When this movie came out, I was a security guard in a movie theatre in Mississauga Ontario Canada. Opening night we were alerted that one of the stars of the movie was going to be there with his family. Paulo Costanzo. He looked at me and my coworker and said, “ooo rent a cop”. 😂
When you mentioned that there was another movie released around the same time with a very similar story line, I figured that you were talking about Overnight Delivery. I remember seeing that on one of the movie channels years ago on TV. I vaguely remember it being good, but aside from the idea of the guy trying to stop the delivery guy and the delivery guy being determined to a comedic degree to deliver the package, I don't remember much more about it.
Love this film. I saw this in the theater as well with my late older brother a year after American Pie. It premiered a few days after my birthday. Great memories

Great job Minty! These are the new classic movies we want to know about! I remember going to the theater with my best friend and our girlfriend's, who were both foreign exchange students, and we were in tears laughing so much! Which taught me no matter where you're from young people are the same regardless where you're from. We all understand young, dumb shenanigans!
There were some scenes filmed at the Georgia Tech campus as well (I was a student at the time). Specifically where Tom Green is leading the tour group past a fountain and when Anthony Rapp is telling the class that the exam will cover _ALL_ in-class lectures.
Road trip gained traction after it's release. (No pun intended.) It seemed like a discount American Pie at first, but definitely had it's own allure. However, it does highlight the need for the right people in your life. The wrong ones can ruin a great bonding experience. I lost most of my road trip buddies. I miss those years. Life is short. Go on road trips as often as you can.
My road trip buddies were guys in my units while I was in the military,served in both the navy and the army ( tho not at the same time-LOL ) I too miss those years,glad I was so-NAUGHTY-while in the military-LOL. I had a lot of-FUN-maybe-TOO-much fun tho.
Thanks for this Minty! I was 14 when the film was released and it was the first movie I bought on DVD on my 15th birthday! I'm 38 now and I watched it 2 months ago for the first time in over 10 years and it is still hilarious fun. I love the police officers at the car jump scene. The comedic timing and inflections are perfect!

I watched that DVD a million times. So much so that I noticed a pretty obvious reshoot of a few of the Tom Green scenes. There's an older dad who has glasses and gray hair. When he speaks, it's one actor. For some of the crowd walk & talk scenes, sometimes he's there, and sometimes a much younger extra with spray painted gray hair has subbed in! There's at least one other featured extra who gets subbed for in the reshoots. Great movie!
I don't like "pranks" that come at innocent stranger's expense, & yet I never had a problem with Tom Green doing it... ...maybe I would nowadays. I'd say we probably both grew out of it. I can remember trying to Skype with him when he moved his show to his house lol

Also, even though Sean William Scott's character is similar to Stifler, EL is not a douchebag like Stifler. He actually seamed like he cared about this friends. And I actually really like Eurotrip as it's own thing.

I remember seeing the movie, and tried to not think about American Pie that came out one year earlier. I must quote Burt Gummer from Tremors 2 who says: "I feel I was denied, critical, need to know, information". Those words came to me after seeing the movie. Frank Ward is most famous for his casting in the Tremors movies by the way. I still find it great to watch, even though it has some crazy stuff in it. It gives me some Ferris Buellers Day Off vibes, but I haven't watched Animal House, so I will have to see that for more comparison. Great review by the way. This movie was crazy to me. I went to college at Belmont with DJ. I left to go work as a sound engineer in the Caribbean for 2 years. I come back and here's this dude I went to school with on movie posters. 😅
The funny thing is I'm currently watching different teen comedies and Road Trip along with American Pie are on that list and you release this video along with an American Pie video. Talk about perfect timing.
Beyond the college locations, there were some other scenes filmed around Atlanta. The shots of the bus that Amy Smart rode occurred along the Downtown Connector in Atlanta. The diner scene happened at the Gwinnett Diner in Lawrenceville,GA, but the place is under a different name now.

Although it came out in 2000 I was only 15 and still feels like the 90s time of my life. I love this movie. Definitely one of those classic stoner comdies I would watch with my group of friends. I honestly like this movie much more than American Pie as far as being rewatchable.

Beyond the college locations, there were some other scenes filmed around Atlanta. The shots of the bus that Amy Smart rode occurred along the Downtown Connector in Atlanta. The diner scene happened at the Gwinnett Diner in Lawrenceville,GA, but the place is under a different name now.

Although it came out in 2000 I was only 15 and still feels like the 90s time of my life. I love this movie. Definitely one of those classic stoner comdies I would watch with my group of friends. I honestly like this movie much more than American Pie as far as being rewatchable.
But American Pie is way more of a classic and is still remembered more. Road Trip was only a movie for it’s time, for the most part
