I know I am necroing your comment but it is because it actually violates Australian laws. To have Stan (or whichever one it was) being penetrated anally comes under our laws of a depiction of child pornography. As a result, it would be made illegal for that reason. As for the rest of the scenes, they were just distasteful.
@@tristman8413 If you didn't play it at this point, then you're never gonna play it. Considering how old the game is now, you have nobody to blame but yourself at this point for reading the comments.

I don't know where you are from, but in England, South park is pretty big over here, it has (from what I've heard) good rating's, and seems to be getting more popular by the day. It fills up a whole where I'm from, everything seems to insinuate boob and sex jokes, and south park actually makes them. I see how it could get boring, but for me and my friends, it hasn't reached that stage yet.
You described South Park perfectly Yahtzee. It was fun to see the giant orange bagpipe playing hippo when I was younger, but when I got older I got bored with his songs.
The thing about South Park is that everyone thinks it got worse at some point, but there's never a consensus about when that point was. This leads me to believe that it has never really gone downhill and, in reality, is as funny as it ever was. It's basically Monty Python the animated sitcom with a thick layer of crude, and it always will be. It's also a damn sight better than Family Guy.
Maledictus Templar Well lets face it, EVERY show degrades after a movie comes out and most don't get a recovery. Besides its not like as if Seasons can't defy this rule but just turn out to be by chance. Besides you can't make a full judgement on modern things, you need time in order to truly decide if something has gone downhill. South Park after the movie started to get into more current situations that we as an audience today can't really understand because it relies on prior knowledge. That is where you get the slight delay. Its a question of if in the next five years will South Park in its current form be able to withstand the test of time. That is where I measure the slight degrade because you don't always get the joke a few years down the road.
+xxjermxx70 I would say that with time South Park actually improved. The humor is now more sophisticated than it should be and it is more about being a current political and social commentary than it was before. I actually don't find the old episodes as funny as the new ones. Judging South Park only on first few seasons is a mistake in my opinion.
Maledictus Templar South Park use to be something unique and different that is why its so looked up upon. The problem with the first few seasons is that Shock Value is dead. The current problem with South Park now is that Social commentaries are dying. The problem is never ending but if I have to say which seasons did the intended purpose better, the classic South Park not only beats the modern but also steals the modern South Park's lunch money. "The humor is now more sophisticated than it should be" That is the problem of the modern South Park, not its redeeming quality. Trey Parker and Matt Stone are very intelligent people but the problem with having Social Commentary is that nobody will care about what you have shown 5-10 years down the line. Can you name any Sophisticated, Political Commentaries filled shows from the 90's? Probably not.
2:36 The most subtle, obscure reference I have seen in a Zero Punctuation video. The hole that perfectly fits Kyle and the statement "This hole was made for me" Is from a Japanese Creepypasta "The Enigma of Amigara Fault".
ok, so i get that a lot of people are only subbed to this channel for zero punctuation, but it feels like the rest of the uploads on this channel just got mad about it and went home.

