I thought the song choice was geared toward Elizabeth, but Stevie Wonder's baby works too! I would add "be my baby' by THE RONETTES, which has to be followed by the cover from Scottish band TRAVIS. The singer, Fran Healey is amazing live and they have some great originals: sing, why does' it always rain on me, turn. When Brian Wilson first heard the song, he pulled over to listen, bought the record, and listened to it 1000 times to figure out how Phil Spector produced what came to be known as the 'wall of sound'.
Huge congrats to you all! My favourite baby-related song at the moment is actually a Eurovision entry from 2021 (placed 4th): Think About Things by Daði Freyr. It's cheesy Icelandic pop with a great video, and a beautiful sentiment behind it - a man being excited about watching his baby grow up and learning who they'll become. During my pregnancy all I could stomach was chocolate milk, cheese and crackers, and tomato soup with toast - no exciting recipes there sorry!
Without a doubt Jackie Wilson - (Your Love Keeps Lifting Me) Higher & Higher. Or something a bit left field, Morecombe and Wise - Bring Me Sunshine. Both just joyous songs and ones I remember playing when my babies were babies.
Congratulations!! Elizabeth. Definitely agree on You are the Sunshine of My Life. Though definitely biased as that is what my wife sung to my two stepdaughters.
Congratulations! A few "new baby" faves: -Daughter (Loudon Wainwright) -Beautiful Boy (John Lennon) -This Woman's Work (Kate Bush) Also maybe songs that would make good lullabies for babies? Moon River (Audrey Hepburn version), Edelweiss from The Sound of Music, Jamaica Farewell (Harry Belafonte), The Rainbow Connection, etc. I mean, my husband used to sing my daughter to sleep with a Talking Heads song, so this is a pretty broad category!
Congratulations on baby number 2! I used to sing Silent Lucidity to my twins when they were babies. But I know you have already done that. You should do Blue October, specifically Blue October - All That We Are - 11/11/2019 - Paste Studio NYC - New York, NY, Acoustic version that should not be missed. It is more about him and his wife I believe and his struggles being away from her while he is on the road. But it can be applied here as well because while you are not out on the road, you pour a lot of time into your videos and the research you are doing. Bless you Elizabeth, and your growing family. Know that your extended family will be here for you...always!
Massive congrats and the exciting news instantly reminded me of Stevie Wonder's 'Isn't she lovely', written about his newborn daughter and off his masterpiece of an album 'Songs in the key of life'. If I remember correctly the track even includes his baby daughter's voice so it seems very apt for review plus it's a classic!
"The Garden" from RUSH. "Clockwork Angels" 2012 studio version. Great song that reminds us to really cherish those around us and the time that clicks away so quickly. It is their last song and brings tears of sadness but also promise that you can make it a life worth living/sharing. Congrats to you and Kirk! Cheers!!
“Three Little Birds” by Bob Marley is a great uplifting song during your pregnancy “Don’t worry about a thing ‘cause every little thing gonna be alright”.
DJ Jurgen - Higher & Higher always gets me in a happy mood.....i hope that you find a song that does the same for you and your new-born......proficiat....
Congratulations! A song my brother use to play all the time for my niece is Silent Lucidity by Queensrÿche. Song i use to play for my boy Lived On The Moon by Kwoon.
Congratulations Elizabeth, Kirk and Mycroft! A healthy and satisfying breakfast could be steel-cut oats with milk of your choice, nuts and fruit. I'll have to come back with song recommendations. Love from Maryland!
This is my favorite music video of all time. The wax (errrrr vinyl) costumes just make this terribly unique and eye catching. And the sense of humor displayed in it is amazing.
You should do “Closing Time” by Semisonic. On its surface it’s about closing time at a bar, but there’s actually a deeper meaning about the birth of his first child. Essentially it’s simultaneously about the end of a night and the start of a new life which is cool because it adds a layer of depth to its seemingly straightforward lyrics.
@@america1st721If you'd actually research before commenting you'd find the singer and writer Dan Wilson realized when writing song is about being born. Song suggestion would definitely be “Follow Me” by Muse. Matt Bellamy (lead singer) wrote this song about becoming a father. It was released very shortly before I found out I was pregnant with my son and it’s a song I listened to constantly during my pregnancy and even now that my son’s 11. It’s an incredibly moving and beautiful song with a wonderfully touching beginning. I wish you all the happiness in the world and am so overjoyed by your announcement 🩷🥹 congratulations!!

