I really enjoy using the Charging Sidestep over Dodgebolt and with it I use max evade extender, stamina surge, and constitution. This allows me to effectively reposition around the monster and keep shooting it like an annoying wasp. Big fan of this playstyle and I always need more stamina.
This is my playstyle since day one playing bow. Charging sidestep + evade extender is the only thing i need. Just dancing around the monster while raining down an arrow.
Most bow builds I see uses Archfiend legs just because of Dereliction. I recently replaced them with Seething Bazel because it had Stamina Surge but more importantly Guts because I kept failing to Dodge Bolt enemy attacks. And because of that 1 change, I have been surviving more & getting better clear times because I don't have to run back to the monster after carting. The Stam Surge does help but more importantly to stay alive, you can't do DPS if you're rolling back to camp every 2 minutes.
Yeah so basically, because you don't play your weapon sufficiently good you need to downgrade your build. This is fine, but let's not play it like it's not a skill issue
@@ZipMapp , I image it would be possible for quite a few people, but it’s a lot more fun and like he said gives more flexibility. Speed runners make mistakes as well, but they just reset the run and start again. Futhermore they get the perfect monster with mods allowing them to get hit less, as the monster dies faster.
Put in like 700 hours in world and now around 100 in Rise and just started learning the bow. It's so dang fun. Devouring all of your content and I really enjoy your different take and perspective. It resonantes with me and my play style, can't wait to continue through the playlist and also see what you have coming in the future! Hitting that notification bell!
I've always wondered why some people don't mess around with the weapon/build they use. I primarily play Charge Blade and Bow, but have never liked the meta builds in Sunbreak. I've always liked messing around with builds myself and after TU1 I've made Silver Rathalos sets for both weapons and I've been enjoying them quite a lot (especially because I like elemental play).
I main SNS and took a Meta build for most of endgame. But eventually started adjusting the skills to my playstyle and am having much more fun and making new sets and see what works.
For a competitive speedrunner saving 20 seconds is HUGE. Hell even shaving a few seconds could be a new record somewhere. I am not a speedrunner and I don't really ever intend to be. I get too easily frustrated from failure. I love seeing high numbers so your videos really have helped me out. I am still SO bad at bow though.... I think because I'm so fumbly with everything I tend to run out of health before I run out of stamina..... yeah.... need to learn I can't unga bunga my way through bow playing :/ my husband usually gets so frustrated when I bring bow on a hunt because he knows there's a 75% chance I'll faint all 3 times and cause us to go back into the quest with me switching to dual blades for the rest of the night.....
I have unga bunga bow sets that use the Lunge to cut tails..... but in every single bow set I've ever made, I absolutely NEED Stun Res 3. The only Dereliction set I ever had, I couldn't squeeze in the 3rd Stun Resistance. If I didn't play perfectly, I would inevitably die due to a follow up attack from a monster shortly after having been stunned. It filled me with rage, every single time. I've worked my way in TU1 to having 2 core bow sets, a DPS set that uses Bloodlust, and a "Leech" set where I've put in Bloodrite instead. Glad to be rid of those darn Qurios. The survivability is also worth the drop in damage too. With the latter set, it is so fun to see my health bar go up from simply Dodge Bolting and meleeing a broken part up close, and then getting back to the volley spam! Speedrunners will scoff, but I'm just glad to finish a mission in 15 minutes without dying, give or take whether I am thirsting for a tail cut.
Just today I decided to drop CON and SS to make room for Evade Window and Evade extender, and tbh I love to be able to dodgebolt nearly anything and keep shooting! Oh! and ty for reminding me about Focus Shot, gotta try it out again!
I've been playing these games since freedom unite. I've seen 2 of your videos and I'm gonna sub because I respect your viewpoint ok how to play the game and want more hunters like you out there. Keep doing your thing 👌
Of all these, using Dodgebolt frequently and consistently is probably the hardest. I do all these but still need stamina skills, mostly because I use APS. APS not only gives you stuns, it exhausts the monster very quickly, giving you a lot of openings. It's one of the most powerful features of the bow.
OMG, I got through half the video and was like "OMG i do all these things, wtf is wrong with me" then he mentioned APS and I was like "Oh, haha yea, i forgot about that. LOL" Still get away with only 3 points in Cons and eating for Fighter lvl 3. I pop a dash juice whenever i can remember too, and I also take my kitty with the Cons drum, and IIRC that all gets me to like, 62-72% stam reduction. Stam management doesn't even cross my mind, even with my non-comfy set variations having 0 Stamina Surge. When the Fighter Dango doesn't proc though... oof. I'll be mid fight, take a hit, wonder "why didn't my character dodge" look up, see my stam bar flashing and just be like "fuck" LOL! *immediately pounds dash juice*
Gold rath is a good bow. In terms of damage, valstrax still win even without power coating. But the difference is small, both can clear malzeno in like 2 mins without dereliction build. The main advantage of gold rath is the level 4 slot, allowing more flexible build. Also, you can craft it at MR10.
I'm a bow god, and what you said at the beginning is truly enough, it depends on your actual bow skill level, the amount of stam needed. I need at least lvl 3 Cons + dash juice. For both single and multiplayer. the better you get the more stam.
So far still fully support your resolve and determination to teach people theres a better way to play. This concept is very much the same as people who drive really fast going 15mph over the limit and then you catching up to them at the next light. Love your content and very aggressive but humble way you go about it. Keep at it friend!
This is actually an interesting opinion to listen to. I've only recently started trying to collect spiribirds when I hit MR because I actually felt like there was a need to, compared to HR where I didn't. I've always tried to focus more on the comfort skills like free meal, but MR only made me want to focus on that aspect more, because more damage means nothing if you can't survive long enough to make use of it. Even started swapping out demon petalace for underworld petalace. So that's point 1 already being taken into consideration for me. About power volley, no, I don't intend to use it all that much if at all. But not because it'll make my hunts slower and whatnot, I'm fully aware that I'm no speedrunner and playing exactly like that doesn't work for me. I don't use power volley primarily because of being locked in that longer animation and being unable to dodge. I prefer to be as ready as I can to dodgebolt incoming attacks especially because I'm terrible with positioning. But as per one of the previous video, focus shot is an option and I fully plan on trying to practice making use of the s mid combo too. I almost never use butcher's bind and aerial aim anyway so I slotted in the skill that would be somewhat useful. At least that way, I get to keep DPS uptime while better managing stamina. Instant dodgebolt, I try to do, but I honestly suck at it. But I run around a lot anyway due to my bad positioning and needing to heal and that helps recovering loads of stamina. All in all, I'm willing to try ditching at least some levels of cons/ss. I don't know about ditching it completely, it's definitely gonna feel really weird needing to adjust my playstyle to the reduced stamina management comfort, but the points you brought up were compelling enough to make me try! I'm not at the endgame yet so not every build is going to be available yet, but it's fun playing around with builds anyway
I agree. Focusing on the Balance between Survivavility and Damage, between Comfort and Risk. I am one of those players who takes comfort skills yet I am able to hunt sub 10mins. The confidence of the comfort skills gives you being able to survive without fainting is much better than fainting all the time for the damage you want which makes you waste more time. It's still up to the person's preference, and what's makes them enjoy the game even more. Meaning, even if you don't use meta builds or the highest potential damage output of your set, as long as you enjoy the way you hunt, may it be not as efficient as others, at least it doesn't drain yourself from the game.
