    Salt in my dreams
    Tracks in the bone
    I've never been dead this long before
    Star on the ground
    Stepped on the lie
    To find myself born inside a stone
    I'm making a cross of all you are
    And up on the hill I hear your name
    I'm making a cross of all you are
    And up on the hill I hear your name
    I'm making a cross of all you are
    It's never been easier
    Salt in my schemes
    Dry as a tear
    It's never been easy to know
    Frozen in fate
    Hooked on a line
    I heard you say it could be mine

    I used to play this song with a girl I liked very much. I’d play acoustic guitar and she’d play keys.
    Then she broke my heart.
    I think about her often, and whenever I hear this song it’s bittersweet. But it reminds me of one of the happiest times in my life.

    My favourite Desert Sessions song. My favourite Alain Johannes song. I was lucky enough to see this performed by Sound City Players (with Alain) in London... it was HEAVY!

    So much soul, feeling and interest in the vocals. Brilliant. DS was worth doing purely for this one song.

      That way that udu booms and screams really makes the song.

    Was this an eulogy from Alain to Natasha?

    • @USCFlash
      @USCFlash 6 років тому +9

      No, Natasha died in 2009, this was recorded in around 2001

    • @NegoClau
      @NegoClau 6 років тому +7

      USCFlash This means the song BECAME an eulogy to Natasha... Alain and some friends played this in a concert back in that time when she passed away and he was mourning, and it was soulcrushing... so beautiful, and so sad...

    • @USCFlash
      @USCFlash 6 років тому +8

      Well i don't know if it became a "eulogy", just a nice song that they wrote.
      It was never intended as a eulogy since Natasha was 7 years away from being diagnosed with cancer in 2001.
      But it is a wonderful song regardless of when it was written and why.

      If you want Alain's eulogy to Natasha then check out his 2010 album, Spark. It's hauntingly beautiful.
