OK LAST SAPPY POST! I seriously love you all. Thank you for supporting me and being so lovely and kind. It's been especially hard for me to be consistent this year, but I appreciate your patience with me. My videos are much better than they were, and I want to continue to provide even better content and advice for you. You are the reason I'm here, and I'm committed to being my best for you. Your kind comments and messages are just so amazing. I cannot wait to see what we do in 2022 ❤️
My daughter and I complain about our “shelf hips” we inherited from my mother. I never realized that was because of our short torsos! Thanks for the epiphany 😊
Congratulations on 10K Jules! 🙌🏼 Even as a personal stylist, I struggle to wrap my head around short waisted body types and how to approach solutions for it. As such, I find your videos extremely helpful and use them as a tool to expand my knowledge base on this subject. You're absolutely correct that vertical body type is also a big piece of the puzzle, one that often gets overlooked but is definitely something I factor in when working with clients. As a petite plus size woman, proportion is everything, but honestly, it's also something to take into account for every body. I'm so glad you're bringing awareness to it. 💕
I’m so glad I found you. My short torso has been the bane of my existence for so long. But your tips are amazing. I immediately put them to work and see the difference! Even if you slow down with content, please don’t ever stop completely. Keep showing us outfits you’ve found that work well and post them to your Like To Know page. I’ll buy them!! Thanks again for your help.
My Mother always dressed me in shirt waist type dresses, skirts and pants with tucked-in blouses...a sack of potatoes was the result all my early years. I learned much later in life the very challenging issues that a short torso can bring. Thank you so much for offering your valuable fashion tips that help make those of us with short torsos feel more normal in a society that seems to demandthatc one's appearance not be far from perfect. I'm really enjoying your videos addressing this and how to build an attractive wardrobe!
Congrats Jules. I am one of your subscribers and feel so lucky to have found you (at 50). My self-esteem has seriously gone up since I realized that others have a short torso and there's actually ways to make clothes work. I struggled for so long with wanting to look like a model or even my friends who have long torsos and couldn't for the life of me figure out what I was doing wrong. I so appreciate what you do for us short torsoed women AND I also love your style which is a bonus.
Your proportional piece makes so much sense and got me to thinking about shapes. I know the rules tight top loose bottom, loose top tight bottom but there is so much more to that. And when I actually look at an outfit I like I realized it was more about the shapes I see coming together than the so called break down of various fits. I hope this is making sense. Imagine looking at a fashion drawing of an outfit concept. It show strong shapes. Maybe an inverted triangle with strong shoulders or a rectangle looking long and lean. It isn’t so much the clothes as it is the silhouette they conjure up. So maybe it’s not so much the fast and hard rule of tight/loose, loose/tight but more about a pleasing silhouette with defined specific shapes.
Congratulations, Jules!!! Finding your channel has been such a game-changer for me and has lead to a lot of “aha!” moments. Thank you for your fantastic content! X
I don't know how you don't have 100k subscribers!! Your content is amazing! Jist keep going and I know you're going to get so many more followers who appreciate your content as much as we do! Your content quality is superb!! 🕺✨💪💪💪
Hey Jules! First of all, congrats on reaching 10K! Second of all, I just wanted to tell you not to sell yourself short; it may have taken longer to reach this number than you originally planned, but I honestly believe that you have changed so many people's lives for the better, and speaking for myself, I am incredibly grateful for you and your videos. You were the first person who explained that the reason clothes didn't look on me like they did on models wasn't because of some failure on my part (I'm not thin enough, I need to work out more, I need to diet), but it was because my skeleton literally just wasn't built that way. Anyway, you've been super wonderful, and I have learned more from your videos and tips than I have been able to find in any other place. You are a priceless gem!! Thanks for all you've done for your fellow short-torsos :)
Aw thank you so much for this note! It’s been so cool to see how I’m helping people. It’s why I keep going and keep trying to make videos you’ll all love. I appreciate you!! ❤️
Now I understand why I hate shopping for pants! Also, I am making a decision to purchase only solid colored tops. I have tried to tell myself not to get prints before but get sucked into them over and over again. When I walk into my closet, which do I prefer? Right, I always prefer the one color or max, two color ones over the prints. Thank you for great styling tips for my body type, Jukes Beth.
I really enjoyed this video, it was a different format then I've seen before but I'd loved seeing all your greatest tips that I missed before. I feel the same way about the wide brim hat! I have the same hat as you, it's too small for my head and I showed it to my friend and she said I looked like Smokey Bear.
Congrats Jules! I get asked by others a lot about why I pull up my pants / skirts so high 😂 occasionally my friends envy my appear-to-be-long legs (I actually just have a high rise). Only I know how struggling it is to dress up a busty and short waisted body. So glad that I found your channel. We are all beautiful 😍
I never comment on any video I watch but I wanted to say thanks Jules for your authenticity;) I’m trying to work out what’s going on right now cause I always thought I had a short torso. I thought so because lots of dresses I try on have waists which sit below my waist. However I watched your video on vertical proportions and discovered that I have a balanced proportion for my body!! So maybe I’m just short? I am around 152cm tall. I don’t know… Anyway thanks for sharing your journey - I love the way you care about people and I love that you are just being real;)
Jules, thank you for a year of awesomeness and helpfulness during such a difficult time year. I am short waisted and have benefited so much from your ideas and inspiration! Do you have any ideas on belts that stay up better for short waisted types with minimal hips? The stretchier ones seem to be the most comfy when sitting, but are not as stylish as those with beautiful hardware and leather. Also cant wait for your leggings /activewear video since it is still tricky finding active leggings that dont creep down but dont come up too high….. thank you for all you do!!
Hmm stay up? That’s a tough one. I’d try to find a really flexible/soft leather one that you can really cinch down. Some of the thicker ones are hard to get tight enough, plus they add bulk/shorten your torso. Hope that helps! Thanks for the supportive words Theresa!! 💕
Jules! I need to say something !!!! We’re literally our own worst critics. I’ve found you off your old videos (I just noticed I didn’t subscribe) && let me say you’re such a gem, even if you felt you were unnatural. You’re sooo cool!!!! -love, a long legged short waisted midsize gal! Keep going!!!!!!
I recently discovered your channel and am really enjoying your content, even though I am not a short torso girl. I am more of a balanced torso girl, but your content is fantastic.
I've been watching your past videos almost all weekend lol. Can you talk about the difference between having long legs, having a long rise etc? I did the hand test you showed and in theory I'm proportional but I still feel like my legs are short because I'm 5'9 and I only have a 32" inseam. I know you mainly focus on short torso though.
Congratulations! Well deserved 😊 Just a quick question in regards to skin and patterns... what can those of us that are covered in tattoos balance out how we look? Thanks!
Thanks Amy!! 😄 Your tattoos are color blocks just like your clothes and your skin. Depends on where they are, the lines and contrast they create, and the color. If you have a lot, they may act more like clothes. If just a few, they may act more like accessories (if that makes sense) 💗
So quick question - I have a proportional vertical body, and an hourglass shape - however, I am overweight. How do I dress to look my best when my stomach sticks out pretty far?
As a tall long legged, short torso person, pants with your ankles showing look like you can't buy pants that fit..... it does not make you look more proportional. It also makes my feet look even bigger than they are. Lol. I'd much rather have people looking at my long legs than some things. 😂

Yes so true! It’s all about shapes and using the shapes we have with our bodies to make the shapes we want to make 😄

Love your videos. Could you do a video on office wear? I just got an office job and need some guide. I’m a short torso long legs gal.
Yes! I’ve been having to go to the office more now so I have thoughts!
Congratulations 🎉