My playstyle is aimed at successfully and consistently be able to utilise every tool in a weapons arsenal during a hunt. It may not be the fastest. But when I can combine all the abilities of a weapon and use them at the right time, and in the best way, to dodge attacks or inflict more damage or even buff myself then I feel like I have mastered the weapon. (The only problem I have, in modern MH, is that I find it tough to remember all the attacks for all the weapons and their timings because I use every weapon equally and usually swap weapon each hunt. My old timey hunter brain cant handle it sometimes lol.)
I actually have started to play Berserk/Strife on bow lately. It is risky and I am not that good at bow so sometimes I do need to heal a lot. But it just feels so nice to not get one shot by the strongest attacks and to have infinite stamina for Dodgebolting and since you can play with Power Shot that way you also get stuns out nicely. I am not too good at dodgebolting a lot of attacks yet, but that set actually makes me wanna learn to do so. And if you get Bloodrite into your set somehow, eat a fish and carry max potions it can be a lot of fun
I want to improve as bow which is why I love your videos. I come to your channel to learn more about bow and thx to you I’ve improved a bit. Though I have been mostly using guns in sunbreak but I’ll try bow and improve again.
I personally use Con5 (Con 4 with fighter lvl 1 for 100% activation rate) on all my bow sets. Why, for me, comfort. I couldn't care less what the "Meta" is, I never really follow it or use it. Part of what I like about the game is making sets from scratch and using them, like I have a sleep bomber set where the point of it is to put the monster to sleep as many times as possible and bomb the shit out of it each time, but I digress as that's not the point. Con5 is a comfort skill for me, it allows me to nonstop attack as much as possible which is the playstyle I enjoy with the bow. Stamina Surge is a bonus if I can get it, but not really a core skill for me because I use the stamina regain wirebug (can't remember the name of it.) With Con5 and that wirebug skill, I am attacking nonstop which, as I said before, adds to the playstyle I enjoy.
i started using bow in world and learned to play it there, so when i came to rise, i continued playing bow as if it was world, constitution 2 or 3 with stamina surge 3 and charging sidestep thats the playstyle of bow i fell in love with and its the playstyle im gonna continue using. I easily get sub 10 minute on the hardest monsters and sub 8 against less difficult monsters. .hile its interesting to see bow without cons or stam surge, im most likely not going to be using it, just because i think my current playstyle is more fun, still a good video, its been very educational
Been using you build and it’s been really fun. While still learning bow I’ve been using SS but no constitution. Just to make sure I still can dodge bolt. But it’s definitely not necessary
@iixxion relate! I posted my elemental bubbly bow build inspired by yours and the amount of roast I got for not having stamina and low dps… I cannot! Lol I guess it’s more for us 🤣 Dragon Attack 5 (swap out bow and decos for other element) Resuscitate 3 Critical Boost 3 Weakness Exploit 3 Critical Element 3 Spread Up 3 Windproof 3 Bubbly Dance 3 Free Meal 3 (I’m cheap xD) Chain Crit 3 Reload Speed 2 Charge Master 2 Peak Performance 1 Resentment 1 Spare Shot 1 Bow Charge Plus 1 Stamina Thief 1 Flinch Free 1 Mail of Hellfire 1 Coalescence 1 Bloodlust 1 Foray 1 It’s insane!! Thanks a lot!!!
That set does indeed look insane! nice job! and yeah, all people gotta do is use the three main points I outline in this video, and they can play sooooooo easily with zero con/ss. it really is that simple.
@@iixxion right! It wouldn’t hurt for them just to give it a try rather than throwing immediate diss! The part I got wrong was that I was using absolute power shots, until I saw this vid. Now I don’t even use dash juice anymore, it’s like magic lol give them a few weeks and they’ll be back in this video! :)
I play all weapon, so I ended up do lazy build of all weapon. Like 1 bowguns for all element, 1 blademaster set for all, and just use rapid bow as it is the comfiest of all bow shot type. And like you I realize in base, 3 con, 2 ss, dash juice and fighter 2 is more than enough for my bow play. So now with fighter 4 I just put 1 ss in.
I love to play bow brutally aggressive. Usually spread with close range coating, running on Adrenaline Rush and Bladescale Hone. But it requires so many points in evade and stamina skills, that it's fully impossible to even mix the build up with more gameplay adapting techniques. So I kinda started scraping away at elements. In fact, it was your video on Bolt Boost + Ballistic that made me apprechiate Rapid bows way more than Spread, whilst still allowing for some aggro. I still rely on quite a few comfort skills, but it's so much more accessible to customization. I can't thank you enough for preaching the niche, comfy ways of bow to us.
You're welcome! somebody in the comments somewhere around here posted a link to a speedrunner's video who did malzeno in the demo with bow in like five minutes. the guy has amazing timing on his dodgebolts, knows malzeno inside and out, and has incredibly precise aim. And....guess what else? He uses power volley every chance he gets, and he uses instant dodgebolt. he didn't collect birds, but just TWO of the three techniques that I talked about allowed him to manage his stamina and STILL get an amazing time on an insane elder dragon with a terrble build from the demo. These techniques really do work.
I agree with you, I play ls and trying bow and this is my first mh, in ls I always have defense skills but as time goes I started removing it one by one because I get hit less often now and leaning into more damage build, with bow my goal is your build where no con/ss its more with my play style because man dying using bow is more frustrating than dying using ls.
I spreadsheeted out the best possible DPS build I could for bow, no comfort skills, everything is DPS. I suspect it is better than many speedrunners builds, unfortunately I'm not a speedrunner lol, but every now and then I have a really good hunt and it makes it worthwhile.
