How do you replace the bearings?
If you are referring to the motor bearings, these are not available. And we do not have instruction on a motor rebuild. An electric motor shop may be able to assist you.
@@AmericanSanders I’m trying to replace bearings in the Hydrasand. Do you have any instructions or tips on how to replace all the bearings on the Hydrasand?
@@alexcuatchon2060 Ah, that's easier. Bearing replacement on the HydraSand is a pretty straight forward bearing job. @sandertechbrien provided a couple important details for the HydraSand. The two ¼” x 20 bolts that hold each bearing cup should be removed. There is a shim on the outside bolt so care should be taken to not lose it and be sure it goes back on the outside bolt (its between the bearing cup and the plate).
Be sure to support the inner race when reinstalling the shaft. An arbor press should be used to do this.
And you can order replacement bearings for the 16" HydraSand online at americansanders.com/parts-application/hydrasand-parts/hyrdasand-16
There's a different parts page for the 20" unit. I hope this helps.
👍
Im very disappointed in the epoch!!! I want to sell mine. I can’t use it for the life of me. No matter the house it always pop the breakers and I use a the power box
It may be best to take your Epoch to an authorized American Sanders service center to have the problem diagnosed.
