SO useful!!! I was copying ice gallery elements from Fortnite in my level over and over and I'm just now learning about all these optimization things. Feels awesome to learn real-world game dev optimization :D
Just try your map, it's crazy good. I love the details, breakable item that give ammo, textures etc.. You should make a full deathrun without zombies maybe? But why trap, shoot on target with weapon etc. I just think it's a bit anoying because I never have time to take a brake with zombie ahah. Just my opinion, but the map is still really impressive! GG
Thanks! I added them to add difficulty. But agree with everything you say. Just had no time to look into that map because we developing new one, but maybe one day 😁

I also developed a map with my best friend for the last 10 month, and we are about 2 weeks from the release, even if it makes 0 players, it’s so satisfying to see your own map finished after this amount of time ahahah. @@Velight7 We working already for a while and trying to release it before end of the year. Very ambitious, so probably will release in chunks instead everything at once. And agree with having your map released. I love work and learn.
If you're talking about first part of the video then that isn't UEFN but instead Unreal Engine 5. I used it to show and explain some stuff and UEFN lacks of preview of that.
@ ah that sucks I thought I was going crazy I searched everywhere trying to find it lol, my map is all instances already I just wanted to see the stats, hope they add something like that soon
@@vOrdiantt In recent updates Epic changed how ot works... in a bad way. Need now multiple times do double click to select instance and not sure if Alt + drag duplicates them. Another way is to use ISM Editor inside modeling mode > xform
Could this be the solution to the error that appears when I try to build the HLODs? I have created a large map, many elements such as walls, sidewalks, etc. are duplicates and I never created the instances
@@miguelpeinadososa4511 For custom props without need to be destroyed instances is highly recommended. But you can't do this with Fortnite props. HLODs are for distance assets, so we can see them from far.
Sorry I can't say much about HLODs inside UEFN as haven't tried them yet. But main things I would look is to disable HLOD support for props you don't want to be included. Majority of stuff have ticked in this option. Secondly if you're using custom props make sure they have proper LODs too.

Question: are you only able to make blueprints actors with imported static meshes? I have not found a way to use meshes that are from fortnite.
Yes, only with custom static meshes. Fortnite assets for us are "read" only, which means we can't do much with them, just use as is.
Is alt drag broken when trying to make instances of the HISM? Mine just makes a whole new HSIM instead of creating an instance of it😭