Its hard to translate TV show in a game and still have the same feeling. Simpsons game faild in that aspect even if it did try hard. but south park didn't. Thats why i think they did a good work.
That's because Matt Stone and Trey Parker were involved with TSOT while all the Simpsons games didn't have any of it's major key members besides the voice cast to help with the game.
I was okay with the game, but the self referencing was just too much. It's like a giant bucket of nostalgia with a bit of new content scattered in between, and the nostalgia gets boring real quickly.
yan-Deriction Not to me. The older shows are the best. I can watch every episode again and still laugh. Me and my cousin watch Southpark reruns all the time.
I haven't watched South Park for a while, no reason in particular, the quality certainly hasn't nosedived, in fact it's far wittier, more mature and relevant than it has ever been in the past.
I do think it's a bit disingenuous for Yahtzee to claim redundancy of South Park's crude humor, when he himself is guilty of exactly the same thing. We all come to ZP to expect the same set of humor, which he faithfully obliges. It's perfectly the analogy of Pot calling Kettle, but luckily I like both the Pot and the Kettle in this case.
+aohige Kinda late haha, but wanted to weight in. He isn't calling South Park "repetitive" because they do the same crass humor all the time, he is saying that pushing boundaries can only go so far, as boundaries move. Yes, Yatzhee is crass and has always been, but what keep him "on the air" should not be that. The draw should be the review itself. And that changes with the times, following the new trends on gaming and analyzing them. So yeah, Yatzhee should prove that South Park hasn't moved on to new and interesting boundaries (and that's another discussion), but I don't think the "pot and kettle" analogy apply.
+Malcom Chase but South Park has "moved on" to new places over it's run. Compare Season 19 to Season 1 or 2 and the differences are astounding. The show is the perfect mix of high & low brow humor. Yahtzee has clearly grown out of the low brow humor (as many ppl have) and the game has a ton of more low brow humor so it makes sense that he's not a big fan.
I'm one of those people who also just stopped watching South Park. No particular reason, either, it just hasn't interested me in a while. However, I thoroughly enjoyed The Stick of Truth, and though I wish it would have been a little more difficult, I also have less time to game than I used to, so it was nice to actually play it for a half hour here and there and still feel like I was getting somewhere.
As repetetive as it is, it's one of the only games that I can play through more than once. Maybe it's because it feels like I'm re-watching my favorite South Park episode but I've gone through the story mode like 5 times already.
Admittedly I have kinda the opposite feeling. Mostly because the times I screwed up the abortion minigame and watched the blood and gore of accidentally destroying Randy's Anus for going too SLOW, or seeing his torn off testicles go into a vacuum tube made me feel like I could never put myself through it again.
Before they nerfed it, I skated through the last quarter of the game dropping massive AOEs with my mage and Butters’ ultimate move which could be easily cheesed
You should watch Season 19 Yahtzee. They made a noticeable change to the format and are further embracing the social commentary aspect. It's pretty smart now, though unfortunately they have to compete with Rick and Morty which is basically crack in cartoon form.
Stick of Truth was a great game if you are one of the fans that has watched majority of the episodes. It's like a drawn out interactive flash back episode showing the best of the best past jokes of South Park while introducing more of their current pop culture jokes. Not to mention the smooth RPG play to go along with the comedic storyline.

Tim Granger Wasn't the point of him being a silent protagonist to emulate how RPGs had only silent protagonists? Since this game is suppose to be a reference of old RPGs (Matt and Trey said that they were inspired by the old Final Fantasy games when coming up with this game).
That bit about the bagpipes and only knowing how to play scotland the brave: I'm pretty sure there aren't any other songs bagpipes can play, except amazing grace, those are the only 2 I have ever heard on bagpipes.
south park stick of truth is an awesome game, where simpsons and family guy got it wrong in game-form, south park got it right. Its funny, its a lot of fun to play through, it makes a lot of reference to old episodes. if you are a fan of the show, then this is a must. if you've never watched the show, you might not understand half the references thought

This seems a little bit of a long shot given Yahtzee's general opinion on such matters, but is the frame at 2:36 referencing that one horror manga with the human shaped holes in the wall? I mean, like I said I know its a long shot given how Yahtzee feels about all that but I can't help but shake the feeling that its just too eerily similar.

You are clearly a moron. 1) Final Fantasy is an RPG in the same way Beyond: Two Souls is a game. ITS A CUTSCENE YOU DO OCCASIONAL BITS IN. 2) It was a crap RPG. It was an RPG for people who hate RPGs. 3) Go on any game distribution website and you'll probably get a new RPG every week from it for PC. In the Steam new releases at time of writing, there are currently 5 new RPG games in the first 30 of the new releases.
I received the weirdest recommendation for this game ever. They were like 'it's great, it's totally like the show!', and I pointed out I didn't like the show, to which they replied 'well it's still a great RPG', and when I told them I didn't like RPGs either they were like 'oh well you should still get it, it's great' I don't like either ingredient. It's like cooking a mushroom omelette for someone who doesn't like mushrooms or eggs and expecting them to love it