I always loved this song (the original; Ugly Kid Joe's version is good too, but the original gets me more), but ever since my daughter was born it makes me cry every time I hear it, and worry that I'll be like the dad in the song, just because I need some alone time on the weekends.
Agreeing, I just commented that myself. Either the original or Ugly Kid Joe but UKJ is the metalhead choice. And since the Sound of Silence is a favorite charismatic voice video I think UKJ makes perfect sense in a kind of similar way.
“With Arms Wide Open” by Creed is a great song the feelings when discovering you are having a first child, and how you will welcome him into the world.
@@TheCharismaticVoice GREEN JELLY- THREE LITTLE PIGS...TOOLS Maynard James Keenan does backup vocals & Danny Carey plays Drums on this song. Make sure U do the video verion its 3 little pigs in CLAYMATION perfect for a kids themed series
@TheCharismaticVoice I wanted to bring this one up as well. I knew this song for a while. But the first time I heard it after I knew I would become a father, I cried my eyes out. And the song Hold on to memories by Disturbed had the same effect for me, house of memories by panic at the disco, as well
@@TheCharismaticVoiceRight ok, I won't list specific songs, but bands that are hugely underrated that you have yet to try going from top to bottom Mew (Danish alt rock band. Very gentle and a bit odd) Sonata Arctica (Finnish power metal with soaring vocals of Tony Kakko) Band Maid (maid themed J-Rock akin to Mary's Blood and Lovebites) A-Ha (yes, THAT band. Never got very far in the US, but HUUUUUGE in Germany!)
Gojira, "Born In Winter." Even though The Charismatic Baby Numero Dos will be a spring baby, I think the lyrics are appropriate for kiddos born whenever … and even uplifting for Mama Elizabeth and Daddy Kirk, and, well, really everybody.
Congratulations! Your charismatic family keeps getting bigger! To get the newcomer in the happiest of moods, I recommend "The Greatest Love" by The Gentle Storm, a side project of Arjen Lucassen and Anneke van Giersbergen. This is the song in the story of the concept album where the sailor's wife learns that she's pregnant, and is overflowing with joy. You can even pick your instrumentation, since there is a "gentle" and a "storm" version on the album, depending on how metal you're feeling!
Congratulations Elizabeth! Here's my list of suggestions Amos Lee - "Sweet Pea" Colin Meloy - "Wonder" - (Written by Colin Meloy when his son was born - a good segue into the music of The Decemberists) Loudon Wainwright - "Daughter" (my Wife and Father-In-Law danced to this at our wedding) Foo Fighters - "Miracle" Rosie Thomas w/ Iron & Wine - "Fly Little Crow" The Weepies - "Not A Lullaby" Phil Collins - "You'll Be In My Heart" (the Tarzan soundtrack had no business being as good as it is) John Lennon - "Beautiful Boy" Darius Rucker - "It Won't Be Like This For Long" (more country than rock but worth a listen, and a good segue into Hootie & The Blowfish)
Congratulations Elizabeth! I'd like to recommend a feel good song with a good message. The song is "We're here for a good time" by Trooper. They were a great Canadian band from the 70's-early 80's.
"Just Another Day" and "Angel" by Jon Secada, "Power of Love" by Jennifer Rush, "The Search is Over" by Survivor, "When I'm With You" by Sheriff (official videos, so you have a baseline to go off of). Should keep you plenty busy for the time being. Congratulations on the baby!
Noise Works . Welcome to the world. This song came out just before my Daughter was born . I sang it to her so much that she knows it word for word . Great song good band .
Congratulations to you both, that's happy news! Take care of yourself with all the busy stuff going on (extra filming and the kickstarter). Can't think of any recommendations yet, but if anything comes to mind, I'll let you know 🙂
Congratulations! Songs: "King Without a Crown" by Matisyahu (live at Stubbs) "Are You With Me Now" by Cate Le Bon "Love That's Gone" by La Sera (live on KEXP) Food: Muddle blueberry's with honey (use heat) and add to ginger tea. Refrigerate and then pour desired amount over sparkling water.
