    With my 130SLT this evening first time go peeps. Saw Jupiter clearly no red spot but clearly see cloud rings. As well as 3 moons. Also saw Saturn could see the space between the rings and the planet. I’ve never seen this. I feel small and meaningless after that. And you know what…it was amazing. Doing that again!!!!

    Watching the 127 and 130 on auction. Right now both about $60 but will see. Might have to buy both lol

    Please show the actual pictures made by those scopes for comparison. And there is no explanation of differences between 3 those models: refractor, Maks and reflector - their cons and pros. Not helpful for making an informed buying decision. I just decided the bigger is better (plus cheaper), so I went for 130 SLT, but was quite disappointed in the magnification with included eyepieces - only about 70 max. Shall use an additional Barlow lens to get a decent magnification. My next one would be 8" on computerized equatorial stand - the dream of beginner astronomers/astrophotographers, but for now will play with my 130 SLT - seems like a good quality affordable computerized scope anyway.

    Is there a noticeable difference in views between the 102mm refractor and 127mm Mak? The 102mm is often selling for less.

    Thank you for the video, though there is something I feel I should point out, I really don't think you can see Mars polar ice caps bc I have a 130 slt myself and I was just barely able to see the ice caps on this years perihelion. I don't have any of the other ones but I don't think you'd be able to see the ice caps with the other ones. I can however confirm that the 130 slt is good for brighter deep sky objects. I have seen andromeda, Hercules cluster, wild duck cluster, 4 other globalur clusters, the dumbell nebula, blinking planetary nebula, ring nebula, double cluster, owl cluster, some of the cave nebula, the stars of the north American nebula, orion nebula, and much more. The best ones are either the 127 or the 130 though I feel it depends on what you want to see. If you want to get real up close to stuff then go with the 127, if you like wide, quality views of star clusters and nebulae then go the 130 slt route, and if you like to have the best quality possible go with the 102, if you want something of good quality that you can just grab and go then choose the 90. Also if you get one of these the wifi module is an absolute must if you want to get the most out of these.

      @B.6 Only light pollution I have is 2 nearby street lamps and I live in bortle 5, though when I observe my house blocks one of the streetlamps

    • @keithfoster8257
      @keithfoster8257 3 роки тому +3

      @B.6 No worries, but it isn't like advertised, you CAN see the ice caps, but only with additional accessories and good seeing conditions, you can make them out with just the stuff that comes with it, but they are unimaginably small unless you get accessories for it, most important ones being a x2 barlow and color filters. When you have the right accessories I have seen Saturn's Cassini ring division and Jupiters great red spot as well as various mountain ranges and the ice caps on mars.

      I think you mean NexStar SE or NexStar SLT.
      It depends upon what you want to observe from your scope.
      If you are buying lower end of SE series such as 4SE, then better go for 127 or 130 SLT as it has a bigger aperture and same price range.
      If you have bigger budget then definitely go for 6SE or 8SE