Back to this review after quite a long time and will say that after having actually played the game I must agree to an extent with yahtzee's "Lost Sympathy for the Creators" line. Like... I played Stick of Truth at some ungodly hour of the night in bed, specifically the switch port because it happened to be on sale one day, and went through the Abortion Minigame so many goddamn times because I both didn't understand it and the joycons fucking sucked for the kind of minigames they wanted you to do, and realized that after some point I honestly would've preferred a crying koala describing how I did a fake abortion on Randy Marsh if it meant not having to watch his severed testicles going up a vacuum tube again, and that specific scene becoming the single reason that I will probably never pick the game up again even if I'm tempted to see what the other 3 classes do sometime.
+Lark Druid Well, I'm from the UK and think that from seaon 8 onwards South Park has been good. It has its ups and downs, but it is less poo jokes and more satire these days (but still has a bit of crudity anyway, as that is the style. )
Trey and Matt are still making South Park. And they have been on board on the Stick of truth from the start since they themselves are big fans of video games(and they have admitted that the previous South Park games were nothing but crap). Matt Stone has recently announced that he hopes on making a sequel to the Stick of truth.
We actually made a video about this but, playing through the game It felt like I was watching a long episode of South Park. It was quite well done. A few friends came over one day, and for a moment they thought they were watching a new episode.
I find it so fucking ridiculous that even after receiving our R18 ratings for games, we still have them censored.

