The movie was utterly atrocious, but as guy above mentioned - nobody really wanted it, not the live action movie.

+Nachiket Rao Making Sam Raimi rush the movie didn't help. They wanted to do Spider-Man 4 even faster and make it 3D to boot. He'd never even worked with 3D and didn't want to just churn out another bad movie. They wanted it complete in less than a year. Greed is what made Spider-Man 3 so bad. You'd think after the excellent Spider-Man 2 they would just let Sam Raimi do what he wants and give him plenty of time. The second one is still one of the best superhero movies of all time.

+Joseph Martinez When I saw it I thought it was a disgrace to Marvel movies,but after watching alot more bad movies and reading the spider man comics again and realizing what Spider Man really was,I think the first two were Marvel sell-out movies infusing the already popular spider man with a rom-com drama while spider man 3 was a legitamate action movie that tried its best to recap spider man comics into a movie,but unfortunately,due to a lack of time and a lack of faith,it didn't turn out well.Honestle,I don't think any of the spider man movies,except for amazing spider man 2,were either noteworthy nor were they true to the comics(except for amazing spider man 1,wich was just an all around bad movie with an empty plot,in my opinion WORST then spider man 3).

+Izanami 2803 Well here's what I think. The 2 films i compare are both antman and age of ultron cuz they released this year. Anyway, the way i see it, Ant Man was a funny film and more lighthearted than avengers because it didn't take itself too seriously. It had some weird and cool sequences such as the quantum realm. Age of ultron was basically the same shit all over again like in Avengers, only that part 1 was awesome because it was really funny and first time we see an alliance. Where i think age of ultron failed is the fact that Joss whedon and the cast (maybe not cast's fault) took himself too seriously and gave us that funny but abomination of a film. If he wouldn't have emphasized so much on the characters attitudes, i think it would have been successful. I mean come on, The hulk used to be this kind of quiet and smart scientist and theres this scene where he's making fun of Tony stark by parroting whatever he said only in a stupid and sarcastic way. It was stupid dialogue like his, that made me think of this film as below average. The only good part in my opinion about AOF is The Vision. I was amazed at the fact that he picked up Thor's hammer like a BOSS. I think when Joss came up with the idea of the 2nd part, he sort of pitched it this way, "Let's make Tony stark be more full of himself and let's make Hulk/Banner more like a snotty teenager that copies there parents just to annoy them." I loved AntMan cuz they didn't put much emphasize on "logic", but it of course had common sense.
"Godzilla 1998" was indeed a huge letdown for many devoted Godzilla fans. But certainly not for me personally. I love Godzilla, but I'm not hardcore about him. Being open-minded is what has allowed me to love the movie to this day.

Even with suicide squad
Every live action DC movie after Batman Returns was pretty bad. The exceptions are RED, Watchmen, Batman v Superman Ultimate Edition, There Will Be Blood, and V for Vendetta. The Dark Knight Trilogy was very bad.
If you want to watch decent DC then you have to watch the animated movies.
The Dark Knight Trilogy is easily superior to all the movies you've put down, especially Batman Returns.

Tron legacy is one of my top movies so far. Upset they arent continuing the movie though.
It was a nice sort of sequel to the original. Gorgeous too. And amazing soundtrack.

I honestly believe that where they left off was an amazing place to leave at. it was awesome and really gripped our heart strings. Only true fans understand how awesome this movie was after waiting years for a new movie. I will always love it. I'm still listening to the Tron Legacy soundtrack to this day

Eragon ripped of Star Wars with the scene where the bad guy (Darth Vader) kills one of his generals and replaces him with the first guy he sees, and then repeats the cycle.

Definitely top 3, but I think it wasn't highly anticipated outside of the fan base.
I did like and enjoy the film, It just that didn't like is the casting, characters, sprit dragon. CGI, Plot, Fight scenes are good. I don't hate this film despite a 6% on Rotten tomatoe.
If you really thought Revenge of the Fallen would be good, you've got only yourself to blame really.

It wasn't very anticipated because pretty much a lot of people knew this movie was gonna be shit before his release.

