I think both movies feel very dated, but at least the original has a cool retrofuturist vibe. As flawed as the original is, I have a soft spot for it and never found it boring.
The remake is a different story entirely. It's objectively an awful movie and I couldn't even finish it. Its one of the worst movies that I've ever seen.
