I re-watched 2 different recordings. He says "Follow me, Big Boss" but the game subtitles don't have the quotations in the cutscene. But I'll check other cutscenes

The fact is, this is NOT the ultimate, most definitive experience for anyone as this is the trashiest tier MGS title in the history of its legacy. And it's not Kojima-san's fault whatsoever. Venom snake isn't evil, skullface in GZ was big boss, but in phantom pain he is venom snake he was burned in the helicopter crash and he has same scar like the one on venom's horn. Skullface's pilot is pequad (and has diamond dogs logo on his helmet too) he also uses same helicopter type as venom, venom has an XOF soldier backpack from ground zeroes. And there's too many signs.

Here's my explanation: if you exclude the scene of Skull Face's death and the one where he pushes Huey, in every other scene his presence is literally not even acknowledged by everyone else (including Venom Snake). Even the scene where Venom Snake stops Skull Face from boarding that helicopter, and afterwards they go for a jeep ride as if nothing happened can be explained in the sense that he negotiated with XOF in order to inspect MG Sahelanthropus (I mean, he had abducted Huey ,the lead engineer of Sahelanthropus before it was fully functional). Add the phrase from the trailer "His face,his identity everything was stolen from him" and you get a perfect description of Venom. Heck, even the Skull Face's disfigured appearance could be considered as a metaphor of Venom Snake's condition (years of brainwashing and surgical procedures have completely disfigured him the point that he's a wholly different person). Also if you take in account that the removed chapter (Peace) was about Venom rebelling against the real Big Boss, that makes Skull Face's jeep speech ("This war is peace") the scene where Venom slowly pieces together the fact that he was brainwashed into thinking of himself as Big Boss.

I don't care what most say about skullface, he may not be as memorable as the other villains before him but, he still has a special place in my heart. He doesn't get enough credit for what he did. But thats just me.
When I first saw this dude in Ground Zeroes, I thought this was the stupidest character ever, but I gotta be honest, he’s grown on me. His entire look and design is just so interesting to me, it reminds me of the movie Rango a little bit. He’s just such a weird yet cruel guy and he is honestly one of the first things that comes to mind when I think of this game.

He plays a few aliens, but the voice - he's the shadow from the future that talks to the Suliban in Star Trek Enterprise. Transylvania, where the Dracula stuff takes place, is located between Hungary and Romania. Vamp is Romanian, Skull Face speaks Hungarian. They very well can be family.
Hot take here, but a much better twist would be that original Big Boss ends up becoming Skull Face, while Venom claims the title of Big Boss. Does it make much sense? No, not really, but neither does most of this game’s writing. But with the way Skull face was written, especially with him being part of XOF, literally FOX backwards, being Big Boss’s reflection, it’s not exactly stupid. Venom looks in the mirror and sees Skull Face in it, has some scenes where the whole “I’m a demon” thing is him believing he’s turning into Skull Face. Hell, the whole Demon Points thing could slowly change his face into Skull Face’s. The Man on Fire could be revealed to be the guy that burned Skull Face, for revenge, then Skull Face in turn tries to take revenge on Venom for taking his role. Plus, you could still have something fixing the “big boss died twice” plothole in the MSX games. It would also add a whole new layer to Psycho Mantis’ encounter with Solid Snake in MGS1, with him having at one point worked with Big Boss to take down… Big Boss.
The line "you became a demon for weapons such little as that" hits a little different cause I basically went full genocide on the Russians on that mission

Cool idea and I like his agenda to a degree, but he really needed some more time in the oven to be more fleshed out. Some might say it is on purpose, to those people I say this character's role would work as well as he does now if he actual had some more screen time, but with the added entertainemnt value the story would get with an actual developed character would be immensly helpful for some of this game's flaws.
Ah, Skullface. He had the potential to be a cool villain, but a lack of development, lack of screen time, a silly looking domino mask, and some very unintentionally funny line reads just made him a joke
The weird thing is that he kind of looks and dressed like my grandpa minus the burnt face. His facial structure and even the voice sounds like my grandpa😂
Skull Face was so menacing in Ground Zeroes, but somehow Kojima turned him into a joke in The Phantom Pain thanks to that dopey zorro mask and some awful lines of dialogue.

Its part of his prescence, be hiden in the shadows, almost never seen, in TPP itself his aparitions were rare, but intense, thats why he is memorable.

One of the best and deepest characters in the franchise. The themes related to this character are at the core of MGS itself.
James Horan's voice was familiar to me, then I looked him up and found he was in Star Trek. A show I watch religiously. He plays a few aliens, but the voice - he's the shadow from the future that talks to the Suliban in Star Trek Enterprise.
Edit: in lockdown, James Horan would make millions of hits on youtube reading Grimms Fairytales by a fireplace, reading glasses on his nose. Ending with an eeree "Wasn't that nice. Sleep tight."

Hot take here, but a much better twist would be that original Big Boss ends up becoming Skull Face, while Venom claims the title of Big Boss.
Does it make much sense? No, not really, but neither does most of this game’s writing. But with the way Skull face was written, especially with him being part of XOF, literally FOX backwards, being Big Boss’s reflection, it’s not exactly stupid. Venom looks in the mirror and sees Skull Face in it, has some scenes where the whole “I’m a demon” thing is him believing he’s turning into Skull Face. Hell, the whole Demon Points thing could slowly change his face into Skull Face’s. The Man on Fire could be revealed to be the guy that burned Skull Face, for revenge, then Skull Face in turn tries to take revenge on Venom for taking his role. Plus, you could still have something fixing the “big boss died twice” plothole in the MSX games. It would also add a whole new layer to Psycho Mantis’ encounter with Solid Snake in MGS1, with him having at one point worked with Big Boss to take down… Big Boss.
When fans write better stories than the original developers

@dirtypms it was where bees sleep, so I was running default gear and a sniper I had just unlocked. Got spotted at the base, ended up eliminating every guard in the area.

Cool idea and I like his agenda to a degree, but he really needed some more time in the oven to be more fleshed out.
Some might say it is on purpose, to those people I say this character's role would work as well as he does now if he actual had some more screen time, but with the added entertainemnt value the story would get with an actual developed character would be immensly helpful for some of this game's flaws.