Insanity, I can't imagine how Tron could be here. It's one of the most enjoyable movies ever. Then again this is from the same people that anticipated the remake of Godzilla, so it all makes sense.
I thought Tron 2 was great fun, quite pacy with some excellent music, certainly I wasn't disappointed with it.
did you see the original when it was in the theaters in the 80's? you have to have seen it in the 80's to understand why this one is a dissapointment. you will not understand why if you have seen the original in recent times and was not around to see it when it was released. IF you only have exposure to the relentless Michael Bayification/popcornification of technological and effects dependent films...the original will not be that impressive if you compare it to modern sci fi movies. the original had a good plot line and theme...this version was thin in that regard.
the original was ahead of its time in regards to theme and plot philosophically and religion wise. that is why it did not do well yet became a cult classic.
Just like the John Carpenter's original "The Thing" and the new remake...the 80's version is much more impressive.

I watched the original back in the 80s many times, was one of my favorite movies growing up, great stuff too.
The original Tron was way before it's time in my opinion, and the previous one was great it just didn't meet the expectations it had like the, well the original exceeded
pisses me off how people bag on George Lucas when the fandom as a whole practically FORCED George Lucas to make these prequels. He did this on a bit of a time crunch, and yet when he gave the people what he could they sass at him. THEY WERE NOT THAT BAD PEOPLE!!! Sure they weren't the cinematic masterpieces that the previous trilogy was but Lucas was starting from scratch when he started star wars, things became different by the time the previous 3 came out. and now Lucas isn't even involved in the making of the new trilogy! Fans constantly complain when directors try to give them what they want and this rant came from "the straw that broke the camels back".
And one of the problems was Lucas's own promise to the fans. He promised that every licensed piece of media would be cannon... Sure, it sold crappy paperbacks and comics, but by the time he got around to the prequels, he was somewhat pigeonholed...
You can also attribute his own success to the failure. When he made A New Hope, he was fairly unknown and inexperienced. He made some really good decisions business-wise (taking a paycut for merch rights), but the movies were a success because of the people surrounding him... Actors, FX people, etc... He got tons of help with how to do things and he took advice in stride...
Fast forward to the prequels, and he was regarded as a god among movie-makers... Although he had learned quite a bit, his desires for the Star Wars franchise didn't even line up with his fans... He basically admitted as much with all of the stupid additions done to the original trilogy and him essentially burning the unaltered masters...
All of it just goes to show that he had no idea what made Star Wars great... He saw all the merch he sold with R2-D2 and C3PO, so we got Jar-Jar Binks, the most annoying character to ever attempt to be a movie's comic relief... Also not sure what the hell he was thinking with Yoda... Somehow 20 or so years alone on Degobah gave him a sense of humor?

Tron legacy was not disappointing. In it you get the nostalgic feeling as you were as a kid watching the first one for the first time, and then when he gets transported into the system it's actually about ten times better than the first one with all of our CGI today. I actually saw it in 3D form on IMAX screen when it came out and it kinda changed my life for the better. And to talk about the soundtrack. I still can't get enough of that music till this day....

I agree Tron Legacy was amazing and my nephews and niece I took with me to see in 3D loved it as well.. Great story, great soundtrack..

Film studios often blame piracy when one of their movies doesn't do as well as expected, but I don't buy it.
Some of the most financially successful movies are also among the most pirated, which puts a bit of a dent in the theory that piracy causes movies to lose money.
And to answer your question, people go to the movies for the social experience of watching in a theater with other people.

Theatres have changed over the last 10 years thanks to downloading.. Ticket prices almost hit $20 per person at one time, and movies took almost a year to be released.. Now tickets are reasonable and they give you a chance to spend a few extra dollars for the early digital release of the film you watched..
Some theatres have Bars, and confection prices have damn near doubled..
Dredd was an amazing movie and made only $35 million worldwide.. While Karl Urban wants to do a sequel, and a lot of fans do to, the studio won't because that movie was downloaded to hell and back.. Apparently Bluray and Dvd Sales of the film were pretty high..
TMNT out of Shadows is again doing poorly at the boxoffice, yet it's the highest downloaded torrent right now..

