Yeah I actually love the body style of the Model s. Honestly, I don't love the model 3 body style though. I feel like it's a little bit too bulky for me in terms of styling even though it is a smaller car. But the model s and 3 is such an amazing value for what you get. I think the next closest car that has 1,000 horsepower cost like $600,000 (the Ferrari sf90). How can you beat that for the money?
Congrats on your new Tesla🎉🎉 I took delivery of my refreshed M3 LR !! First EV. I absolutely love my car !! Not as fast as a Plaid 😂but my LR is pretty darn fast. Puts a smile on my face every time I get inside it. I love the tech and minimalism.
Also keep in mind the Model S LR is an even better buy. For those who don’t want the ridiculous acceleration the Plaid offers for $75k you can get the long range which gives you 670hp/738tq, 0-60 2.8secs, 1/4 mile of 10.6@129mph. Can’t get the carbon fiber trim but everything else is virtually the same as the Plaid but with dual motors instead of the tri motor carbon sleeves in the Plaid. It also has 405 miles of range.
That's also plenty fast too! I test drove it and it was quick! For an extra $15k though might as well get the extra motor because the speed difference is VERY noticeable between the two. Since the build quality isn't great I feel like if you get a model S might as well get the plaid otherwise you're better off getting a model 3 performance. That's the best feature of a Tesla is the speed IMO. It doesn't feel as premium or stable when you're driving it then a Mercedes or BMW but it sure blows them away from a power standpoint
@@AndyColeman Here’s my thought process on the Plaid. First, I will never get even remotely close to the 174mph top speed so that’s a waste of money for me. Not buying the track pack which is another $20k just for tires, rims, ceramic brakes and unlocking the 203mph top speed. Useless. The LR is already a bit much for city streets and the Plaid is even more. I’m not hot rodding the car. I prefer to buy what I’m going to use and although I love speed I’m not paying an extra $14k for performance I’m not going to use. Love the Plaid but I have no need for the ridiculous performance it has. The LR will destroy a M3P after 60mph and it has a bit more room which I need and it looks better and still has more tech than the new M3 so the M3P is not an option for me.
In that case, why not just get the new Model 3 Performance? It's 53k and qualifies for the 7,500 tax credit which makes it even less money. It has 2.9 sec 0-60, vented seats, etc. Why get the 75k S with no 7,500 off? If I make enough money, I'd get the plaid, if I don't, I'd get the Model 3P. Why get the base S?

Ahh I had heard it cuts some power when low on miles but I didn't know 100 miles was the cut off... it does feel faster after charging it too. I'm definitely going to try it again on a full charge and see the difference. I can't imagine it feeling faster tho, even under charged it felt insane

I want to see what they do for the refresh if they put in those cool LED lights and if they change anything else up or even make it faster... Even though honestly, it's too fast as it is and the car feels a little unstable once you smash the accelerator, but it is so much fun
@AndyColeman the tesla Roadster will probably be the only tesla faster than it. 0-60 in 1.9 like the plad but it has a faster quarter mile at 8.8 secounds with a top speed of over 250 mph which is insane.
That's funny. You said that I was at universal 3 years ago when they were building that roller coaster and I've always wanted to go back and try it. It's just so crazy how a car can give you the same feeling as a roller coaster and you get to drive it every single day. Never thought I'd get to experience that in a vehicle!
It's actually not bad, it's nothing like my BMW M3 though. There's a big difference between bmw and tesla because I hear a lot of rattling and it makes a lot of noises. Also some of the panels have gaps in them but not super noticeable. All in all I feel like Teslas are better for speed and low maintenance and cheaper to drive. Not the best quality but good enough

I didn't know that! Yeah the BMW m3 is so significantly better in terms of build quality it feels like it's in a different league. Next video I'm actually going to do a direct side by side comparison since they are about the exact same price!
Lol I know it is still a lot for a car. I just meant compared to the original price of $140,000... getting $50,000 for the exact same car is a bargain if you have the extra cash. I bring in about $40k-$50k a month as a real estate agent so I forget how blessed I am sometimes. I like the Model S but it could still use a redesign though. When I test drove it I wish it still had stalks for turn signal and wiper, maybe also for AC. From an ergonomic point of view I want to be able to get physical feedback and keep my eyes on the road. I do recommend the 19’s over the 21’s for range purposes. I’d like to test drive a Model S with a yoke but I had no issues with the regular steering wheel on the Model S Long Range. It’s going to be very interesting with a lot of the EV competition incoming. I am very interested in the Ionic and the new BMW EV’s. Also coming off Toyota I wish Tesla would get to that build quality level.
Yeah the horn and turn signals are not intuitive and I really don't like them... someone almost crashed into me the other day and I couldn't even find the horn fast enough to beep. Definitely 19s too, the 21s look better but less speed and less range. I love the yoke! It makes the car more unique, definitely a must if you get a plaid. I want this kind of power in a BMW M3.... that would be the perfect car IMO

Have you driven one? I mean the actual plaid. I would try driving one first even if you don't want to buy one. Just the experience of driving. It is really mind-blowing

You had less than 100 miles SOC. It was down on power. Charge it up and try that again.
