Honestly, the Parasite mod works SO well for this, most of the Parasites already feel like Flood forms (and The Thing but that's off topic) and some like the Ruptures, Grunts, and Marauders basically just are forms, being Infection Forms/Pod Infectors, Abominations, and Juggernauts respectively.
and even besides fitting thematically, they are MADE for this kind of events with their ability to tear down structures and being tough enough that modded weapons that are usually overpowered become a necessity
The Flood is primarily based on the Thing. The concept was almost exactly "what if the Biblical Flood was John Carpenter's the Thing, a deluge of flesh rather than water?"
@@dashiellgillingham4579 No, they're based off concepts from Marathon 2 and the sci-fi writing tenet of "ancient forgotten peril that's ended empires". Have you ever played Stellaris? With all of the DLC there are many megastrutures (if you are the poor then only get Utopia dlc), such as a ringworld and a Dyson Sphere. If you consider getting the Gigastructural Engineering mod, there are even more to check out.
I’m playing it right now! And with all dlc, I can confirm the megastructures are really an awesome part of it. I can remember getting my first completed ringworld
@@Sbeevwith the nemesis dlc you can blow up the galaxy with a black hole bomb, also if you play multiplayer you can use dlcs you don’t own if the host owns them

@@StarLeader44 I mean it works, most people who do parasite videos just don't use it because it's "ugly" or makes the challenge too easy, but it's the best method for handling the parasites. They're weak to fire, can't destroy the lava blocks, and it slows them down allowing players to handle them easier.
This event was absolutely phenomenal, very fun to be a part of. I made a game of counting every time I showed up on screen or my replay footag was used. (Elibikerdude). Ended up with a total of 36. I would comically point at the screen and yell "Eli Cameo!" every time I saw myself.
Holy hell, a HOUR! I didn't think we got this much out of it. It was a blast to join along side my brothers in arms to fight ancient foe. I can't wait for the next event!

Surely as a base just make a kill tunnel with a one block thick choke point that can be opened with cobble or doors at night time and this is the easiest challenge ever no?
48:40 Hey, look! It's me! :D I had fun livestreaming this event even though I got in super late and didn't get very far before the event ended(Also was trapped in a small cave by the firebase for most of the stream). Can't wait for what's next!
This reminded me of one of those school projects where the kid had the best display, a super well researched and written text (and im not saying they cheated, i mean super high quality for a kid to make) and then proceeded to put 0 effort in the presentation, just reading off prompts for 30 minutes. What was made here was really good. But you do need work on your presenter voice. Or maybe the whole point is to go against the meta and im just whining here.
yeah, probably don't let the people who built the map and know where everything is located on the map join the event because otherwise you are bound to have them cheat or have an unfair advantage through remembering key locations
One thing I've wanted to know is "is there a way to turn off the parasite damage adaptation" because I'm getting sick of the parasites becoming immune to getting shot
okay so make a challenge version Players can _ONLY make add on srp weapons._ and will not be able to make iron tools or armor- so to make people *actually* hunt parisites. Please spread this idea around, besides it is getting _very_ tiering to just use guns to win all the simulations. By the way, sbeeve. Why only summoners and humanoids? why not add horses into the mix. Like take a idea like this: in this simulation, guns don't work & are useless against parasites, since the gunpowder from creepers no longer spark, making it only usefull as tnt. As well as any other items from the original minecraft world being extremely weak due to their _new_ adaptations. So, they will need to use the parisites *literally* as their weapons. This can work both on the incentive to kill parasites & power, but would also make it extremely hard to evenly fight without being stolen from to get knocked by a player with a mallet (about like 4-5 rupter Visceras) But it does make for a great unique challenge.
35:30 I was apart of the group in the center of the map we dug under a barrier and just lived there as it was completely protected by barrier and only way to it was a long bridge over the void
