Given that I've owned a Fiat Tipo before, I'd definitely get this car 😂. Yes the price is on the expensive side, but who doesn't want something unique, in terms of servicing and after sales, I've had a good experience overall from the Alfra Rome Jeep group, no problems whatsoever.
Great review doug. But the pricing is the reason why very few people will buy this car. Just imagine the alternatives that are in the market which present way more than this car.
This review was on the top notch, the reason I am saying this is because you showed us the keys and what you can do with them 🤜🤛 . Cause most of you South African reviewers you don't do. Keys in a car very important part that is why for me it very important to show the keys and what are they capable to do.

According to an article I read recently these fiats depreciate at around 20% after the first year so if you really want one buy it pre-owned in a years time because this price is ridiculous!!!

This car is expensive, but it has a lot going for it. Example the seats and doors are in leather plus alcantara. Moreover, inside the electronic key there is a real key incase you get locked out of the car. Sensors all round and the uconnect is user friendly. I don't have the sun roof, but then no one can cut the soft top and get in. There is much more and I bought the car and it drives well. My wife has the polo, but its a different car all togethe. To low for me. ;)

so Cliff - you're basically saying the Polo GTI price is also absurd cos its now R550000 which is in the middle of the 500X range pricing. The Polo is a B class hatch while the 500X is a C class MPV and thus much better value...... So the point is if you have R550000 then the Polo GTi is pretty far from being value for money - you can even get a Haval H6 for less than both of them so its actually the VW which is a rip off cos it's a small hatch priced with SUV's........
It’s a nice car but at 580k I will look into the likes of Toyota CHR and Q3s even used CX5 unless I am looking for something not practical then it’s a very sexy car

Fiat makes such beautiful cars it’s just sad that they want us to configure some of the things on the tech side when other cars’ older models come standard it’s absurd that Fiat 500x 2018 version does not have a back camera, sensors to the front, navigation system nor apple car play when a mere Volvo V40 2015 has all those things even 2013 Audis come standard with these things

Exactly the same engine as the fiat Abarth, same 230 Nm but the Abarth has 121 kw, maybe the X has less kw because it’s much heavier
