Brant is just so talented. Getting groovy on the bass here. Plays guitar on his own records and is pretty good. And of course his drumming is legendary. His drumming is seriously far more influential than he ever gets credit for. He laid the groundwork for a huge amount of what came after as far as Stoner/Desert/Riff Rock is concerned. Often imitated, never matched. His work on the first 3 Kyuss records and the records he did with Fu Manchu is instantly recognizable and the foundation of a “sound” that spawned a whole genre. Wholly underrated.
Dastardly Badguy I prefer the Fu lineup with Glass and Romano, but if you are gonna have to replace a monster like Romano, Brant Bjork certainly isn’t a bad choice!!! I actually really like King of the Road and the Action is Go a lot. Great records. But I like Daredevil and In Search Of... a tad more.
i really cant think of any other musician today like Josh, who put out so much music in the last 20 years. everything excellent quality what this guy does. nobody comes even close. but even iggy pop said that in an interview

King of the Road was Fu's best album, imo. Part of that was due to Brant pretty much murdering his drum set on every track.

Agreed.
The guy is just pure groove, and he can groove on anything given the chance
I had no idea Ben Shepherd could play guitar like that. This album and whole concept for the album series is so cool.
He waas originally a guitar player
