I really thought this was solely a GTAm review. But the turn this video took down Alfa history street is immaculate. Auto Trader absolutely killing it with Rory
The snake is called Biscione (Casa del Biscione is one of Alfa's nicknames) and it comes from an aristocratic family that has ruled the Milan in various periods since about a thousands years ago. The reason why that scene was used on their herald hasn't been found but among all the myths, the best one is that in which a Visconti family member won a duel with a Saracen warrior that wore a shield with a snake on during the second crusade. So he inherited the snake and put himself coming out of it The myth Alfa refers to is that of an aristocrat whose son was eaten by a snake. He went searching for the snake and kills it in a duel, and while passing away the snake spits his son

You have developed enormously. After hagerty, this is the channel you have to watch when it comes to automobiles. Interesting, full of information and not as silly as carwow etc. Keep it up Rory 👍🏼✌🏼
One of the best videos from you ever Rory..! This was so freaking awesome. Thank you! I grew up with the crappy era I guess, but I liked the 164 sedan. Also remember seeing a lot of Spyder's around when I was growing up (West Coast, USA).
"I hope to God that the 500 people who are lucky enough to buy these cars actually use them rather than locking them away in a garage, gathering dust and value because Alfa won't do another GTA. What we need to do is to remember the past savour it but also cherish the moment. The GTAM is classic Alfa"- Rory Reid
Having been an Alfisti for years and privileged to have stewardship of a Montreal Green Quad, even I can't stop to admire the quality of the video, and the amount of Alfa history that even I wasn't aware of. Awesome video Rory, and for me quite probably the best one you've done. yet. Roll on Alfa !
Well, this video was delightful in many ways. Your enthusiasm for the brand is noticeable. The museum is amazing. Alfa is definitely my favorite brand of all time, so this was a treat to watch. Thank you!
My first ever car I have driven was an Alfa Romeo Giulietta “Turismo” in driving school. The moment I got in the car, I felt the love and passion of the manufacturer and its workers have for the legacy and craftsmanship of this brand. Great video, keep up the good work - loved every minute!
My very first car was an Alfa Romeo Giulietta Sprint so I'm hopelessly hooked. Alfa designs some of the very best looking front ends of all time IMO. The Character of an Alfa Romeo is palpable. The current F1 team goes a long way to reviving the sporting nature of the Marque. Good review of the GTAM, thanks.
I own a mito 155 t-jet, went in thinking it’s a fancy fiat punto, 10 months later oh my god I’m in love with the brand, the mito drives like nothing else, can feel the ovation that went into it, absolutely love alfas 👌🏻
Wow wow wow! What an amazing video. This is what alfa romeo is all about.🙌🏼Alfa romeo IS racing and has dominated the racing world for so many years against the big car companies like Mercedes. Their history with racing and street cars is one of the best.🔥 Alfa romeo is one of the best car brands in the world and it’s a shame how bad they have treated it the last 20 years
No doubt Rory had a superb presentation in this emotive Alfa Romeo production but the editing and filming by George Peck with Ben Cornish should also get credit. Great team work guys!
That GTAm is one gorgeous-looking vehicle. I really enjoyed the look at the Alfa Romeo museum combined with the great detailed history but when Rory started to drive these priceless automobiles on the track and give them the respect they deserved it just reminded me that Auto Trader is just on a whole other lever. Well, done. Very well done indeed.
I recently purchased my first Alfa Giulia ti q2 and I have to say I’m in love with her! The lines the drive everything I have zero complaints other than maybe getting the quadrofoglio. But even then I have no complaints the four cylinder feels like a rocket ship in its own. The history shows through, everytime I drive it’s like she’s begging me for more speed and begging to hit the corners harder she wants to go! Thank you Alfa you created a new future classic with the giulia.
Rory you have a talent. You make every minute informative and enjoyable. This is your niche, always be as relaxed as you seem here and enjoy. Alfa’s ehh? Gotta love ‘em!
I couldn't agree more with the notion of more recent Alfa leaving us wanting, but ever since i laid eyes on Giulia, I've wanted her ever since and i must have her.
I think this is your best film yet. Stunning images, fantastic, rarely filmed historic cars and storytelling tying it all in with the current cream of the crop from Alfa. Forza Rory, George & Ben!
I'm no expert, but the quality of this video for me is a 10/10! The content was engaging, informative, and superbly presented. Very well done, Rory and team. It seems Alpha are making a massive comeback on the motorsport scene.
What a car 😍🔥❤️💪 i have 3 Alfa Romeos, last year I recieved my Giulia GTA 😊 There is NOTHING on the streets like the GTA or GTAm... NOTHING! ❤️🐍 Forza Alfa Romeo 🐍❤️
Great video! God I see resemblance with SAAB & Alfa back in the day with their older models. Wonder what the history was with those two companies. Very informative video. A sport wagon combo would be a great addition or a roadster. That green is perfect spec. This car is insane 😮💨
Odd that in all of the Top Gear and Grand Tour I've watched, and for how much Clarkson praised Alfa's as the true Petrolhead's car, I don't think I've ever heard that story about how the Quadrafoglio logo was created.
When in Alfa Romeo, almost perfect gearbox made in Germany by one of the best companies in business, is called a "only bad bit"... then you know that you are driving something special. 🍀❤
I must say I really like Rory’s videos. In TG I found him lacking next to CH but now I find the later smug and RR really genuine with infectious enthusiasm.
Brilliant video Rory... I`ve always loved Alfa`s and owned quite a few, i truly envy you getting to drive the Giulia GTAm, sadly my pockets are not deep enough so i doubt i ever will..
One of the better videos that have come out of this channel and Rory & Co in a while, and they're all great.. the fact this pops out even more.. well that's saying something. Great video overall and its a shame this is limited to a autotrader youtube channel..... Nevertheless I am extremely glad we get to see it. Thanks!
One of top reviews I have seen in last few years....you have great skill in creating these reviews. I have owned a lot of cars and have owned and raced a few ALFAs in my 75 years. When taken care of properly they are durable and always a delight to drive. My first ALFA was a 1969 spider I bought new and kept for over 40 years although with many go fast mods. I would still have that if I had a larger garage. Current ALFA is a 2015 4C Launch Editon I bought new and it has been a love affair ever since. It was my idea of a raw sports car that is arguably one of the most beautiful bodies every designed. It feels the closest to a real race car of the street cars I have driven. I have a few very minor mods on mine....different alignment, uniball bushings, better tires, normal tweaks. The car is very quick, but still comfortable and while not a practical car like my truck, it puts the best smile on my face every time I drive it. Oh....and it gets great gas mileage too ;-) Sadly cars like the 4C or this GTAm are last of their kind now that governments have decided that EVs are the way to go....not happy about that ;-( By the way a member of my ALFA club has a real original GTA with a 1600 cc engine and the aluminum body. That indeed is a very fast car....amazing that a 60 year old car can blow the doors off the latest hot cars (although he is a very fast driver).
Oh this was next level production quality. The car has been out for a bit but the video made everything feel fresh and informative/entertaining. Great work!
Oh no you made me do it again, started looking for an Alfa after a disaster ownership many year ago of a 156 that looked a stylish car with the leather and analog clock and beautiful ride handling . But then started the dreaded knocking ( new engine and gear box needed) never looked back until now….
Exceptional presentation, made me want to purchase this car while bringing a smile to my face remembering my GTV 6. Once you own one, you become an Alfisti for life.