Tim Granger Wasn't the point of him being a silent protagonist to emulate how RPGs had only silent protagonists? Since this game is suppose to be a reference of old RPGs (Matt and Trey said that they were inspired by the old Final Fantasy games when coming up with this game).
Oh hell how I laughed at the crying koala at the end.
Oh, Yahtzee, will your comically sardonic hi-jinks ever end?
My wifes a velociraptor!
Please review EA's Shitfield 4 and Activision's Call of Coats SP's. I want to have a good laugh.
Nice little Junji Ito reference in the middle there. It's what keeps me coming back
Is 2:35 referencing The Enigma of Amigara Fault?
I never seen him do a review this straight forward.
it's madness
Combat
That bit about the bagpipes and only knowing how to play scotland the brave:
I'm pretty sure there aren't any other songs bagpipes can play, except amazing grace, those are the only 2 I have ever heard on bagpipes.
2:36 ...did... did Yahtzee make an Enigma of Amigara Fault reference? O.o
south park stick of truth is an awesome game, where simpsons and family guy got it wrong in game-form, south park got it right. Its funny, its a lot of fun to play through, it makes a lot of reference to old episodes. if you are a fan of the show, then this is a must. if you've never watched the show, you might not understand half the references thought
I don't watch this guy and I'm just now discovering his videos, and I'm only about a min and a half into the video and i can't stop laughing!! 😂😂 I had to pause the video to calm myself!! Omg this dude's crazy lmao! This is great stuff!
Never ceases to amaze me. Great review.
2:35 W-was that an Enigma at Amigara fault reference?
"Cleverer people than me have been doing something for a very long time so I don't like it anymore."
Critic of the year.
2:37 holy shit, was that an Enigma of Amigara Fault reference?
Yahtzee PUT THE ENDING BACK
Having these videos at 0.5 speed makes Yahztee sound like he's on the worlds longest drunken rant.
2:36 I love u for this
This seems a little bit of a long shot given Yahtzee's general opinion on such matters, but is the frame at 2:36 referencing that one horror manga with the human shaped holes in the wall? I mean, like I said I know its a long shot given how Yahtzee feels about all that but I can't help but shake the feeling that its just too eerily similar.
+FANGSUP7 Yep, One ofJunji Ito's stories.
Found it. brasscockroach.com/h4ll0w33n2007/manga/Amigara-Full/Amigara-0.html
Oh there is fucking crying koalas.. lmao
Welcome to the nanny stat-I mean, welcome to Australia! Actually, no, I mean, welcome to the nanniest of all the nanny states in the world. We can't even drink or stay in bars after 3 in the morning or be let in to bars after 1 in the morning now.
Stick of Truth was an awesome fun rpg. Pc doesn't get many rpgs these days like final fantasy etc
PC gets news RPGs like every few months
***** I mean multiplatform good rpgs not pc only rubbish ones
john mccabe The Final Fantasy series is the only series you can really talk about there, and even that has mixed opinions. Also god forbid we mention the console only rubbish ones. Infinite Undiscovery? Thanks for that Square Enix.
In the Steam new releases at time of writing, there are currently 5 new RPG games in the first 30 of the new releases.
correction the original final fantasys was fantastic and when i mean original i mean from 1 to 9
4:32 "But on the whole" a little bit of foresight there?
That captain underpants reference is amazing lmao
LOL this review is hilarious
I love Zero Punctuation, one of my favorite video game reviewers.
I used to always expect the awesome drums and guitar after hearing the "HA!" escapist clip, but now i always expect to hear, BORN DIFFERENT
2:36 Was-was that a Junji Ito reference? Didn't know Yahtzee was a fan
1:28-1:37
An accurate summary of 90% of all game reviews
2:36 a reference to Junji Ito's 'The Enigma of Amigara Fault'? *shudders* ugh. I still get the creeps from that manga
How the hell does adding a pretty bow made that velociraptor, all of sudden that more attractive.
You have some of the best analogies I've ever heard!
Oh gosh the Koalas are real! Yahtzee has no reason to lie but I still couldn't believe that such a thing exists....They're so descriptive too!
2:35 nice Amigara reference
I liked the reference to a horror manga at 2:35 right there. Pretty nice.
ben yahtzee the only man who can compare an emmy award winning television series to an orange hippo and his analogy will still be 100% accurate 😂😂😂
I received the weirdest recommendation for this game ever. They were like 'it's great, it's totally like the show!', and I pointed out I didn't like the show, to which they replied 'well it's still a great RPG', and when I told them I didn't like RPGs either they were like 'oh well you should still get it, it's great'
I don't like either ingredient. It's like cooking a mushroom omelette for someone who doesn't like mushrooms or eggs and expecting them to love it
That Junji Ito reference is gold. If you know you know and if not still a good joke.
that space hippo reference was spot on
Was that...was that an Amigara Fault reference?
I think it was, yes.
I've seen the episode four times now and only just got the reference. I thought only Ashens could get away with referencing it.
I literally went to the next video after this and saw a commercial for South Park fractured but whole and the entire commercial consisted of a guy farting through a trumpet...
The whole "This hole was made for me" bit is actually based of a horror manga....Nice ref ^^
I love how perfect the analogies are
Earthbound reminded you of South Park because I'm pretty sure that Pokey was the inspiration for Cartman.
wheres the new one on the escapist?
Why are you giving the Escapist pageviews?
because thats where the new ones of this go
www.escapistmagazine.com/videos/view/zero-punctuation/9157-FTL-Faster-Than-Light-Exploding-Spaceships is the very latest one, which I'm pretty thrilled for since I love FTL. - Justin
Robert Grubb www.escapistmagazine.com/videos/view/zero-punctuation
All the new ones show up at the beginning of that page. It's also the complete list of every one of his videos.
I kid you not, about half a second before he mentioned the malteser joke I opened a packet :p
the timed hits were from Mario RPG, which came first over Paper Mario. But then again the timed hits could have been from something farther down the road, but i remember it mostly from Mario RPG
2:35 Did he just reference Junji Ito?
Yes, there’s even a page on tv tropes talking about it.
High brow topics presented as low brow humor. Perfect for Americans. ✌
+Lark Druid Well, I'm from the UK and think that from seaon 8 onwards South Park has been good. It has its ups and downs, but it is less poo jokes and more satire these days (but still has a bit of crudity anyway, as that is the style. )
2:37 I like Yahtzee a lot more now, knowing he's seen some of the same weird shit I have.
Trey and Matt are still making South Park. And they have been on board on the Stick of truth from the start since they themselves are big fans of video games(and they have admitted that the previous South Park games were nothing but crap). Matt Stone has recently announced that he hopes on making a sequel to the Stick of truth.
Before I watch I bet Ben will say. "Haha looks at us were funny!"
"Its ok 9/11"
-Ben "Yahtzee" Croshaw
We actually made a video about this but, playing through the game It felt like I was watching a long episode of South Park. It was quite well done. A few friends came over one day, and for a moment they thought they were watching a new episode.