Well, first and foremost - CONGRATULATIONS! 🤩💖 My suggestion, without a second thought, would be ‘Measure of a Life’ by Arch Echo. They’re an instrumental prog band and this song has a whole lot of emotion and goes anthemic in parts, always reminds me of a baby being born and; the ensuing worries and challenges of parenthood conquered only by a thorough sense of hope and wonder! ✨💖
Yeeaaa! Chicken hearts fried in butter salt npeppa ( sounds wierd but high in iron and good for you) Unto others (band) Neverneverland album Franco’s voice is soothing Congrats! Baby’s first cry always makes me cry!? So beautiful Love you guys!
"The Garden of Earthly Delights" by XTC. It's literally a song of welcome to a newborn. Also, "Kooks" by David Bowie, a very touching song addressed to his baby son.
Yes Bowie's Kooks delightfully optimistic, as much about family as the child. There's also Crosby stills Nash and Young doing Teach your children..🌍🌌🧙🏼♂️🇬🇧
The first song that came to mind was Paul Simon's "Mother and Child's reunion". And Congratulations, I hope all of your children turn out as delightfully cheerful as you.
Congratulations! Wonderful News! ❤😊👶🍼 Dimash - Angel Love - Amanat - You Raise Me Up (he sings this with children) - Au Fond du Temple Saint (with Plácido Domingo) - Ti Amo Così Your Baby deserves to hear all the best. ❤ So naturally - additionally to moms voice - I think of Dimash for the perfect musical environment. Even in the womb. 🎼🎶🎧🥰
Congratulations on the second pregnancy! I've been wishing for a Counting Crows reaction from you since you wanted to learn about many other bands from the 90s post-grunge genre. They're most famous for their 'Long December' song, but the closest thing I could think that's less somber is 'Mrs. Potters Lullaby'. Not quite a baby's lullaby but it should pass the happy tune requirement. The singer Adam Duritz also did some simple cooking tutorials on the band's UA-cam channel, so maybe that's related to what you've asked too 😊
Definitely Lovebites Edge of the world, live version with lyrics, its on youtube! Great advice can be taken there about how to raise someone into this world :)
Congrats!! I guessed as soon as I saw the video title. I think its time for 80s pop. No autotune or computer intervention there, all real voices as pop used to be. I'd recommend Erasure - Respect as a good starting point. Andy Bells voice is insane!
Sturgill Simpson - Welcome to Earth A beautiful album dedicated to his son. Full of stories, advice , ups and downs. This song is the intro to the album and sets the background story for the tracks that follow. Definitely an album that needs to be listened to in its entirety.
Congratulations! One of the best songs about children, though it's more of a warning song, is Cats in the Cradle by Harry Chapin. It's specifically from a father's point of view, but every parent should hear it and heed its warning.
Please do Sublime. Sadly the singer passed away but his son now sings in the band. I thought it would be cool to do a double video of the same song “Santeria”. You can analyze and hear how the son sounds like the father and the science genetics plays in the voice. BTW i named my son after Bradley and this band is my “anytime music”. I think you will love it! And Congratulations!
This is the song I played when I found out my wife was pregnant with my only child. I still cry listening to it. I even sing it for him while I'm hugging him to let him know just how much he means to me.
Congratulations Elizabeth! I hope everything goes well for you. As far as a band to check out, I recommend When Rivers Meet, a blues-rock group out of England. They have two vocalists to dig into, and one of them (Grace Bond) has one of the most beautiful singing voices I've ever heard - I'd love to hear your thoughts on how she does what she does! A good song to start with would be "Trail to Avalon" because on that one they both sing separately as opposed to harmonizing. Another option is "Testify", just because its a banger of a tune that really showcases what Grace's pipes can do. Anyhow, hope you take this suggestion and once again, congrats and good luck!
"Atlas" and "Rise, Naianasha (Cut the Cord) by Coheed and Cambria. Two amazing songs sung from the perspective of a father to their son that hit me very hard every time I hear them.
Congratulations Elizabeth! I am shocked you have never, unless I missed it, reviewed Alanis Morissette! Anything off of her first album Jagged Little Pill would be great! I think you will really enjoy her voice.
Jagged Little Pill was her third album. I'm not saying that because I want to correct you, but because I like sharing with others that there's more music from Alanis than is normally thought. Kind of like how Little Earthquakes was Tori's second album. I saw Tori & Alanis on tour together. It was good.