I had made a comfy and tanky suicide build (resentment max, dereliction max, defense boost max (defiance 1/spiribird call from quiro crafting), blood rite 2) for surge slash great sword so when i picked up bow, i wanted something different, found one of your videos with bubbly/bloodlust and it just clicked, have been looking through a lot of armor and potential decos to craft before i got something to work, storge helm for bloodlust, maklava gloves and legs for bubbly 3, sailor for max range and astalos chest for stamina surge, using all of the 3 slots i have to slot in defence 3 and pierce up 3 with the kamura bow (pierce 5 at charge 4) trying to learn how to keep the combo going and staying mobile (talisman gave 2 wex/2ee so dodgebolt has quite the range which really helps with repositioning)
Sounds fun I haven't tried the bow yet, but once I get there I usually just use other builds as references, but I like to make my own even when they turn out to be ass.
Yo whats up man, nice video! I started on MH3U and basically never used bow till now I've been getting better and better with bow. The playstyle that I find fun is ballistics and stamina surge and constitution with the normal sliding skill. This lets you play from a farther range and really tests your headshot skills. I use rapid arrows as well! This makes you feel like a bow sniper and I feel is very fun. Nice video man keep it up
I currently use a full Lunagaron set with the Lunagaron bow. I used to run Absolute Power Shot with Focus Shot, but I find myself using Thunder beetles more with the regular power shot. I have fully stopped using Stamina Surge and made room for Rapid Up and Crit up. I got quite lucky with getting a talisman with Evade Extender 3 and Reload Speed 2. Was able to slot in Defiance to synergize with Agitator. How I play with bow is I start with Power Shot and Focus Shot until I get the boost from Latent Power, then I swap to Aerial aim and just barrage the monster with lots of power shots and aerial shots. Then when it runs out I swap back. I still need to use redirection more consistent though. Aside from that I feel I am using this set to its full potential.
I recently got back into bow in Sunbreak after title update 1 and really wanted to use the new lucent Narga gloves for Adrenaline Rush, so I want to trade some of the con/Stam surge for evade window to make it even easier to pull off the dodgebolts. It's been so much fun that I've added those gloves to most of my sets lol
If you want to use Lucent Gloves, might as well add Bubbly Dance 3 to your build. BD3 will gave you Cons2 and Evade Window2 effect when its active. Combined with Lucent gloves, it will effectively gave you EW5+Consti2. Much easier to proc Adrenaline Rush, while you're stacking additional buff from Resuscitate3 ( +20 Atk ) and Consti2. You can easily have BD3, EW3, SS3, Resus3 without God Talisman, weapon slot and Qurious Augment. But with those tho, you can have an even better build with Coalescence3, Bladescale Hone3 and some bonus skill ( depends on your weapon slot/talisman )
Evade window has absolutely no effect on parry frames of dodgebolt. At 30 fps on switch, 0/5 evade window= 4 parry frames. At 5/5 evade window : still 4 frames. It effects chargestep
I'm an IG Main with aerial whenever I can and struggling with Stamina every now and again. Not anywhere near "fast," but still going for those aimed Kinsect Slashes and Wyvern Dives for that satisfying big hit. When it does connect. Just playing how I have fun. Gotta say: Your playstyle looks so much more comfortable to me than the absolute focus on speed. Seeing Stamina that low all the time is just a no for me.
I found from an MMO video that always having 100% efficiency will kill my drive to play, and thinking for a few seconds, i agreed immensely, many minutes more i still agreed much more than not. I never wanna bring my skills and gear to the absolute pinnacle as fast as possible, just at my own pace while find my own playstyle. If grinding my skills and materials become so great and im only improving on an extremely small scale at this stage of MHR:S then I'd get really bored and stop before I will see the final Title Update. So im glad im just leisurely playing and improving at a moderate pace, for example laughing at how dumb i am for incorrectly judging a gold raths second tail flip, even tho i know she can do it and should be slightly careful. I'm also fan of pre collecting spiribirds, I've come to appreciate the pre hunt routes ive charted, and its not like the monster is going anywhere for the next 50 minutes and regular hunts are still 8-15 minutes depending on my own weapon:monster match up knowledge. I love fighting Furious Rajang, it hasnt changed enough from World to be foreign and its probably one of my more confident fights. Love sniping his head with GS draw attacks, reminiscent of Valour GS Draw attack from GU but i digress. I should preface I'm not a bow player, just enjoy civil discussions with different views. In regards to the video, I found it very interesting that a slight change in a playstyle makes bow stamina much more sustainable and may try it out as I havent touched it since base World because stamina was annoying to manage back then. For an example I'm an enjoyer of LS old playstyle as my red scroll and the new switch skills as my blue scroll, or messing around with GS Surge Slash combo and Backstep is fun and I could use it and make it intuitive to my overall playstyle to spice up a hunt. As a random nobody on the internet Id recommend trying dumb stuff, it may or may not just become apart of your playstyle, because it could be more fun than just doing meta 24/7. My main point of playing MHR is I'm only trying to have fun, all while improving at a pace that wont burn me out yet still be able to see improvements in my gameplay either through mechanical skill or monster knowledge.
Bro i agree, i use a few insect glaive builds on a rotation of sorts and hoenstly the most fun i have is with my dereliction vampire build because it isnt the best one but because its the most fun and most risky. The danger of potentially being one shot by a monster and narrowly avoiding attacks is thrilling but also annoying. It finds a balance somehow. I do rarely use that build when playing online as to not hinder other players but if im with my friends its what ill use
Got reccomended your channel from the Gunlance video you made in base Rise and I have to agree. You don't need some skills if you don't know what you're doing. Evident from one of my friends trying LS for the first time and consequently carting to Tigrex for missing a special sheathe counter eventhough he had Quick Sheathe 3. You mention how speedrun builds just shave seconds off of the hunt and you're definitely right when I try running certain monsters with either off meta or janky builds I just shave off about 10 to 20 seconds. Now I speedrun the game sometimes not for leaderboard positions or anything just for the fun of it and playing like a speedrunner isn't for everyone just like your last video said. Another good thing is to quote a speedrunner who also does build videos and recommends casual builds if you're not that good with the game is that "The most optimal builds don't really change your clear times. If you take 15 minutes to kill a monster an optimized build can probably shave off 20 seconds and if you take 5 minutes to kill a monster the build will probably shave off 2 or 3 seconds". All in all I feel that Capcom has struck a balance on the content of Sunbreak where it's tough enough for the "veteran" hunters to chew through and easy enough so that most if not all new comers to the series can clear every single bit of content they put out.
