Just hunted the last two days and had this exact situation with about 5 hens and 2 monster Tom's. Couldn't get the Tom's off the hens and now I know what I did wrong. Great video guys!
I'm not going to lie. I thought I was watching my hunt! The only difference is that I was in a blind. I was hunting a spot where the locals said I was wasting my hunting time. Set up after we regrouped around 11 and by 12:30 I called a flock in by mocking the lead hen. You did a great job calling !
Great great video. I am having this problem tight now in Pennsylvania. Been on the same gobler all week. Haven't been able to get down far enough to catch him off the roost and he always hangs up on me about 100 yards out. I am going to take this technique tomorrow and try to bag one. I'll let you know the outcome 👍
Hey guys, I really enjoy your video channel. Was hoping you might be able to do a video about the gear you guys wear for hunting. I've noticed you have quite a large amount of hunting gear and rubber boots. Would be interesting to see a review video on it all. Keep the videos coming!
+Mountainview Ranch thanks for the comment, and we are glad you like the channel! We have been discussing doing review videos for a while and just haven't made it happen but we can certainly start doing that!
Awesome video! where I hunt in Alabama, they're so henned up, I only hear a few gobbles in the morning and that's it. hopefully the flock will brake up soon! what mouth call where you using? it sounds awesome!
+tall pine outdoors Thanks for the comment! We deal with the same thing a lot so we figured others would enjoy a video like this! We are hoping the warmer winter and spring we had here in Ohio (although it is snowing today) will get them broke up sooner this year! The mouth call was a HS strut and was either a power V or split v III. They are good calls and always can get a 3 or 4 pack for pretty cheap!
Great video! I'm taking a guy turkey hunting for his first time this weekend, hard to describe what it's like to sit still with a big flock coming in! going to show this to him before we go out! also, have you experienced any turkeys spook with that shiny go pro on your head?
+Tyler Braschler thanks for the comment and for watching! You are right there isn't anything like the experience of turkey hunting! We love it! Although we hadn't had an issue with the turkeys spooking from the GoPro we have since used camo duct tape to cover the case and also bought a blackout case to reduce our chances of getting pegged!
cannot do step 1. The woods in North Florida (and for all of Florida for that matter) are waaaaaay too thick to see anything roosted in the trees. We don't have a big "leaf drop" during the Fall and Winter
It’s not about seeing the birds to locate the roosting area it is about hearing them. 75% of the time when we are scouting we are not getting close enough to see the birds. You should be able to do that no matter where you are.
+Jason Shook it is easy to do! For deer hunting especially I have started an exercise of mental scenarios where I think about all the possible scenarios I can be put in and what I am going to do in each before it happens. I have found that to really help in preventing mental mistakes! Also helps burn time on stand!
My second turkey I had a calling battle for 25 mins with a hen and she won and took them over the hill.. so I crawled up to them and blew Tom away anyway 😁 sweet vid tho
@@WeekendWoodsmen worked perfectly a nice 3 yr old! Funny part is I thought the field was flat til they disappeared good luck hunting goin for ducks now
Wow! Great calling and I learned a ton. Thanks for uploading
That’s what it is for! Good luck out there and thanks for the comment!

let us know how it turns out when you get after them again!
man this was incredible to watch you call them all in, those Hens were PISSED.
+C Michael haha it was really intense to watch it happen! Every cluck I was worried I would mess up and they would bolt! Thanks for the comment!

thanks for watching and the comment Rick. there is always a way...sometimes it just takes a while to figure out how to pull it off!
Nothing gets me happier when you can get a hen all worked up
+Erik Holterman agreed! Wish it worked like that every time!
Nothing beats live decoys
+Erik Holterman for sure!
Oka, I'm in. I subscribed. Y'all are turkey killin artists! That was beautiful!
+Leonard Perez Thanks for the subscribe! Don't tell anyone, but we have our fair share of mess ups too! Haha
You guys had a whole conversation. Nice job! Hope to get my first tom this spring.
+leafinitup1 It was intense! Thank you and good luck this spring!
That was awesome ! And very informative. I got beat out by the real thing a couple times last year :)
+Jeff Holley Thank you! Don't you worry, we still get beat out by the real thing, but this sure does increase your chances!
Great video well played out strategy. Very informative congratulations on you both for sealing that deal!
+Anthony Farr thank you! Also, thanks for watching and commenting!
Great video guys!!! The doe at 4:18. . . I thought it was a decoy or target doe. . . then it nodded. Awesome in all ways.
+Panjwai Punishers thank you! I am glad you liked it! It was an intense hunt!

So much fun.
Can’t wait for season to start!
Why didnt he have his up and ready before they got right up on you?
+Jason Shook caught in the moment I guess! He had it up on his knee but just forgot to get it all the way up before they got tight.
Weekend Woodsmen I'm sure we've all been there a time or 2 if we've been at it long enough

Very surprised those hens didn't spook. First time I have seen a hen respond like that!
+Angler Outdoors yes it is always tricky when they are in that tight! It was pretty cool!
what is a Jake..
Jake is the button buck of turkeys. It is a male bird that is less than 1 year old.
My second turkey I had a calling battle for 25 mins with a hen and she won and took them over the hill.. so I crawled up to them and blew Tom away anyway 😁 sweet vid tho
Haha! Yeah sometimes that’s how it goes! At least you had a hill you could use to sneak up on him!
@@WeekendWoodsmen worked perfectly a nice 3 yr old! Funny part is I thought the field was flat til they disappeared good luck hunting goin for ducks now
You too! Hoping to get a few more duck hunts in!
Wow that deer at 4:18 was close!
+Foster Rich now if we could just get them to do that during deer season!
Foster Rich no doubt
