- From Act 1 all the way to the First Ascendancy as a Shadow with no levelling gear. This levelling / league start guide is for Path of Exile Lake of Kalandra (PoE 3.19) You can use this method for any Shadow build (Saboteur, Trickster or Assassin) to lead into your end games skills.

Not sure why. I smoked everything just spamming cobra lash. This is my first time playing Poe though I’ve played d2 and d3

This is a great leveling guide but the only thing I notice that may be incorrect is "One Step Head" I dont think prevents stuns if this were the case when you take the comparative juggernaut unstoppable node the line item that states (cannot be stunned) would be redundant.
I think you may be right, I thought that I had read That a stun reduced action speed to 0, but I just checked and that is freeze that does that. Stun is an animation, and so the increased action speed will cause the animation to play for less time than normal and you will be out quicker, but I think you are correct that it won't prevent it. New player here, I dispise mines. and shadow was the fist build I picked, This guide was for power leveling, What is your optimal shadow buid at max level? do you stick with mines then because of the dmg boost or swap to something else?
End game there are a load of options. 17% of players are currently playing frost blades. 34% idf we just look at trickster. That normally indicates what the strongest skill is. I despise mines and I figured my own shadow leveling setup with ignite fireball (ele prolif and pierce/LMP) and then ignite Incinerate, works like a charm for me. The only minus is that you need to spend some scrolls of wisdom on gems, because gems offered by vendors after quest do not help you. Ele and dot nodes are obviously required.

Hey I know it’s 2 years late and there’s a pinned comment but I just wanted to say: one of my friends convinced me to get this game and I don’t know where to start, where to find anything, or how to play any of the classes/choose good skills.
I thought shadow looked the coolest and read stuff online about trickster being strong but have no context. I recognized a minute in that this is obviously a guide for seasoned players looking to expedite their experience, and then saw in the comments that you mentioned having a starter series. That being said, do you have any newbie tips for starting out as a shadow without any experience in the game?
My levelling series for shadow is even more out of date. I actually started looking at how I would level two years on. From level 12 get poisoinous concoction with Lesser Multiple Projecties and Volley. Upgrade to greater multiple projectiles and greater volley in Act4 and it will take you to maps. As for tips if your going trisckter go one step ahead first for the ascendancy, you can always remove it later but it stops you being frozen or chilled which will increase survivability until you can.Trickster is a really good defensive class that uses armour and energy shield, you will want both. Hello! Does orb of storms and frostbomb proc?
They don't proc each other. Frost bomb maksed them take more cold which means frost blink can normally finish them, Our stormblast mines proc orb of storms if you throw them out while stood inside. Hope this helps!
My favourite lvling skill is explosive trap just fun skill and become giga chad in act 2

You cold add the leveling gems under a "leveling" label. So did I, so ppl dont have to add them manually. As I mentioned b4 its good to have them inside the PoB for tools like Exile-leveling 🙂

I don't think this woild ever be played late game because it takes up two both hand slots and only has 3 sockets sou you would lose out on way too much power. Oni-Goroshi is similar to these swords in function but gives you all 6 sockets.

AFAIK you can’t get elusive from Critical strikes with mines and traps, since it’s them dealing the crits, not you, and it doesn’t count.
Yes, the ascendancy choices are really from when you move on from traps. Would anyone ever run traps on assassin@ Sab just offers so much more. Thanks for clarifying for all and for watching!
What is the rational for waiting until lvl 28 to use lighting trap, Why not use it at lvl 12 over stormblast mine?
Using it earlier the clear is slightly faster the boss killing is just no where near that of the stormblast mines. So it would be a slower run. I tried that it an earlier run because I'm not a fan of detonating mines.
How do u detonante mines so quickly, Ive been trying to search but I dont get how you throw with one key then detonate so quickly with another
It's just throw a load out and hit the d key to detonate, my throw is normally on rmb. Hope this helps!
Newbie here. Tried to watch this and learn something but you were going so fast it was pretty much impossible to catch on. Do you have a more simplified video for a Shadow build
I don't not a recent one. If you have path of building I have a written guide in the pob. This guide is a little out of date now though. I would level with mines to lvl 11 and the buy poisonous concoction and suprot with lesser multiple projectiles and volley.

I'm sure you figured it out by now, I started this build few days ago and i see that the mines have two skills .. 1 to place them and 1 to Detonate them.
Wait so in act one why are you giving added cold to stormblast and added lighting to frost bomb? also added lighting is a blue gem not a green one, did you mean to put added cold here as well or did you just swap the gems around and stomblast should get added lighting?
I did have cold on the mines and lighting on frost bomb. My frost bomb is the damage booster so lightning gives it a chance to shock further increasing damage. I like to have a source of cold on my main skill as chill freeze is a really strong defensive layer early. Sorry for the colour error. Thanks for watching!
How does this compare to leveling with poisonous concoction?
Poisonous concoction is a good option if you don't want to invest in the ele nodes. It's great for clearing blues and things, it's just no where near as fast on the bosses. The power comes from the ability to layer out the mines and just melting the Boss in a second or two. Also the mines don't appear to trigger the nasty rhoas until you detonate. If you hate mines it's a good option. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching!