My ultimate goal in monster Hunter is to play flashy not like a speedrunner who keeps the monster down and doesn't let it move I want to be able to actually have a fight with the monster or whenever it does to attack I counter attack in a flashy way. So to support this play style I do have offensive skills but I also have comfort skills to keep me alive so I can keep attacking the monster without having to worry about taking potions because that's kind of boring in fact I'm actually trying to learn how to use redirection in my bow build so I can dodge attacks they don't know the timing for with Dodge bolt I'm also trying to find a way to fit blood rite in my build so I can keep attacking the monster without having to worry about healing so I have an aggressive play style that I support by having damage boosting skills and defensive skills to keep me alive when I'm being too reckless.
@@CloakedJester here's a recent jp vid I saw, but it's for hammer. ua-cam.com/video/lw1_sNsrlYQ/v-deo.html And Peppo's quick sheath run is another example imo: ua-cam.com/video/fqxt2e0MQG0/v-deo.html Pure speed running is more about script execution and best dps. Stylish hunting can be more on the fly, and will typically have longer times- but are more aesthetic. The JP channel features other weapons too, but it's all in japanese, tho ofc.
I recently started using a bow and with the skill guts it makes me feel less stressed, because since I didn't use the bow at all, getting a second chance at every life makes a big difference and I like using the bow. more and more even though I still haven't mastered it too much, but it's incredibly fun, I don't mind finishing the mission as soon as possible, with any weapon I would look for that, but the way of playing with the bow is so different and fun, that sometimes Sometimes it ends without caring about that.
Personal example though not with bow: I've been farming afflicted Great Baggi with HBG and at first had full-on damage style build. First couple of runs had some carts and finish sub 5, even when doing a bit of bird running at the start. So I noticed that what was "getting me" was how the damage numbers/hit effects were blocking my vision and so I don't see the monster clearly- and I get hit by sleep+lunge so I cart. Solutions: I removed damage numbers & reduced hit effects in options, and for the lolz, I fit in Sleep Res 3. So now, I can see GBaggi clearer. If GBaggi does sleep breath, I just keep shooting, and if he comes at me, I just tackle through. Runs are sub 4 consistently and without carts- and that's with a bit of bird running/gathering points for investigations. So essentially, Sleep Res 3 in this case is a damage output skill. Can the run be faster? Likely yes, but the amount of effort and focus needed to get faster from here is to me, not worth it. I'm just farming. Aside from the speed, I also want the run to be as braindead (comfy, really) as possible for me- so I can have a video/podcast on the side.
both play style is valid as for me i collect spiritbird to max while having stam skill option (max or not) because i want to be comfy and i like running arounda bit collect misc resources to bulk up my pile thats how i have been playing and i find it comfy and less hassle and more enjoable
animation cancel is the reason why bow is fun for me lol... without it i would probably play something else, it just feels so good to dash around and deal 2x damages lol im not a speedrunner just a casual player... its not about the time savings its about getting into the groove with the right timing and button presses... it's like a "zen experience" for me
The comments are so hilarious... I was running out of stamina as well in the early days of Rise trying to dance like a speedrunner until I myself realized "Man I sux at doing this shit, I like my own gameplay style and want to play again more like in 4U, XX and even World", so I went back to the BASICS, and my hunt times improved a lot, the frenetic movement as well and I miss way less shots than before. There was a video of TwoSixNine I think it is where he constantly misses like 2 whole combos in a Great Izuchi for about 6 seconds or more when the monster was laying on the floor... but he was moving and spamming like mad... as fun as it may seem that was a hint on how bad people play with bow trying to speedrun when they lack the skill and waste more time and stamina than going back to the basics of the weapons, something similar happened to me with the Charge Blade and the GunLance but I found my way by going back to XX and playing a little again. I even made a cookie cutter build kind of my own for end game, tried it few times and ditched it in favor of a more comfy/defensive build, I enjoy the game, I like the see the monsters moves, evade them, counter them, have a damn fight against it instead of going for it as a punchbag where I spam attacks and see it crippled and helpless, it completely destroys what Monster Hunter is to me, and it was nice to see something kind of similar in the OLD GAMES but these days that is the "meta" and gameplay that basically ruined the community, the Monster Hunter "Maths" and the play like a speedrunner is the most toxic bs I witnessed since I started with MH4U, that is the reason I rarely follow or watch MH Content Creators while also I keep playing solo 99% the time (the other 1% is with IRL friends)
The problem that I'm having is not about more stamina or more defensive skills...I like to play the dash dance and use some powershots or aerial attacks when opportunities the problem that I'm having is DPS, back in Iceborne I had the dps problem when Barioth came in tier 3 that was my first mh game with bow but in Rise and Sunbreak i used my experience from Iceborne trying to get my Iceborne build more or less in here or what works for me the thing is that it was working fine until more or less untirl tier 5 came... I just did Shagaru Magala and took me 45min... I used Anjanath bow tier 9, with 5 fire attack, 3 crit boost, 3 weakness exploit and 3 rapid and some more skills.. 5 const, 3 sta. surge.... but my dps was trash... and now I have 3 elders to fight to get to the final boss but honestly I don't know how to improve my dps at this point. The crit shots on Shagaru Magala face were like 20-35 per arrow when I could hit him there, in the body the dps was 10-20 per arrow... I ended up exhausted after 45min fight. I know there are maybe better spread builds to stay in the face of the monster all the time with better damage, but I don't have the skill to do that, I'm trying to improve my rapid builds for the last part of the story.
@@iixxion Thanks for replying, unfortunately I don't have discord, but any help that you could provide would be helpful, my equipment is malzeno help, barioth x mail, jyuratodus vambraces x, chrome metal coil x, rakna greaves x, and my talisman is super average, 2 conts and 1 rapid, I'm normally using atm Lunagaron and Ajanath bow tier 9... and my skills are 5 elemental damage, 3 weakness exploit, 3 power rapid, 5 const, 2 stamina surge, 1 ballistic and some more not really relevant at tier 1... I watch videos but I can't find any videos showing shagaru magala with first time damage, all you can find is speed runs, if you take the 5 min I spent collecting birds, the monster took me 40min of fight with two faints. I always play solo btw. I don't think my build is right at this point.