Congratulations Elizabeth and Kirk! First song that came to mind is Billy Joel's 'Goodnight My Angel' You could react to the original or the beautiful cover by Celtic Woman with gorgeous harmony off their album Lullaby.
Congratulations, dear Elizabeth!! 🥂No question..."To a Child" by Laura Nyro. There is more than one version...amazing cuts on the albums Mother's Spiritual and Stoned Soul Picnic: The Best of Laura Nyro (the latter is just piano/vocal with bass and flute). Guarantee you will love it, regardless of whether or not you choose to analyze it. Much love, -b
Congrats! There are already many decent proposals here, so I'll give an indecent one - Depeche Mode - Black Celebration :D Funnily enough I had a playlist for putting my son to sleep when he was months old and it consisted of a lot of old Depeche Mode and Queen (I still have that PL on my Spotify, looks like a fine time to revisit :) All the best :)
2 brilliant songs about children on Cat Stevens' classic album "Tea for the Tillerman": 'Where Do the Children Play?' and 'Father and Son'. One by Grace Slick 'China', about her baby girl who grew up to be a VJ on MTV. From Talking Heads: 'Stay Up Late'
I had a friend whose mother would put on Side One of Tea for the Tillerman when she put him down to sleep as a baby. Then in high school, when our friend group discovered Cat Stevens, we would put on that record and he'd fall asleep. 😅
Congratulations!!! Well, any of the songs I might have recommended have been already, but definitely Aurora's "Through the Eyes of a Child" (Live at Nidarosdomen), and "Teach Your Children" by Crosby Stills, Nash & Young.
Will the video by anything involving Dave Grohl? Edit: This was _before_ the video premiere. I was only mocking the clickbait title. I did not tend the... you what.
Congratulations!! I wish you all the best during the pregnancy!! I have SO many songs that I listen to that I swear that if or when I have children (or adopted children), I will sing these songs any chance I get. Heck, when I sing these songs around little ones, they start to either fall asleep or they calm down if upset -Mother Earth & Father Time by Irwin Kostal -Savage Daughter by Ekaterina Shelehova -Come Little Children by Erutan -Cosmic Love by Florence + The Machine -Bottom of the River by Delta Rae -Mordred's Lullaby by Heather Dale Each of these songs are unique yet to me they all have such a comforting feeling, that feeling of a familial bond or something beyond our wildest imagination. I used these songs for a DnD campaign I'm building and listen to them when I am in need of a mood boost or when I am down in the dumps. I was only going to pick one or two but I can't pick favorites!
Congratulations, Elizabeth! I've wanted for some to see you react to a song by ABBA for some time. In keeping with the motherhood theme, I suggest "Slipping Through my Fingers" as a start. (OK, it's not about a baby, but it is about a young girl going off to school the first time.) After hearing it, I suspect (I hope) you will want to continue with other ABBA songs.
Congratulations to you both, my suggestion for you is "Better Days" by Dianne Reeves, which is the answer to a childhood question from her grandmother that helps her get through life. A phenomenal vocal performance and song to just listen to and the arraignment is stellar.
Keeping You, by Tanya Donelly. A perfect song for you about Tanya as a new mother and her monologue to her newborn. The whole album this song comes from ‘Beautysleep’ carry’s through on this theme and is one that’s in my top 20 all time albums.
Congratulations to you and your family! As a 64 year old career bachelor my basket of maternity advice is not much but, my music suggestions for that time bracket is this..... from Loreena McKennit's (a fellow Ginger!) live album Nights from the Alhambra, either 1) The Mystic's Dream or 2) Caravanserai. Wishing you well and a healthy baby!
For the music, I would definitely recommend Puscifer's song Augostina. It is an absolutely beautiful song, specifically snot a new life coming into the world. Very personal song from Maynard to his newborn daughter.
Congratulations!!!! I'm gonna go, lets say non traditional. I love Maria Franz, her song "Your On" from her band Euzen seems to fit. Also Heilung "Anoana", there is something magical about this song. Since we are still in the season, you can't go wrong with a delicious pumpkin pie. Use the recipe off the can that's what my mom did!
