I know this video is old, but I've just clicked on it because I've got a very old eortal. I got it second hand, many years ago, ive had it for 20yrs at least, I'm not sure how old it was when I bought it. I live in Tasmania Australia and I love it because I find it hard to use my treadle spinning wheel as my knees are pretty shot, I'm waiting to get joint replacements, so I can now spin longer. Just a few tips I have, if your drive belt breaks you can use 1 or 2 of those fat rubber bands, or a rubber ring that you use for preserving jars, they last a very long time, and then that keeps you spinning until you get the proper band for it or you can just keep using it. The next one is as you get to know your wheel, you may notice that she will let you know when to move your yarn along the hooks, she'll start to not take up the yarn, subtle but she gets her point across. Not sure if you have leather bits that hold the flyer and bobbin in place, but it's good to give them a bit of oil from time to time as they dry out and it makes it harder for it to go round. Being a new machine it maybe different material now. It's very nice to see that other countries are learning about this spinning wheel, mine is very old and she's just as happy doing her work as she was when she was new. The very original wheel was made for the mans wife who had arthritis, and then her friends wanted one as well, and from there a small family business grew, but he's long since retired and sold the business to who I think is the current owner, although that may have changed, but they do a good service, and will refurbish your wheel if needed. I love my spinning wheel even if she is no longer as shiny as yours is, and I hope you have many years of happy spinning with yours. Cheers from Tasmania!

Hi, i am interesting, can you spin very fine / gossamer yarn on this e-spinner. Thank you.
I find that while I can get a fine yarn on this machine that it needs to go very slow and I can manage more control on wheels that my feet control. With the right circumstances it might be possible. Slowest draw, slowest speed and a silk blend.
Hello, can the Roberta also be used in the Netherlands? I saw that the plug different is than the ones we use in Holland. Love this video.

Is that a Woolee Winder or another type of flyer ?
Yes it is a Woolee, which I have to tell you, voids the warranty. I guess it burns out the motor due to people not taking the Woolee apart to clean it. They get very gunked up.