Why do people keep using that saturday night fever scene as an excuse to hate the whole of Spider-Man 3? It was meant to be funny, not taken seriously, can't you see the looks on the faces of the people around Peter? That proves it's not meant to be taken seriously! It's meant to be Peter, a nerd who lives with his 60 year old aunt, acting in a way that he thinks is "cool".

Just like Trevor said. You have to deliver on some pretty high quality content if you're going to radically change a character's personality when they have a huge fan base. For instance, if John Wayne became a comedian, if the Joker became a good guy, or if Superman decides to enjoy the finer things in life and not "waste his time" saving people anymore.
I fell asleep during the Last Airbender and had to watch it again, but I fell asleep again.

One of my biggest beefs with Airbender was the terrible depiction of Firebending. They had to take the fire, that was already a flame instead of making it.

Man TRON was an awesome movie. CGIs and Music by Daft Punk was AMAZING. Yeah acting was not great and story was okay but i really enjoyed. It should not be there in the list, in-fact fudge you watchmojo, Ima watch it RIGHT NOW.

Idk man. I really loved it. It was perfect for me except couple of things like acting and as tomi said 'story' etc but music and direction was really good. Music was on point as it should be for a World like that and CGI were really top notch, what I would expect in a gaming world. BUT if they are talking about disappointment (how much money the movie made) then mojo could be write. It's my personal POV

Tron Legacy was not disappointing. It was a near perfect, natural continuance of the story that began in Tron. The only problem I had was it seemed rushed, this is one movie that should have been split into at least two...

Jordan O'C If Disney had split the film they could have spent the first film introducing "The Grid", and developing the characters, maybe ending with Quorra rescuing Sam from Clu at The Games, and heading off to meet his father. Just like Barbossa reappeared right at the end of the second PotC movie...

I agree on Salvation being much better than the third one. It paid off on a couple of things in the Terminator series. For example [SPOILER] in T3 Arnold tells John Conner that he is the one who kills him in the future then, of course, that happens in Salvation.
A 2016 version of this movie would have Suicide Squad on it.

Tron Legacy is one of my favorite movies, and the funny thing is, I was necessarily "excited" to see it. I've always loved that sort of futuristic atmosphere (not the boring futuristic themes like Fallout), and when I saw the movie I just loved it, so much. And the game that came out around the same time was badass AF too

I watched the first one today and the plot was just not too interesting to me. I enjoyed Goodfellas though. The acting was great too.
The first one was overrated honestly. It tried to show the different personality between brothers, one smart but hot headed(sonny), one kind of dumb but had a heart of gold(fredo) and one who was smart, calculating and cold(Michael).
The second movie really focuses on the contrast of father and son as they were Godfathers. It has seens of Vito who was an orphan created and cherish his family while his son who had a family pushed away and was cold to them. Also the acting is so much better in the second then the first.
personally... Eragon was the worst for me. Destroyed my favorite novel.

Agreed! They skipped a huge majority of major plot points and miscast nearly everyone. Jeremy Irons is a great actor but there was no way he could have saved that abomination.

There is NO WAY that Indiana Jones and Episode I were worse than The Last Airbender. Sure we had Jar Jar (I don't even need to explain that, you all know already) but the final lightsaber duel was good in my opinion and sure maybe the last Indiana film wasn't as great (still at least decent) as the older ones, but man. You can't pay me to sit and watch The Last Airbender again. The cartoon was a million times better.

I thought Indiana Jones And The Kingdom Of The Crystal Skulls should have been number one on this list. First of all I understand exactly what they mean when they say it tries too hard and doesn't try at all. Second of all it didn't even feel like an adventure film to me. It felt like some cheesy made for TV movie on the syfy channel.
Tron was rad, Matrix revolutions was freaking incredible, Hangover two was funny as fuck, terminator was a darker more adult film.. Watch Mojo dropped the ball here..