The way I tend to use bow is with max stamina and as much EE as I can fit, but mostly because I use Absolute Power Shot with Bolt Boost for ~2 KOs before switching off that scroll. When I've got infinite combo going, it helps keep it going for way longer, and when I have to reposition and Instant Dodgebolt I recharge very fast so even the lightest break refreshes the infinite combo time. I use everything from Raw w/ Adrenaline Rush and Bladescale Hone to Ele w/ Element Exploit to Blast w/ Status Trigger. Just kinda use what I want depending on the monster and how I feel about taking as many purposeful dodgebolts as I can. There's a part of me that wants to see if Instant Dragonpiercer (It goes off much faster after Dodgebolting successfully) can be used well lmao
For solo hunting I use fortify over guts. This would be a different story if carting affected material drops but it doesn't and on most maps it takes at most 30-45 seconds to get back to the monster. With fortify I almost dare the monster to cart me and play rather reckless at first, if I cart I'm coming back with +%10 attack and %15 defense and if I don't cart then I've dealt more damage than I would have normally.
I love to play with kushalas blessing, defense 7, a recovery pierce/normal bow and without the dodgebolt. Dodging away from the monster with evade extender gives me enough room for my combos and when I my health does go low I just use an arc shot instead of a potion. That defensive playstyle allows me to be really aggressive (never putting the bow away) , but yeah without spiritbirds the stamina does run out even with const. 5. And yeah it is slower, my hunts often take 12-15 mins but that's just not my goal, I just wanna feel powerfull while hunting and that get's me going.
I like playing “Speedrun style” in the sense of using the max dps builds, con/ss, etc. but dont like actually speedrunning. I still collect spiribirds, use power volley & such so it’s not about getting the fastest time humanely possible. I just enjoy doing as much damage as possible, as fast as I can for my skill level. I’m no god at the game, or even close to being a great player but I typically don’t fail quests. I think any style of play is completely fine though, just don’t attack others for whichever they prefer. (Not that you did at all, just a general statement). Good video though, I’ll try a few hunts without and see how it feels!
if you're maxing out your stamina bar, and using power volley liberally, i think you'll find that your stamina bar rarely, if ever, goes below 50%, if you have con/ss at all. so yeah theres a lot of breathing room there.
@@iixxion Yeah, I usually try to max stamina on the way to the monster then have the spiribird deco if i have a free 1slot. I do use ABS, since I like the synergy with stake thrust and use dereliction/MoH so I do run out of stamina usually a few times a hunt. But I do usually play multiplayer with my buddy, solo I find that I don’t run out as much. Will for sure try getting rid of it for solo though, your run in this vid proved imo that it’s not as bad to lose as I thought :)
found a similar situation to this with GS. the builds i was using were strongarm focused and the problem i was having is the second i ran out of my 3rd wirebug it just became so hard to play since i cant kill the monster in like 2min 30 sec. honestly made me just try out different weapons for a bit because i kinda found it annoying being limited to this rigid playstyle. bit recently came back though and was trying out the new backslide switch skill and it's honestly my favourite of the new GS switch skills, made my own build with all the comfort things i wanted and now not only am i having way more fun again, also clearing quests way faster because i wasnt good enough to capitilise on the meta build's advantages anyway.
I use Charging Sidestep over Dodgebolt and Pierce arrows mostly (through the Silver Striker bow), staying far from the monster while outputting damage I run a weird mix of Dragonheart and Blood Awakening/Rite, tying them together with Coalescence from my talisman, so i can benefit from both without sacrificing survivability or needing to stay at low health like most Dragonheart builds. I actually incorporate a lot of defensive skills, making for a sort of ranged juggernaut. So far i haven't seen anyone else play this way or making a similar build but i find it very comfortable, even if it isn't the best dps wise
I love your videos that cover other builds/ playstyles other than the speedrun style. Please make a video on good vs bad defensive skills, because some people absolutely destroy their damage going too hard into defensive skills. I'm don't intend to come across as toxic, but I did an afflicted hunt with 3 randoms, and despite the monster being CC'd pretty effectively, one player had only 11% total damage, and like 13 dps at the highest where if he didn't play defense 7 divine blessing 3 earplugs 5 tremor resist 3 and only the offensive skills that come on the armor he could have done a good portion more damage. (I use a damage meter for my own sake not to make others feel bad).
You make a good point. I think the problem is not the defensive armor skills, but just the skill level of the player. I made a full izuchi set and used it with harbinger bow on an afflicted monster and got a sub-10 minute run. the guy's set was probably OK enough, he just needs some time to learn the cool moves! I might actually make that video, though. But i'd highlight the major difference player skill does when compared to the contribution of your build.
@@iixxion I agree that skill is the most important part to a build, but as a super layman, I know that certain damage skills absolutely have a huge difference. Just WEX3 by itself is a ~12% damage increase over the duration of a hunt, add Crit Boost 3 to that and that's 20%. I don't know much calculations for other damage skills, but I know anecdotally from trying super defense max builds that their damage output feels really awful, and the loss of damage is more noticeable the more other players in the quest with you.
@@zeroshadowzs for sure! what i usually do is observe what they're doing in the quest and if they look like they have the basics down, then i'll make set recommendations. without the skills, the set becomes irrelevant.
I think the hardest thing is.. to translate the Switch Buttons to the pc/xbox controller buttons haha.. So listening to the "press this and that" doesnt always click. Before watching these videos I thought i knew how to animation cancel and all that yes now Im questioning what Ive been doing since 1k hours in word on bow... oh well. More to learn everyday.
Personally, I like using absolute power shot. So I use const, ss, and the switch skill that regens stamina fast all for comfort. I'm not a speed runner and dont use all of the meta skills (like dereliction and bloodlust), but I have completed a sub 6 minute quest against a level 70 afflicted rathian with my current setup.
I also use Absolute Power Shot but honestly only by pure chance. I got a Constitution 3 3-2 Charm which is already insane but it came with Slugger 3 as a secondary skill. I haven't used bow since sunbreak dropped but made me go build a set right away. On the flipside, I haven't gotten any worthwhile charm for weeks on end after that. Used up all my luck with that one.
The Bow build that I have it's quite unique one i assume I used the bubbly ballistic bolt boost build that you made minus the skill that drains your health and I used to play with evade extender plus two so I could Dodge attacks I didn't know the Dodge bolt timing on but then I remembered that the redirection skill exist so now I have that in my build alongside adrenaline rush to replace that health draining skill and redirection I would also love to fit blood rite in my build so I could be even more aggressive so maybe I will in the future with a different build but my main goal in monster Hunter is to play as stylish as possible which means I want to have skills that let me do a lot of damage to the monster without having to drink potions all that much so I can do more cool stuff.
