Hey man. I get the first comment and I will watch but I’m just saying thank you so much. Been binging on your stuff and your delivery is so great. Simple, concise and very thorough. The Behringer 1204USB effects processor video nailed it for me. New, loyal follower.
I'm a PR40 fan as well as an owner. I like the way it sounds on my voice. Both amazing mics Good comparison video.
I have a PR-40 and use it with a wind screen and shock mount. I use it for work calls so the mid boost helps intelligently. I’d consider either a great microphone but would note that the PR-40 is sensitive to background noise, so take that into consideration if your background is noisy.
so you are saying sm7b is lets less noise in?
Keep in mind the SM7b comes with a built in shock mount and pop filter, the PR40 used here has no shock mount or pop filter...Bob Heil(SK) knew what he has doing having worked with bands like ZZ Top and Joe Walsh.
Both mic's sound great through my studio setup, with the PR40 being more crisp without the pop filters, but the SM7B sent a pretty good signal to my sub adding a good thump when moved or tapped. The flatness of the SM7B I do feel kinda removes some character of the speaker as it seems to flatten some vocal inflection, but I think the same will happen on the PR40 with the filters over the mic. Still kina leaves me on the fence mic hunting. Great vid & I really like the side-by-side comparison.
I agree whit you. But I think SM7B is hard to hear. To flat and to dark. Heil PR-40 has a nicer sound.
