- Unreleased BTS of drifting the Nurburgring! The culmination of years of dreaming and two different attempts at making those dreams of drifting the entire Nurburgring a reality, it's hard to believe it's already been ONE year since the video release!! It's a memory that I know I will cherish forever and hopefully one that all of the hardworking individuals seen here in this behind the scenes doc will as well!
Crazy to think Vaughn lives right down the road from me. See him in his silver Ford truck all the Time and ran into him at a small Indian restaurant. He’s a great,humble guy that purely loves what he does!! Thanks Vaughn for all you do for the drift community

wow i never realized you did an actual proper lap all in one go. two of them! i just remember seeing the cinematic video and hearing that it was filmed a couple corners at a time and thinking "well ok, thats not really legit". i now have way more respect for this feat of talent.
He's not doing that much. Anyone could drift Nordschleife with a bit of practice.
Go watch "Fredriks DRIFT", Sörlie drifting a Cressida around the ring, also in one go, and he doesn't have producers and 500 crew members with him ;)

@@HoodOnFire well the nordschleife isn't exactly a hard circuit to drift, maybe hard to drive at very high speeds but really not hard to drift (if you've got at least a little bit of experience drifting obviously)

"Torino Connect" and "put on the rain pads" have gotta be my favorite quips from this video. Great driving, Vaughn! To drive that sideways on the 'Ring with only a gear oil drain for a casualty seems really impressive. So when's he gonna drag another D1 drifter out to do some tandem work? :D

I love and share this dream, and I think it’s amazing that you can actually prepare with a racing game, something we new would happen one day as kids in the 80s 😌 Also I’ve enjoyed learning of a personal side of VGJ, he loves his mom, was raised right and never stopped following his dreams.
There was an old video of a German dude in a big Mercedes that drifted a full lap of the Ring on a single set of tires. He hooked up a large water tank that sprayed water on the rear tires to keep the temps down and make the rubber last. It wasn't super big angle and low/no smoke but he did drift the whole ring without stopping in one go.
I always wanted to hook up water sprayers on the rear tires for practice/fun days but never got around to it.
This gave me goosebumps!

Thats awsome he uses forza for reference and practice. Ive been playing forza since it came out and most of those tracks i know very well turn for turn including Nurburgring. I have never raced at one of these tracks hopefully playing forza will help..

For those interested in a little history search yellow bird nurburgring, that was 33 years ago and there's even a little drifting in there.

I actually met Vaughn at the American Muscle show at Maple Grove raceway in 2014. Really cool guy and he was nice enough to sign the dashboard on my 2010 Mustang GT pictured

Misha has his own channel! I am subscribed to his Boosted Boris channel as well. I think I unsubscribed to his actual channel a while back but, yeh, I'll sub to his channel again. The decibel limit is a pain unless you purchase the days for unlimited noise pollution which is quite expensive because so many car makers want to run their newest car there. The amount of noise goes into their allowed limit for the year. Extremely inane.

I love how this just pops up in my recommended after I just threw away a video of me trying to drift the nurburgring... (on Forza) It's almost impossible because the track is so narrow.
You probably have traction control , stability and abs on! All that with race tires equiped

If i can do it on AC and GT: Sport with a controller in "stock" cars (ie. no angle kit etc.), you can do it on Forza ^^ keep at it!
You gotta get high instant horsepower(super charger) and used to doing both throttle and brake at the same time (with your brake balance favoring front). That allows you the control that you need.
I have always wanted to race Rally. Sadly with my back as jacked up as it is regular day to day driving gets to me some times. Drifting would be cool I just don’t have the sort of money to build a car, not to mention building it work around severe spine pain that way it doesn’t make it worse. I’ve played in Mustangs back in the S197 release and toyed around with my Raptor and he’s right, it isn’t nearly as fun...