So I do play like a speedrunner… and I also don’t. I collect spiribirds, use underworld petalce, use power volley, and use con5, stam surge3, mind you, I’m not using any decorations to achieve this, I’ve rolled some stamina surge on Qurious crafting, and use rakna greaves and Silver Sol Armguards, again, I love element, so why wouldn’t I use element exploit, right? It’s quite interesting, I do use a lot of stamina, because I main the bow, and I know a lot of what it can do. But I don’t need to use perfect speedrunner style to make good times. One thing though I should note, is even as a generally good bow player, I still learn things, there’s always so many interesting ways to play that I’m still exploring.
Apparently I've been playing like a speedrunner this whole time and never knew it. I'm constantly out of Stamina with maximum Constitution and Stamina Surge, with nearly all Spiribirds, just stepping and Power Shot spamming like the good ol' days of Generations Ultimate. Too miserly to use the-(scoff) *disgusting,* nerfed Dash Juices.
That's why I say to use it when it's safe. and it's safe about 70% of the time. Once you learn the timing on it, and on the monster's moves, you'll be in great shape!
Widdled my con / ss use to around 3 con , 2 ss. That seems to be my comfy spot. Altho if I know I'm gonna need charging sidestep a lot then I go full con / ss cuz oh boy does charging sidestep soak up your stamina lol. Cuz theres just some things I haven't been able to dodgebolt thru or I'm just being a chicken. Freaking Diablos charges lol
About what things I strugle with are... what combination of skills are more damagin, for instance usually lvl 4 Attack Up are only 4 skill points compared to for instance the whole Bubbly Dance / Coales / Resuscitate, or I could change Bubbly for 1 single point into Bloodlust... the thing is what skills should be prioritized to get better DPS, of course stacking all you can with augmentations is nice but not always the case. A lot depends on the gameplay of each obviously, if you are horrible at hitting weakspots or the monster barely has any with bow you could drop Weakness Exploit, and if you can consistently put behind him to make Sneak Attack works then it is a good option, but there is no point on dropping Atck lvl 4 for Agitator when the Atk gain is less overall or going for 3 extra levels of Atck Up to 7 if you can get more increase from other 3 skill points and stay with Atck Up 4
@@iixxion I've been testing but I still could be wrong or maybe some stuff is better in specific situations, at the end I kept the basic until I get better qurio upgrades in the armor with some luck
New player here i really appreciate what you do it has been helping me understand the game and get better so thank you. It is a lot to take in I was wondering if you had any recommendations to a very nood friendly guide that goes over a lot of basics? and thank you for always pushing that having fun is what matters.
Tbh I don't run out of stamina because I play with furious on my bow and db sets. I play more defensive in red scroll and go ham when furious is charged up and go ham in blue scroll. Even then in red I am rarely/ never running out of stamina cuz I'm garbage.
Everybody consistently overlooks the regenerating stamina you get mid melee, Dodge into melee with one point in stamina surge is a stamina positive combo that generates a lot of movement to reposition with.
Haha it's the same when I stumble upon someone who will start to critizice my builds and my gameplay. I ask for their guildcards. I send them mine, they never send theirs back so I could check those arena times. Because that can't lie, no RNG, nothing, just skills.
Came to this channel for some cool bow builds and tips for non-speedrunners. Left the channel after getting sick of the pompous attitude and the us vs. them mentality. Let people play how they want, and if people who can't do that bother you, you just ignore the comments and do what you like.
speedrun wise, con3 + ss 2 is a must, for experience player, i think not taking these skills would still be ok, but from time to time they will find thereself running out of stamina, so taking these skill would make these hunt go smoothly, for new player it is not necessary to take these skill.
I love being nimble and jumping around the monster, so I take evade extender and Con+Surge on most bow hunts and use charging side step and aerial shot. I know it's not optimal, but I don't care about the meta at all. IT'S FUN! 😌 Another fun thing for me is to try and max attack and raw damage on Garangolm bow. "It doesn't have power coating. Chameleos does so it's better!" Nah fam, I use Bladescale Hone to make close range coating, ehhhh, close enough as powerful at least. But more importantly I have over 450 attack and look and feel as sturdy as stone with my giant moss bow and layered armour 🤣
the only reason im running con/ss chargestep is because I suck at dodge timings, they feel really unnatural to me. also using lvl 2 EE, granted I trade in a lot of dps for survivability this way. but untill I learn to be better it's what im sticking with. even with a dash juice I run out of stamina because I keep unloading from a safe distance
as a bow main since mhf2; even with con, dango fighter, dash juice, go fight win, collect birbs, and SS i run out of stam with bow. i miss infinte dash juice and mega juices lol
I don't use bow. But I see so much build online about speed. I get it, MH is a grinding game, but I choose to create build to have fun and mess with the mechanics. I play Sword and Shield and Great Sword. In the end, I don't mind adding 5 minutes to a hunt as long as I enjoy it. Speedrun are just not for me
Still the same core playstyle tho Try R spam and stake thrusts ( power shots leave you in this animation where it takes a bit to get a stake off so this is alot faster) Spamming R fires all your chargelevels one after another
That's Dereliction! It boosts your attack, and drains your health. I don't use it on my builds, but most meta players do. Which is why I put it on that side.
Why i use constitution.. its just fun. I like damage but I play only on free time so there's really no need to go hardcore on dps if I have less fun overall
Given the way stamina fluctuates as you play, I don't think having more stamina actually matters. If your build/playstyle gives negative returns it just means you'll go longer before needing to stop. If you aren't running out then you probably didn't need it to begin with.
Your point on speedruners never using power volley doesn't really make sense to me. I'm assuming you're alluding to Tidus whenever you're referencing speedrun youtubers (correct me if I'm wrong) and he even has a video from all the way back in February talking about good spots to use it. The tl;dw of the video is basically that power volley does less damage than just dash > shot > power shot, but it uses less stamina and is better for KOs (with absolute PS). He also talks about choosing your combo route based on how big of an opening you have. I think you make some good points in a lot of your videos, but it kinda feels like your image of speedrunners is based mostly off of people who try to emulate the playstyle without understanding the little nuances of the weapon/game/monster. That group is probably the most vocal and annoying, but if you address speedrunners as a whole instead of that subset of players it undermines the message you're trying to convey
Ive never run stamina skills on my bow build on the fact that i cant use it effectively mostly due to my lack of skill with the bow. 2 rotations then i run around dodging attacks
ngl I saw the elite speedrunners and assumed that was what bow was meant to be played like, so just copied them. Now I've seen a few things on this channel like the melee build and this one, I am starting to doubt myself over why I shoehorned myself into a slightly unobtainable goal in the first place.
my problem is that i can't get use to the doge bolt. i get so mutch hit and fly around that i want a play style where i can work wit positioning and evade. thats why i think i would need a litte more stamina than you do. but i havent realy time to play test this. however. my times are aroun 12-20min depending on the monster. how well i play and how the figth goes. and thats with my main weapon GS. i think evry one that can pull of a 10min kill on a high monster is way better than they realyze. because if you play like a normal person get hit tos around and heal. it is hard to have a under 10min hunt. i would like to see a quest time tracke for evry player in a database so we can REALY see how fast the "normal" times are. i had the same problem in rise. it took me to long to do quests on my own. just to be clear in world i never had that problem (maybe somtimes when i was playing realy shit and didn't focus at all but thats however) i mean even in older gen games i got better times than in rise. reason why i am tiping this is. i think most of the comunity that want's more dmg is like me, not clearing quest in under 10min and need 20min. they just don't admit it or only look on the timer up rigth and see sournd 14min times and round that down to 10. the reason why i think this is the case because i and 5 friend of mine have the same problem. 4 of them are experience MH players up and to World.
