• CELSTRON NEXSTAR 130 S...
I don’t suggest using space images of better quality than you’ll actually get looking through either scope. It can be misleading to new astronomers.
Right,Reality Over Expectations
Agree
If you compare telescopes they should be of the same aperture size, plus you shall show the images of the planets/nebulas made by those scopes (before and after processing). Otherwise it's not helpful for beginners, who are trying to get their first good scope. My impression is that both scopes are good, but 130 SLT is smaller and more affordable.
1st video I find that helped after months of search
Glad it helped 🤗
Saying an instrument having a longer focal length makes it inherently "better" is wrong. Short focal lengths show more of the sky at a given time, long focal lengths provide high magnification but a narrow view.
Both will show planets well, the 130SLT will just need a shorter focal length eyepiece to make it happen. Something around 5mm would be what I call its max useful, 130x magnification... regardless of whatever the box tells you. The 6se can be pushed to 150x or so, but the difference is negligible. The 130 will show you all of the Pleiades at once, and will show more of the Andromeda Galaxy, which is by itself 8x wider than the Moon.
I prefer the 6se because of build quality, but the 130SLT is no slouch at all...
The question here is, do you want to look mostly at planets or other things that may be a great deal wider (deep sky)?
Perhaps the BEST answer is to get the 6se AND an Astronomers Without Borders OneSky reflector, which is the same optically as the 130SLT but without the electronic mount and costs only $200.
OneSky first, 6se second, two scopes that complement each other well and won't break the bank.
Great Comment,I Have The 6se,and Took 4 Months To Decide On a Guide Scope...Yes,I Broke The Bank😂,I Went For The Evoguide50ed,So I Could Image Widefield,Im Finding Now,I Need a Guide Scope,For My Guidescope😂😂
At 2:20 mark the statement that the 6SE having an f/10 is better than the 130 STL's f/5 is inaccurate. Telescopes are like camera lens; the lower the f/ number, the more light gathering ability. The 6SE is more powerful overall & great for planetary viewing but not as good as the 130STL for seeing distant objects.
@@JC-gd3cc ,Your Not Going To Find That 1 For All Scope,And The SCT Do Shine Inner Solar System,And You Can Get Andromeda Just Not Being Able To Fit The Whole Galaxy In Your FOV,But No Issues With Orion Nebula,Star Cluster Are Amazing With It,and Also The C-90 Mak,Is a Great Scope
Thanks for this video, you really solved my big problem to chose. I'll go for the 6SE! Really useful! Again, thanks
That was very helpful and just what I was looking to find for information . Now my credit card is going to stretch....
Glad it helped 🤗
Thanks for this wonderful video.
I am a beginner. What would you suggest? SLT 130 or NS4se?
130 SLT has a bigger aperture n have some issues with stability of mount. Which you can overcome with some adjustments.
I would prefer to go with bigger aperture.
@@TheAlienTechs appreciate your time. Needless to say subscribed.
I have an Orion xt8 what can I see with it
6se is twice as expensive in the Netherlands !
I've never owned a telescope before. I really want to be able to see the rings on saturn. Is the 130 slt a good telescope for beginners? thanks in advance
Yeah, It is good telescope for beginners. But go for 6SE if you can stretch your budget slightly it is much better... if you are really on a tight budget then go for similar aperture Dobsonian telescopes. They are manual n heavy compared to these two, but totally value for money on tight budget.. :)
For anyone who wants to buy either one of these telescopes, here’s what’s wrong about this video.
1. The 130SLT costs less than the 6SE.
2. They are 2 different telescopes. The 6SE is a Newtonian telescope, the 130SLT is a Schmidt-Cassegrain telescopes, and comparing one of the other should be put into their own standards.
3. He said that in the 6SE telescope, that you can see deep sky objects, such as Messier 42, The Great Orion Nebula, and Messier 13, The Great Star Cluster in Hercules. Yes, you can see them in the 6SE, but you can also see them in the 130SLT as well, and he makes the 130SLT seem like it can’t do what the 6SE can, which isn’t true.
4. The images he is showing isn’t what you would see with your eyes, some of them took with NASA and ESA telescopes, and other telescopes that cost more than these 2 telescopes, presumably.
4 Continued. To get these beautiful images, you would have to use a camera, which would have to be a camera that can take long exposure shots, or be able to store short exposure shots and stack them, with good quality.
5. I would recommend the 6SE for planetary observations and images, and the 130SLT for deep sky objects, but you could use both for planetary and deep sky.
Before you buy anything, research it to find out if it’s what you need, or find something else that would meet your standards.
Thank you very much
So, multipurpose? Which??
@@LandsPlanes If you are just looking for something that works well, yes, both work.multipurpose works.
@SBD PL Any ZWO camera above like 150 dollars are pretty decent but if you are looking for the best of the best then probably the ZWO ASI2600MC. expensive as hell but worth it
Hi would u choose nexstar 130 over Skywatcher heritage 130 table mount collapsible tube ? Thanks
Next star 6slt review please
The aperture or here called focal ratio is wrongly described.
A smaller value aperture is gathering more light.
The Orion nebula example is exaggerated. The 6SE will not show it better then the 130SLT or like in the picture.
6SLT REVIEW PLEASE
I have the 130 slt since 2018, the tube Is beatiful but the mount.... It's very very bad.
Aoo a maurooo

The background music to loud cant hear your voice
Music so loud hard to hear the talker.
Yeah, it happened by mistake while editing.
Please turn on caption. 🤗
Next time put some legit pics, cuz those are not taken with SE6.
"costs a little more" its 1000 more lol
What an awfull review. First of all, why do you compare a schmidt-Cassegrain design vs a newtonian one? Each one is designed for different purposes! The schmidt-cassegrain would be better for viewing planets but the newtonian would be a lot better at looking to deep space objects. In that case, you could compare the Nexstar 127 SLT VS the Celestron 5 SE, at least both are catadioptrics and similar apperture.
Please cut the music. It overwhelms the narative.
Too loud background music.
130 slt is the best in my opinion
130 gang in the house
Music is intolerably loud over monologue.
Get rid of the music!
My reason to buy a 8se is not about budget it's about my dream to see different space object made by God.
С картинками обман, такого не увидишь в телескоп, уни будут гораздо хуже. Обман!
