The writers weren't "under pressure to conclude GoT", HBO literally said they could have full 10 episode seasons for season 7 and 8 if that's what it needed. D&D just decided they needed it to wrap up quick because they wanted to jump to the Star Wars gig they had lined up (that Disney then pulled after the shit-show GoT ending). They had all the time they needed to conclude it better, they had the option to collab with GRRM to get better dialogue, they chose not to and destroyed something that people fell over themselves to watch week after week. Ego was the death of GoT.
Everyone was making money. HBO would be fools not to acquiesce. Those two guys sunk the ship. Maybe there could be a redux of those final seasons someday but some studio will probably want to do the entire show over again.
Ian McElhinney, who played Barristan Selmy, was the most outspoken about his character's death in GoT. Unlike others, he confronted the showrunners about it, which made them even more determined to kill off his character. Being a fan of the books, McElhinney knew that Barristan becomes a POV character in *A Dance with Dragons*, so he was understandably frustrated by their decision. Honestly, I can't stand D&D for what they did.
Plus his character died for literally no reason other than for shock value. Barristan deserved a way better death than to get stabbed by random dudes in masks, especially since his book character was so important. His death didn't even have a significant impact on the story. It was around that point I really started questioning the show.
Not gonna lie I hated how they killed green arrow early in the first freaking episode of crisis and look I’m sorry but I also hated how he became the specter like in the final season too.
Really? You left out the actor who played Carl in TWD? He was so very sad and said at the time that he was absolutely blindsided when he found out. Everyone knew the show had no plot armor, anyone could go at anytime. However, he had spent half his childhood on the show, I can understand him being gobsmacked when it happened.
@@JT--XL365 That isnt the story he told right after it happened. Andrew Lincoln asked to be written out as did the actress who played Michonne. It was so nice of them to come back for that limited series that wrapped up their storyline. A little farfetched, but so are zombies, so its all good.
That's exactly the opposite of what happened. He wanted to be killed, because in his own words "I couldn't pull off the things they wanted me to do acting wise". Acting wasn't what he really wanted to do anyway.

the problem with game of thrones was the characters can only be as clever as the writers. once the source material from GRRM depleted, they weren't able to write the previously smart characters in a way that they maintained their cleverness. Varys shouldn't have gone the way he did.
I'm pretty sure the Walking dead was pretty bad about not telling the actors how many episodes they would do and would often surprise the cast by killing them off and that being it. The contracts are not often written to favor the actors.
I thought Varys’ death was stupid. It made absolutely no sense as, if I remember correctly, Sansa told Tyrion who then told Varys. I don’t quite recall who he told. But it was also showing how psycho Danny was becoming. She couldn’t kill Sansa or Tyrion as she’d be screwed.
Sure they were mad but were they "Pay out of pocket for the rights to make a spinoff that let the adventures continue" mad? No? Then Jensen Ackles should be on this list Honestly I could give you another five without issue
I liked stringer bells death. Most main character have so much plot armor that walk around in iron man suits. It made him feel human that he got killed because wrong place wrong time.
funny enough he was killed because brother mouzone had plot armor(omar was supposed to kill him right away) and he would have died anyway, since Avon would probably suspect he was the one who snitched to bunny
Yeah, it still annoys me that they killed Varys in GoT. He was so brilliant in the role and should have stuck around til the end. BUT, as we all know. D&D phoned in the last two seasons so hard it's not even funny.
Herschal's youngest daughter Beth from TWD. Her death was stupid, pointless and she was just getting interesting then, Bang, she's gone. I stopped watching after that.
The last 2 decades shows that character deaths r in 99% nothing but lazy writing driven by the ill-minded obssesion of giving plot twist and Drama into a storyline to give substance, but that's very rarely the case. Usually it only shows there wasn't a idea i the 1st place to give a story substance or let a character disappear in a more interesting way. Most of the time it kills option to continue interesting storys and explore them
To capitalists money is a tool they use to create real wealth increasing their businesses value. Those whose objective is to make money are not capitalists. Adam Smith, the father of capitalism, contrasted these people with mercantilists whose objective was the collection of money. Smith, like Marx, felt that unlike factories, buildings, tools, food, clothes and other real things money had no intrinsic value. It was just something that people believed had value so they could use it as a medium of exchange rather than resorting to barter. Marx felt that money was unnecessary, goods could just be collected and handed out as needed. Both Smith and Marx disliked these rich as they failed to build real wealth.

Ed Harris hated how William (Man in Black) was treated in the later seasons of Westworld.
half of these are completely understandable to why they would upset the actors and viewers
I think we should leave Game of Thrones examples out here. Otherwise you could fill each "Worst 10 X in TV" list just with that show.
with GoT you could have written one single point.... "everybody who died in S08"
Who the hell remembers that minor character in Walking Dead?

Specially since he’s like the main character of the comics after Rick.
chandler riggs wanted to leave twd thats why he was killed off. riggs even said this is a few interviews, he wanted to move on from the show

Same. T-dog was a good character. It was a mistake to kill him off.

Good to know that Lena Headey was just as pissed about Cersei's death as the rest of us.
Amell wasnt angry over his characters death, he was angry with how the death scene was filmed