Yes it will allow you to level any type of shadow. Just move top your new skill once level/Sockets permit.
@Altek2k Thank you very much I have been following your guide and so far I'm impressed with how quick I've leveled up. I had a lvl 12 shadow and I deleted it because I feel like I messed up the start so bad 😅
I always turn my shadow into a ranger… might give this a go haha

half a dozen act 1 runs without getting bgg wands, is it still possible? or is there a different gem set up these days? one run only bbb was a wetstone
It is still possible. They have changed the vendors so their shops no longer reset all items when you level. Only the oldest will be swapped out. This means that if you get a really unluck first run the same junk will be held for a while. If you fail on the wand look for it on any other item,

I still haven't grasped how to get enough materials and gear without overkilling, especially early acts. If I use wisdom scrolls on magic/rare items I don't have enough for gems and using normal items I feel like paper

@@panzerswineflu I will tend to go for white items if the links are better because a 3 link is normally alway better than a 2 link with a crappy weapon. I try to only kill blues. If you really need gear open chests and try and get any essences thet spawn. Essences tend to make the run much better because you can make your whites raare with a stat you know you are going to get. I have started a new series where I am running the acts. @@Altek2k I had started watching it in between runs today. A year or so ago I went through ziz and tyty speed run stuff but they're outdated now. The new one is really lite on information, just use stormblast and oos.... No support info

6:40 it took me like 4 minutes to kill oak and you kill it much faster.. idk what i did wrong
The key is to get all the mines out before you start the boss fight. Then once you click kill hit detonate. Then go back to throwing mines, which will detonate automatically as the current mine chain comes to an end. Hope this helps and thanks for watching!

Definitely not. Users doing search on shadow guide just want to know how to play shadow. And advice on how to spend points on tree. This is probably a good guide to power level to bypass the game. But does not apply to users who actually intend to play the game and learn what Shadow is all about and how the class works in depth.
You are spot on. This is targeted at existing players wanting to get faster. I have a begineers sweries that will goes over the game basics.
@@Altek2k OK. But users are looking for legitimate class guide. Like how to approach each class tree. Such as how Shadow works .Like as if ssf presuming no access to gear. Nothing Because when you start playing and planning your path that's exactly what you have despite starting on nonssf standard. Especially if new users should be starting on standard ruthless. So that they stick with the game rather than uninstall due to terrible balance that makes everything in the game meaningless. Ruthless is still pretty easy for new users. Just much less of a circus mess and better balanced with much more concise and curated structured design. Including very specific gem options as rewards to plan your build around.

No, Traps and mines are pretty beginner friendly. Quite a few people run toxic rain traps early.

I have to disagree if you have no gear and are going for speed. Spectral helix causes you to stand still longer and in the early game does not kill Bosses as fast as mines. Late game or with leveling gear it's super strong. My act 1 run took ~3 mins longer with helix over mines. Helix also uses a lot more mana. Thanks for watching!
@@Altek2k I'll have to disagree with your disagreement. Personally helix feels better since you often can just cast helix and then run past and most mobs will die due to the weapon flying around in a short radius, and often you'd link helix to faster attacks + onslaught in A2 which leads me to a question. Helix has a lvl 12 level requirement which means you'll get it at merveil, so I don't feel like it's fair comparing it there. But I think I can agree with you on mines bursting bosses down faster if you can set it up, but helix might do more dmg if the boss has a very large hitbox.
I welcome the debate and I could very well I have been playing it wrong. I actullay panned to start spectral helix from act 2. I was dual claws, maybe 2 handed is better early. It was certainly not terrible, but it was slower on the bosses. I actually gave up when I got to gravicious in act 3. I struggled to kill him, He kept moving and I couldn't do enough damage. The fight took over 3.5 minutes compared < minute with mines. Now I also tried it with good leveling gear and it felt amazing. The other thing is in comfines spaces and doorways its painful. The way it stands I would level a league start with it. Thanks for watching!

Started off great. But by the mid way you kinda made no sense. I'm a new player. And you lost me because you were going to fast. With no breakdown.
Sorry about that, these guide are really designed to help pleayers get to the end game faster, they are not really suitable for new beginnerss because of the pacing. There is a written guide in a link in the description so you can keep up at your own pace. I do have a playlist for complete beginners and a guide to each act. Mines have to be detonated. If you are on the pc the d key will do this. On console check your keybindings. Hope this helps.