Agreed! I think the very "clinical" action scenes just added to the "video game"-feel of it! I really felt it was not just another world, but an entirely different reality than the world we live in. For me it''s already a classic movie.
Episode 1 wasn't bad. People invent their "complete" version in their heads and refuse to have anything to disrupt their illusionary utopia, even if it was a change from the creator. Fanboys/girls needs to learn to adapt or move on.

I know! I love all star wars movies and they are good. But the thing here is that...there are a lot of haters...
Nope, it was a bad movie. The plot was convoluted, the characters undimensional, bland and unlikable and many of them were completely unnecessary to the story, the acting was wooden and the dialogue was poorly written. It was a mess and deserves the #1 spot. John Williams soundtrack was good though.
The actors didn't properly react to the environment (CGI added after the filming). There was little passion or tension. The actors (especially the children) appeared to be reciting lines for an oral report in school, not "acting". There were inconsistencies and plot holes regarding how the force worked and decisions made by the characters.
The CGI was good. It was coherent. Some battles were epic. So it was definitely better than some low-budget slasher films.
But it deserves the #1 spot because it was SO anticipated and the expectations were through the roof.
I love the fact that everyone is a fucking critic and know about everything... The movie was made to be enjoyed and I did and I'm glad I did because i'm not like every hater over here.

Well, it appears that SOMEONE hasn't done their research! The prequel trilogy of Star Wars was already written back when George Lucas first created the original Star Wars trilogy; he just returned to it at the peak of Star Wars' success.

I liked Tron Legacy. It wasn't Citizen Kane or La Dolce Vita but as a mindless popcorn movie it wasn't half bad.

MrVonSchiller I totally agree on that. Aliens Colonial Marines had a lot going for it from the promos. And then we all saw what it really looked like on the day it dropped. Duke Nukem Forever had a lot of followers ad supporters…..and then they saw what it ended up being in the end.

I did enjoy Phantom Menace but I didn't like the rush ness, jar jar (because it made me laugh), bad cgi. But like is Kid Anakin, Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan, Fight scenes, Darth Maul, Battle Droid, Humors, Mace Windu, action sequence and Yoda.
Fantastic Four (2015) would definitely make the list.
Bad acting in Star Wars Episode 1? Bullshit, they had Liam Neeson, Ewan McGregor and Natalie Portman. They acted just fine, and I actually enjoyed Darth Maul as well, rather than any other sith. People were whining about JarJar, but who gives a fuck about one character they dont like?
I think the diehard fans hated the kid Skywalker the most. I thought episode 1 wasn't bad too, It just didn't quite lived up to the original trilogy.
All of the acting in Episode 1 was forced due to bad dialogue. I rate Natalie Portman as a great actress but Eps 1-3 are her worst acting efforts by far! The top being Ep 3 WOEFUL!

I loved all of Tron Legacy. I've watched it six times, and still enjoy it.

While Matrix Revolutions, Godfather Part III, and Indiana Jones 4 are each a step down from their predecessors, I still liked all of them. They weren't awesome, but they were still good and welcome parts of their franchises, in my opinion. Also, I really liked Terminator: Salvation and Phantom Menace. I would put Spider-Man 3 and Batman & Robin on this list before the ones I just defended.

Terminator Salvation I thought was pretty good. Terminator 3 should have been on this list, it was just horrible. young John Conner completely deviated from his character it was almost parody. And I totally agree with you on Indiana Jones 4, I wish I could un-see it. just so it wont tarnish my memory of the original trilogy.

Matrix Revolutions was not a let down, most people had trouble understanding it because of Reloaded. If you understood the first two then Revolutions makes a lot of sense and is very profound.

