Alot of negative comments here even though the guy has made a good video... I hate those "it's a rip off comments" ... it's business

Buy your tyres online and then taken them to a tyre place to get changed, It’s much cheaper and you won’t get ripped off, It amazes me how people still go to Kwik fit

This isn't entirely true I'm afraid. On the face of it your tyres may be a few quid cheaper. However what alot of people forget to think about is by the time they pay someone to fit their tyres they have probably paid around the same amount of money as they would using one of the bigger companies to supply and fit

I've had nothing but issues trying to get tyres fitted that I've bought elsewhere.
Uses to be no end of garages happy to fit them for £7.50 or so a corner, cash in hand, now nobody will touch them.

Tom's Driveway There are also loads of accounts from people being told that work needs doing or the car will be dangerous only to find that nothing needed doing at all and they're just making work to get targets met and revenue. It is really sad that they can't be trusted. Small local garages where you can get to know the mechanic and build trust or go for local recommended is usually better. Let's not keep feeding the fat cats.

"Kwikfit are overpriced"...in comparison to whom? f1 auto, national tyres, halfords, ats etc they all charge similar prices give or take a few quid. The local small garages are only cheaper because they need to be in order to compete with the likes of these bigger garages.

Again another misconception that local garages won't rip you off. Bigger companies get better deals with suppliers to which they can then set a price giving the company flexibility to discount if needed and still make money on its products. Local independent garages don't get as good deals meaning with their cheaper prices they don't make as much money on the same product thus meaning they have to sell some more to make the same money.
Local garages only need to have a few quiet weeks and the owner will be struggling for wages. Big chains don't have that same struggle with hundreds for garages across the country.
I'm not saying every local garage will rip you off because they won't. Likewise not every big chain will rip you off either.
Big chains pricing is set by their head office so when the guy serving you gives you a price, he personally isn't trying to rip you off. He's giving you the price his company has set.
Being ripped off will depend on who you are dealing with over the counter I'm afraid.
Simple rule is, if you feel like your being ripped off or can get it cheaper simply say "no, thank you" and leave with your car.
