im new to the film camera industry. I need to know how i know that the camera is ready to use and shot (other than when the dial cannot be turned) and how do i know if the picture i took is taken

Welcome to the film family! So once you've loaded your film, you'll need to shoot a few blanks until the number on the top dial gets to 0.
Turn the dial to advance the film after every shot and once you've got to 24 or 36 exposures (check this on the film box/canister), you'll no longer be able to wind.
Once you're done, press the small circle button on the bottom of the camera and use the rewind crank to wind your film back into its canister. When the tension releases you can remove your film and it's ready to be developed :)
I'd highly recommend grabbing a copy of this Analogue Photography Book which is a great beginners guide to all things film photography: analoguewonderland.co.uk/products/analogue-photography-reference-manual

I’m pretty sure Reto makes the Kodak Ektar H35 which makes sense. That is the same exact body/mechanism as it but with what I’m guessing is just a change in lenses.

Yeah! Go Emma's Mum. Who had the better images...? 😉 😂 Great review! I really enjoy my Reto, its a fun camera and the images were better than I expected. Also, I LOVE the circular lens flare you get when pointing towards the sun.

YES! I should have mentioned the lens flare, I loved that too :) Emma

It helped me to know that foreground interest really helps with this one otherwise you end up with vast expanses of tarmac or grass in your shots

Normally I'd be dismissive of this type of camera. Not out of any sense of snobbishness, but mostly because they aren't any good. The results from this little camera appear to be excellent, allowing for it's limitations. This would be a better buy than two or three disposable cameras.

There are some great ones from Lomography like La Sardina, Fisheye and LC-Wide (which is at the higher price point). We sell all three on our website 😊

The beauty of these cameras (and others like it) is they are cheap enough that you can buy a few and load them with different films, of different characteristics and/or speeds and be ready for any situation. Versus a perhaps more dedicated/real 35mm camera like an SLR or point and shoot. Plus these are cheap enough if you break or lose it, not a huge deal (except for the pictures you might lose if you lost it with film inside).

Exactly, they're great for experimentation and are easy to carry around on your travels. Have you got a similar one yourself?

Do you mean out of the film canister? If so, you'd need to send the film to a lab like our Analogue WonderLab to get developed 😊analoguewonderland.co.uk/pages/film-developing
