Video is very interesting. The dekra report from WeBuyCars is not truthful. I bought a Hyundai gets 1.3 A/C for R37500 in 2022. The dekra report only identified 1 issue which was the stabilizer link bar rubber which had worn out. When i took the car at webuycars in germiston the radiator was leaking and i told the sales guy that the radiator is leaking.......guess what he said(we are wholesale, we sell as it is😅). I took the car, drove it and it was fine, after a month, a steal water pipe leaked and that is when I decided to fully inspect the car. I patched the steal water pipe, flushed the radiator and then patched it, replaced both stabilizer link bars. Now its been almost a year and the car is amazing, just serviced it yesterday and I think its the best car I've owned thus far because I can service it myself and i can also do I lot of things on it by myself😝. When you buy a second hand car make sure to do a full inspection and change what needs to be changed before things go south

I bought my first car back in the year 2000, it was a five-year-old Toyota Corolla 1.8 gle it had 138,000 km at the price of R40K. I drove it for 11 years problem-free and I sold it off in 2011 for R48K. I must confess though I do regret selling it.

I was laughing throughout this video. It reminded me of a friend of mine who went through a similar experience. The guy bought a Chevrolet Spark 2009 model in 2019, and the car gave him problem after problem. The sad part he could not sell it to anyone, but he managed to get a new car and the Spark is just parked in his yard. I enjoy watching your videos because they teach people. Some people make bad decisions when buying their first used cars just because they want to surprise us.

Bro thank you for making this particular video. When I came across your content I legit thought you grew exposed to cars from a young age and probably learned to drive before the legal age. Little did I know that you're just an ordinary guy who recently bought his first car . But I must say that you've really been fortunate in your "not so long journey" of being a "car person " because here you are a mere 4 years later hosting car awards and stuff. Well done bro. I love your story!

My first was a 2010 Polo 1.6 Comfortline with a mileage of 220K. I enjoyed dealing with all the issues it came with. Nothing will ever compare to the first car that you bought with your own hard earned money. 😊

I bought my first car last year. It was an 04 Jetta. It was one of the best days of my life. The only issue they told me was that it needed the water bottle changed. So i had to drive it real slow so it doesn't overheat. Got the new bottle the next week, got my brakes done. And that's when the real problem started. Loss of power, hard starts, flactuating revs. After pouring all my money into it. They said the main issue was related to the exhaust manifold not releasing heat or something like that, and it would cost about 20k to fix it. And i had bought it for 45k. I was tired of fixing my first baby so i sold her to someone who had the strength and patience to deal with all that.

My first car was a Ford figo 2011 model. Yoh, that car shown me flames. In a space of a month, I was looking like a hobo, owing many people money. I even developed anger issues 😂😂. I managed to fix the issues and still own the car to date. It is now very reliable, I drive it to anywhere without worrying at all. What I always tell people who want to buy second hand cars, especially those below 100k, if you have 100k go for a car costing way less than that e.g 80k.. so you have enough left to fix all issues before you can start driving it.

Hi brother, good content, i had same bad experience after buying my bmw x3, 3D M57, 2010,from we buy cars, the car was very clean inside and outside, everything in original condition ,I have some experience in buying cars as this was my 20th bmw cause o buy keep for less than a yesr and change it, the only thingon this car it was missing a windscreen bidding, which was strange because the car was never been in any accident, the bonnet even still had the original plastic on it for chips, and i overlooked that missing bidding, but when i drove the car from dealership on the freeway it started losing power and instrument cluster can go off and on, and on again, next day car did same thing and it started dying on traffic lights, i do service my cars at bmw dealership but this time i said no let me check out this guy who helped me before, went there and theu diagnosed the car and told me it needs fuel pump and i spend 8k on it and car still do the same ,went to another mechanic and he found oil in fuse box all the relays and fuses were full of oil which was strange, i had to buy engine relays which costed me 4k car was fine for a day next day same problem this time i was fade up and went to bmw, they diagnosed the car and found that it was diesel regulation valve which costs R3800 and serviced the car all costs 8k then they found cvc the exhaust regulation value was responsible for power drop too it was leaking on top and you can see it was black the part alone costs 15k all in all i spend 45k on the car to make it right. But the main thing everyone should be aware of with auction cars is that some of those cars get sabotaged by employees there who collude with some other clients who wants to buy the car there cheaply, eg someone comes at the auction and like the car but it is expensive then he makes a deal with the sales people to sabotage the car so that it devolpes a problem ,either not start or anything that will cause people not to buy it then he comes back and offer less money, in my case my car was sabotaged either buy the same people where they bought it so that they buy it cheaply or someone a potential buyer was waiting for this car to fail to sell then he comes and get it cheaply, the missing windscreen bidding was intentionally removed, the oil in the fuse box someone intentionally poured oil there to make the car fail to start which didn't happen, the car didn't want to die that way, a friend of mine bought a 7 series from the same auction next day it started problems and i told him to first check everything himself and he found under the hood that same cables were disconnected and he just connected them back and the problems were solved, so be vigilant when buying auction cars , the auction itself is a good place to get a good deal if you are a risk taker, but if you are looking reliability and guarantee then auction is not for you, because employees of the auction have buyers who buy to sell and those collude with them to sabotage cars even the auction themselves they can sabotage your car if you are selling and then give them the car to assess it without you being around, they can come back with a list of problems and a small offer then when you drive the car back sure you start to see those problems and end up selling it to them cheaply.

my first car was a used 2015 Sandero from a random dealer, felt wobbly on the road and the steering wheel would vibrate at high speeds. turned out the left rear shock was bent when i took it for alignment and a bro that was working on it got is sorted for me on the side. driving in the rain gave me another shock; water came in through the aerial mounting on the roof. :D.
then got a used Fiesta from VW dealership, not a single thing to complain about a year later and folks hardly believe it's preused. ho tough there by used cars.

Hi Baba Sambo, great story of WV Bushwa
I really wonder why people who know very little about cars would buy a car from an auction.🤔. Wait my first car was from a Wesbank repo Auction, however the car was a 2 year old so it was a well calculated risk. It was in a good condition no problems until say 5 years later. I am mechanically enclined with 2 NDs and a degree in engineering. I must say it's never a good idea to buy a used Vw if you dont know anything about cars. I have owned 3VWs at different times one bought used, the rest new. I'm contemplating to replace from old to new Tiguan maybe a demo. I do my own maintenance/repairs. For reliability, I buy Toyotas albeit boring.

Word of advice to when you've bought a second hand car, never send your car to Dekra for a roadworthy test.! They'll make it fail deliberately. Obviously any second hand car has wear and tear, but doesnt mean it's not safe to drive. When changing ownership rather use 3rd party companies who charge a commission but get the job done

I remember looking at a Polo to buy and the engine also had excessive movement, my Dad being a mechanic did not like that, so skipped it even though I love Polos, had a Citi before it was written off.

the first red flag with 'yanos' was the plate number design. that alone says so much about a vehicle and the previous owner. the second red flag was the inside lights which were led - that shows you alongside the number plate, that this car has been fidgeted with unnecessarily. yes - the inside lights could've had to be replaced but why put in led ones? no surprise that the car had rims on - the plate number is an instant giveaway that the previous owner liked things and you do not want a second hand vehicle from a person like that. the led headlights were just the cherry on top.
do not overlook the small details. sometimes you don't even need to check the car mechanically. small details are more than enough to tell you everything you need to know.

Would’ve been wiser to use that 60k as a deposit on a car just under R150k, then you’re paying for a Newer, less mileage and less problematic car with a monthly instalment of less than R2000. But it’s your first car and so now you learnt for future decisions