My first thought when I saw the title....and I was right...congratulations. Food suggestion is easy. My wife was totally into young mango when she was pregnant. (young as in not ripe) Sour stuff. If you are into spicy (like my wife), slice it up, like when making coleslaw. Add other fruits and vegetables, like green apples, cucumber and pineapple and whatever else you have available that matches this sweet and sour profile (everything sliced or diced) For texture, you could also add some sliced 'cole' and some lettuce. Taugé is also good voor texture, and very good for nutritional value Add jalapeños. Add sugar. (Experiment. See what amounts suit you.) Let it all soak in vinegar in the fridge overnight. Serve with peanut sauce. In indonesia they call that asinan. As for music...that's a lot harder, as mood is very much of influence. And as a husband I have only experienced it as a second person. I guess for the theme I would look for songs that were written for or about kids, without them being kids songs. I am guessing Bruce Springsteen doing "Pony Boy" doesn't qualify. And I think you already did Silent Lucidity. Some BabyMetal you didn't get to yet, maybe?
"Isn't she lovely" by Stevie Wonder, written to his baby daughter.
100% this
This is the one!!

I KNEW IT!! Not sure what kind of ancient warlock magic I'm wielding, but I freaking knew it! ❤❤ Congratulations to you and Kirk! 💫
The non alcoholic cocktails kinda gave it away.
@ I didn’t catch that, but yeah
@@Sarah-with-an-H Right? When Kirk was bringing her mocktails I was wondering what was up.
Noise Works . Welcome to the world. This song came out just before my Daughter was born . I sang it to her so much that she knows it word for word . Great song good band .
Congratulations to you both, that's happy news! Take care of yourself with all the busy stuff going on (extra filming and the kickstarter). Can't think of any recommendations yet, but if anything comes to mind, I'll let you know 🙂
Definitely second pregnancy
You got it 👍🏻👏🥳
You got it, but it was a pretty easy guess.
I said that before opening the video 😂😂😂😂
@@ladylisaromance8129Even then it was easy to guess..🤔🙂
The baker costume for Halloween...bun in the oven!
Liam Gallagher is paying her to not reviw oasis
Gosh. I read Renew instead Review. Time to unveil the secret 😂😂
Glad I'm not the only one patiently waiting for an Oasis analysis
Christ, imagine... Though would enjoy a Britpop showdown oasis vs blur
Congratulations!
Songs: "King Without a Crown" by Matisyahu (live at Stubbs)
"Are You With Me Now" by Cate Le Bon
"Love That's Gone" by La Sera (live on KEXP)
Food: Muddle blueberry's with honey (use heat) and add to ginger tea. Refrigerate and then pour desired amount over sparkling water.
Well, first and foremost - CONGRATULATIONS! 🤩💖
My suggestion, without a second thought, would be ‘Measure of a Life’ by Arch Echo. They’re an instrumental prog band and this song has a whole lot of emotion and goes anthemic in parts, always reminds me of a baby being born and; the ensuing worries and challenges of parenthood conquered only by a thorough sense of hope and wonder! ✨💖
Yeeaaa!
Chicken hearts fried in butter salt npeppa ( sounds wierd but high in iron and good for you)
Unto others (band)
Neverneverland album Franco’s voice is soothing
Congrats!
Baby’s first cry always makes me cry!? So beautiful
Love you guys!
@@todbot3293 I thought Mother and Child reunion was a menu item at a restaurant. Fried Chicken & eggs.
Congratulations! Wonderful News! ❤😊👶🍼
Dimash
- Angel Love
- Amanat
- You Raise Me Up (he sings this with children)
- Au Fond du Temple Saint (with Plácido Domingo)
- Ti Amo Così
Your Baby deserves to hear all the best. ❤ So naturally - additionally to moms voice - I think of Dimash for the perfect musical environment. Even in the womb. 🎼🎶🎧🥰
Yes Dimash, not done him for so long
Congratulations on the second pregnancy!
The singer Adam Duritz also did some simple cooking tutorials on the band's UA-cam channel, so maybe that's related to what you've asked too 😊
Don't Worry be Happy - Bobby McFerrin
Congratulations! "Cruel, Crazy, Beautiful World" - Johnny Clegg and Savuka
This is one I came here to say.
Definitely Lovebites Edge of the world, live version with lyrics, its on youtube! Great advice can be taken there about how to raise someone into this world :)
Definitively I agree with you. Uplifting lyrics, as often with Lovenites.
Congratulations, I wish you guys all the best. Thats wonderful news.