Off topic ish but I wish I was more comfortable w using ballistics on my bow bc I’d really like to use bolt boost,, but I also rly like the crazy evasion and movement I have running focus shot and herc draw on my main scroll *sry I mean running it on my main bar, I do use it but not often bc I’d have to swap scrolls to use then swap back ;-;
the timer on bolt boost is pretty long, so I keep it on the "off" scroll, and switch when i need to refresh, then switch back. it's not too much trouble for me.
A bow player discovered Tidus69s Builds :D
Yeah so basically, because you don't play your weapon sufficiently good you need to downgrade your build. This is fine, but let's not play it like it's not a skill issue
@@ZipMapp pretty much a skill issue on my part, never said it wasn't.
@@charlietr9815 Yes but we're not talking about speedrunners vs non-speedrunners here. Literally this is about efficiency vs comfort
Another good video to listen to. Straight to the point without overflowing the screen with information. I appreciate the effort you put into this
This video was so much easier to watch than the one from a few weeks ago! Well presented and great info!
"Why are you using the Demon Petalace if you aren't collecting Spiribirds?" Great question!!!
I don't think we will get an answer tho...
Spiritbird's call and spiritbird dango existing for a reason
I love that you're using golden rath bow.
Always happy to see underrated bows getting used. Ure right I liked this video.
Keep at it friend!
that is an excellent analogy!
Stamina Surge is a bonus if I can get it, but not really a core skill for me because I use the stamina regain wirebug (can't remember the name of it.) With Con5 and that wirebug skill, I am attacking nonstop which, as I said before, adds to the playstyle I enjoy.
i started using bow in world and learned to play it there, so when i came to rise, i continued playing bow as if it was world, constitution 2 or 3 with stamina surge 3 and charging sidestep
thats the playstyle of bow i fell in love with and its the playstyle im gonna continue using.
I easily get sub 10 minute on the hardest monsters and sub 8 against less difficult monsters.
.hile its interesting to see bow without cons or stam surge, im most likely not going to be using it, just because i think my current playstyle is more fun, still a good video, its been very educational
Awesome! I'm not saying one is better than the other; a lot of people ask me how I can play well without con/ss. So this video explains that.
Lol I guess it’s more for us 🤣

It’s insane!!
It's not impossible tho, you just need Cons 3 and Lambent Gloves to perma dodge chain any monster
I suspect it is better than many speedrunners builds, unfortunately I'm not a speedrunner lol, but every now and then I have a really good hunt and it makes it worthwhile.
come over to the discord and share your build! I wonder if it looks like my latest one...
I'd love to know which guy this is in the quote! If you have a video I can watch, that would be awesome!

oh! I'm glad I play Gunlance so I can build whatever I want, attack wherever I want and still do a lot of damage anyway.
This playstyle in JP they call "stylish hunting" and is another perfectly fine way to enjoy the game.
@@jephilologist Ok I need to find a Stylish Hunting community, my energy blade urges need it.
@@CloakedJester here's a recent jp vid I saw, but it's for hammer.

And Peppo's quick sheath run is another example imo:
ua-cam.com/video/fqxt2e0MQG0/v-deo.html
Pure speed running is more about script execution and best dps.
Personal example though not with bow:
I've been farming afflicted Great Baggi with HBG and at first had full-on damage style build.
Aside from the speed, I also want the run to be as braindead (comfy, really) as possible for me- so I can have a video/podcast on the side.
what is sub meaning in sub 5?
@@kamalasyari2392 sub: means under. "sub 5" means under 5 minutes. Sub 4 = under 4 minutes
both play style is valid
as for me i collect spiritbird to max while having stam skill option (max or not) because i want to be comfy and i like running arounda bit collect misc resources to bulk up my pile
thats how i have been playing and i find it comfy and less hassle and more enjoable
animation cancel is the reason why bow is fun for me lol... without it i would probably play something else, it just feels so good to dash around and deal 2x damages lol im not a speedrunner just a casual player... its not about the time savings its about getting into the groove with the right timing and button presses... it's like a "zen experience" for me
The comments are so hilarious...
I even made a cookie cutter build kind of my own for end game, tried it few times and ditched it in favor of a more comfy/defensive build, I enjoy the game, I like the see the monsters moves, evade them, counter them, have a damn fight against it instead of going for it as a punchbag where I spam attacks and see it crippled and helpless, it completely destroys what Monster Hunter is to me, and it was nice to see something kind of similar in the OLD GAMES but these days that is the "meta" and gameplay that basically ruined the community, the Monster Hunter "Maths" and the play like a speedrunner is the most toxic bs I witnessed since I started with MH4U, that is the reason I rarely follow or watch MH Content Creators while also I keep playing solo 99% the time (the other 1% is with IRL friends)
this is some hard truth you're dropping right now.
Come on over to the discord server and we can do some troubleshooting!
I use Charging Sidestep over Dodgebolt and Pierce arrows mostly (through the Silver Striker bow), staying far from the monster while outputting damage
I run a weird mix of Dragonheart and Blood Awakening/Rite, tying them together with Coalescence from my talisman, so i can benefit from both without sacrificing survivability or needing to stay at low health like most Dragonheart builds.
People refuse to accept playing "META" sets wrong is slower than playing comfy or personalized sets.
