The music was never bad, it just felt like mainstream country gave up in the lyrics department and somehow pop-punk picked up the baton but changed the music.
You should check out hardy and his newest album. The first half of the project is slow country and the second half is rock/country. Pretty cool stuff. I think youd like it.