Congrats!! I guessed as soon as I saw the video title.
I think its time for 80s pop. No autotune or computer intervention there, all real voices as pop used to be. I'd recommend Erasure - Respect as a good starting point. Andy Bells voice is insane!
Sturgill Simpson - Welcome to Earth
A beautiful album dedicated to his son.
Ugly kid Joe version please.
Creed - With Arms Wide Open
Fun fact: Scott used his son’s heartbeat at the beginning of the song. Congrats on baby #2! 👶🏻
This is the song I played when I found out my wife was pregnant with my only child. I still cry listening to it. I even sing it for him while I'm hugging him to let him know just how much he means to me.
I second that, fantastic song regardless of the occassion 👌
Just don't listen to the Bob Rivers parody
Actually it is “with arms wide Ophan”
I don't know why this popped into my head but you should totally react to Mr. Rogers singing his opening Theme song :)
Congratulations ,Elizabeth and Kirk. 🎉
Help me, Obi-Wan Kenobi, you're my only hope?
An Interview With Bruce Dickinson is on its way..... or maybe something along the lines of Offspring Number 2.
Send Me On My Way - Rusted Root
Always reminds me of Childhood :)
"Atlas" and "Rise, Naianasha (Cut the Cord) by Coheed and Cambria. Two amazing songs sung from the perspective of a father to their son that hit me very hard every time I hear them.
The only Native American band Redbone! "Come and get your love". Midnight Special version.
Making a metal album?
Creed, Open Arms. makes me well up every time I hear it. The Lyrics just hit and the song is amazing. CONGRATULATIONS!!
“Beautiful Boy (Darling Boy)” by John Lennon. Especially if you name him Sean. “Life is what happens to you while you’re making other plans”.
"In the Living Years" by Mike and the Mechanics... (FYI, the 'Mike' in Mike and the Mechanics refers Genesis guitarist Mike Rutherford)
With arms wide open - creed. Great for a newborn.
Kate Bush - Snowflake. A wonderful song with her son.
Or "Bertie" but that is maybe a bit too sappy
@@ronaldsterckx2016 Oh, hardly! Both are excellent, but I really enjoy the two voices
Baby number 2 perhaps...
Congratulations! I would suggest Rush’s The Garden and/or Time stand Still to listen to for this series.
Congratulations!!! Well, any of the songs I might have recommended have been already, but definitely Aurora's "Through the Eyes of a Child" (Live at Nidarosdomen), and "Teach Your Children" by Crosby Stills, Nash & Young.
Simple Man by Lynyrd Skynyrd, about a mother’s advice to her son
Will the video by anything involving Dave Grohl?
Edit: This was _before_ the video premiere. I was only mocking the clickbait title. I did not tend the... you what.
Elizabeth has been worn down, not feeling well alot lately...methinks the 2nd Child Theory is correct. If so, YAY!!
Also just had a mocktail instead of the usual cocktail 🍹
@@jaynebennett8398 Yes- I also noted that. Sneaky lil hosts, eh?
Congratulations!! I wish you all the best during the pregnancy!!
I have SO many songs that I listen to that I swear that if or when I have children (or adopted children), I will sing these songs any chance I get. Heck, when I sing these songs around little ones, they start to either fall asleep or they calm down if upset
-Mother Earth & Father Time by Irwin Kostal
-Savage Daughter by Ekaterina Shelehova
-Come Little Children by Erutan
-Cosmic Love by Florence + The Machine
-Bottom of the River by Delta Rae
-Mordred's Lullaby by Heather Dale
Each of these songs are unique yet to me they all have such a comforting feeling, that feeling of a familial bond or something beyond our wildest imagination.
Preggers again?
She looks horrified in the thumbnail so that's a good guess.
Einhorn is Finkel?

Congratulations to you both, my suggestion for you is "Better Days" by Dianne Reeves, which is the answer to a childhood question from her grandmother that helps her get through life. A phenomenal vocal performance and song to just listen to and the arraignment is stellar.
Keeping You, by Tanya Donelly. A perfect song for you about Tanya as a new mother and her monologue to her newborn. The whole album this song comes from ‘Beautysleep’ carry’s through on this theme and is one that’s in my top 20 all time albums.
I'll give this a Scooby.....Arooo? (with curious head tilt)