A.Rathian. casual hunter. 4-5 mins. HBG. no sweat needed :)
The point is keep shooting maxed level bow charged while didn't get hit or knockback from monster
That's why stamina is important
Stamina is very important. Stamina management is also very important. Stamina armor skills are not very important.
this guy is so based
iixion I love the way you cover everything, going against & attacking the meta. I appreciate it so much you are a saint
Dogged bolt is my problem all bad timing last thing is carpal tunnel pain 😢
Excuse me sir I’m going to need to see some more vids dunking on rurikhan. You haven’t had one in awhile lol. Great vids man keep it up

I think dash dancing is fun. I'm a bad player.
i never thought my comment would be mentioned in a video omg this is the first time😭
The Bow build that I have it's quite unique one i assume I used the bubbly ballistic bolt boost build that you made minus the skill that drains your health and I used to play with evade extender plus two so I could Dodge attacks I didn't know the Dodge bolt timing on but then I remembered that the redirection skill exist so now I have that in my build alongside adrenaline rush to replace that health draining skill and redirection I would also love to fit blood rite in my build so I could be even more aggressive so maybe I will in the future with a different build but my main goal in monster Hunter is to play as stylish as possible which means I want to have skills that let me do a lot of damage to the monster without having to drink potions all that much so I can do more cool stuff.
Blood Rite is definitely underrated.
Very good video man
So I do play like a speedrunner… and I also don’t.
I just use stanima surge so I can continue to learn bow to get a little better at it
Problem with powershot volley is the lack of agility, not DPS. It's a GG when you get a volley out at the wrong time.
A lot depends on the gameplay of each obviously, if you are horrible at hitting weakspots or the monster barely has any with bow you could drop Weakness Exploit, and if you can consistently put behind him to make Sneak Attack works then it is a good option, but there is no point on dropping Atck lvl 4 for Agitator when the Atk gain is less overall or going for 3 extra levels of Atck Up to 7 if you can get more increase from other 3 skill points and stay with Atck Up 4
Sometimes the only way to know which one is better, is to test them yourself.
@@iixxion I've been testing but I still could be wrong or maybe some stuff is better in specific situations, at the end I kept the basic until I get better qurio upgrades in the armor with some luck

It is a lot to take in I was wondering if you had any recommendations to a very nood friendly guide that goes over a lot of basics? and thank you for always pushing that having fun is what matters.

@@iixxion Thanks a ton.
Tbh I don't run out of stamina because I play with furious on my bow and db sets. I play more defensive in red scroll and go ham when furious is charged up and go ham in blue scroll.
Even then in red I am rarely/ never running out of stamina cuz I'm garbage.
I just make full sets and make the playstyle from there, mizu armor is the most fun with con 5, evade window and bubbly dance
I should start doing this!
I run out of stamina a lot without consti and surge but then I just use focus shot real quick and keep going with my combo
There are actually some speedruns appearing now with zero con/ss. People are finally coming around!
Thanks man you helped out
I love being nimble and jumping around the monster, so I take evade extender and Con+Surge on most bow hunts and use charging side step and aerial shot. I know it's not optimal, but I don't care about the meta at all. IT'S FUN! 😌
Another fun thing for me is to try and max attack and raw damage on Garangolm bow.
Oh, and maxing Ice element on bow is one of my favourite things, too xD
And I'm that guy who hates reapplying buffs so just cram in as much cons/ss as possible...
my favorite playstyle choice is to have fun
Okay where did you get these speed runner sets from though? I'd like to compare them to the ones I've seen.
the only reason im running con/ss chargestep is because I suck at dodge timings, they feel really unnatural to me. also using lvl 2 EE, granted I trade in a lot of dps for survivability this way. but untill I learn to be better it's what im sticking with. even with a dash juice I run out of stamina because I keep unloading from a safe distance
if it lets you do what you're trying to do, then it's definitely what you want!
as a bow main since mhf2;
even with con, dango fighter, dash juice, go fight win, collect birbs, and SS i run out of stam with bow.
i miss infinte dash juice and mega juices lol
I'd love to see a video of your playstyle!

Speedrun are just not for me
Still the same core playstyle tho
Try R spam and stake thrusts ( power shots leave you in this animation where it takes a bit to get a stake off so this is alot faster)
Spamming R fires all your chargelevels one after another
Question ^^ : What is this Red...Birdy...Thing around your Char? How can i get it and what is the Effect from it ??? Thx.
That's Dereliction! It boosts your attack, and drains your health. I don't use it on my builds, but most meta players do. Which is why I put it on that side.
Just run a berserk stride build. With immunizer and gourmet fish. Infinite stamina is so niceeeee.
Of course have kushallas blessing lvl 3 with this. Then it’s hard to die. Just skill swap and swap back if you get hit
BIIIIIIRBSSSSS
Imagine there being more than one way to play the game and be successful
So what would a build look like for base rise without using con and ss?
Ive never run stamina skills on my bow build on the fact that i cant use it effectively mostly due to my lack of skill with the bow.
2 rotations then i run around dodging attacks
ngl I saw the elite speedrunners and assumed that was what bow was meant to be played like, so just copied them. Now I've seen a few things on this channel like the melee build and this one, I am starting to doubt myself over why I shoehorned myself into a slightly unobtainable goal in the first place.
What's constitution and stamina surge ?
my problem is that i can't get use to the doge bolt. i get so mutch hit and fly around that i want a play style where i can work wit positioning and evade. thats why i think i would need a litte more stamina than you do. but i havent realy time to play test this.
however. my times are aroun 12-20min depending on the monster. how well i play and how the figth goes. and thats with my main weapon GS. i think evry one that can pull of a 10min kill on a high monster is way better than they realyze. because if you play like a normal person get hit tos around and heal. it is hard to have a under 10min hunt. i would like to see a quest time tracke for evry player in a database so we can REALY see how fast the "normal" times are.
i had the same problem in rise. it took me to long to do quests on my own. just to be clear in world i never had that problem (maybe somtimes when i was playing realy shit and didn't focus at all but thats however)
i mean even in older gen games i got better times than in rise. reason why i am tiping this is. i think most of the comunity that want's more dmg is like me, not clearing quest in under 10min and need 20min. they just don't admit it or only look on the timer up rigth and see sournd 14min times and round that down to 10.
the reason why i think this is the case because i and 5 friend of mine have the same problem. 4 of them are experience MH players up and to World.
Looking at all this I'd rather just go LBG. This looks super complicated for casual gamer like me :D
Off topic ish but I wish I was more comfortable w using ballistics on my bow bc I’d really like to use bolt boost,, but I also rly like the crazy evasion and movement I have running focus shot and herc draw on my main scroll
*sry I mean running it on my main bar, I do use it but not often bc I’d have to swap scrolls to use then swap back ;-;
the timer on bolt boost is pretty long, so I keep it on the "off" scroll, and switch when i need to refresh, then switch back. it's not too much trouble for me.