Tron Legacy was pretty good, pretty much exactly what it was advertised as.Godzilla is stupid as fuck in the first place, expecting a remake to be good is unwise. The first Hangover was also shit in my opinion, but yea what I saw of the 2nd one was even worse (because it was the exact same thing). Terminator Salvation starred Sam Worthington, what did you expect? even an angry Bale couldn't carry a sack of shit like him through a movie. Revenge of the Fallen was exactly what it was advertised as, it looked mostly bad and it was, no disappointment there. Speed Racer was also exactly what it was advertised as and had some interesting visuals at least. Star Wars I is not a bad movie, it's an okay movie that people were pissed at because of immense nostalgia. In fact its slightly better than Episode VI, but I understand why it's on the list. The rest are pretty fair disappointments though.
So almost everything was bad, but because you could expected them to be bad, that's okay.
Episode I was NOT better than VI. VI has the series' most dramatic moment when Darth Vader chooses not to follow the dark side. Episode I has nothing on it. NOTHING.
I enjoyed Tron, in my opinion it was pretty good. Hangover 1 was funny as hell, never saw the sequels, so I don't nothing about them. I liked X-men and matrix 3 too, so I think they were a little too harsh on that part or where to biased to judge others that well deserved a spot (Looking at you Db evolution and The spirit)

Dude, literally the only acceptable section of Episode VI was the beginning when they were on Totooine. and even that part was extremely contradictory to the whole jedi philosophy. Luke can force choke some pig men and mercenaries who aren't necessarily evil but it puts him on the dark side if he assassinated the Emperor or Vader? what a load of shit. Episode I had the fucking Pod Race/Tatooine and Coruscant/Palpatine introduction. and a lot of the other parts were at least fun to look at and made decent sense. Episode VI's storyline was so retarded it boggles my mind to think that people actually like it.
I see a few "honorable mentions" that should have actually been in the list in place of Tron.

Airbender was definitely the worst. Don't get me wrong. Spider-man 3 for example was awful. But despite its awfulness I still kind of enjoyed it (even though some of that was laughing at the movie). I can't say that for the Last Airbender. It has no redeeming qualities.

But those unredeemable Hollywoody version was so awful, I can't watch them through to the end... whilst the others from this list is somewhat disappointing, I still manage to sit through (although I slept in the middle of Star Wars I, II, III, Terminator Salvation, Spidy 3, and Indy Jones IV 😴😴😴).

I still like Phantom Menace. Yes, I can understand the most obvious reasons why it's disliked (dialogue, Jar Jar Binks etc) but let us not forget that the Podrace is awesome, Liam Neeson and Ewan McGregor are really awesome and Duel of the Fates is F**KING AWESOME!
They're awesome actors, for sure, but my god were they wooden, personalityless & motivationless. That last duel with Darth Maul had no heart to it. It was just a mindless action scene. Why would the audience care if either side one? There were no stakes.
I found the duel one of the most underwhelming parts of the movie. But let's not forget that no movie with Natalie Portman in it can really be bad or boring ;)
TheSweetestCurse Agreed, that duel was awesome for the choreography, the music and the actors. We never really had a reason to dislike Maul, so it doesn´t feel like they´re fighting a bad guy. The only emotion in it is Obi-Wan when Qui-Gon dies.
By the way, would Qui-Gon´s death even be sad at all if it wasn´t for Ewan´s flawless acting?
Phantom Menace has its flaws, but I think it's the best of the prequel trilogy. Liam Neeson is a big reason for that, and I find Darth Maul to be quite an effective villain, precisely because he has a Terminator-like lack of dialogue which gives him more mystery.

Terminator Salvation was a pretty good movie. It had a few tie ins to the first and third movies. Though I think we could've seen a bit more of marcus's life before he was killed.
Also Revenge of the fallen was pretty good too. The new autobots and decepticons made it interesting. Plus the return of scorpinok. :)

Agreed. I was one of the many people who "didn't get" (quote from fanboys) Prometheus. I've since given it several tries, but no. It just keeps annoying me too much in too many ways; lines of dialogue and weird behavior.

I saw the movie before I saw the tv show, so I didn't know about it until it came out. That saved me the expense of waiting for it. The movies bad even if you haven't watched the show.

Never was a 'Star Wars' fan, but did like the second one of the first three, so gave thefirst of the ''prequels' a go. And it was rubbish, principally due to the awful acting. It seemed that the actors were used as 'fillers' between the set-pieces. Special effectys can make a film, but not exclusively.
The Godfather III was a great disappointment and not all the fault of the misasting of Sophia Copella. It crawled by, and the nuanced plot didn't strike me as all tha interesting.
