The Ink Spots - When The Swallows Come Back To Capistrano
Вставка
- Опубліковано 21 лип 2010
- The Ink Spots were a popular vocal group that helped define the musical genre that led to rhythm & blues and rock and roll,
and the subgenre doo-wop. They and the Mills Brothers, another black vocal group of the 1930s and 1940s, gained much acceptance in the white community.
I dedicate this song to my great grandpa Paul Anacleto Arbiso. He rang the old historical mission bells for 70 years welcoming the Swallows back to San Juan Capistrano every March 19th, St. Joseph's Day.
The good old days of San Juan...
I miss you & love you grandpa ❤🔔🔔❤
Cool.. This story is from my childhood in the 1950's. Now I have your grandfather's name to add to my story. Thank you, Orlin
Once there was beautiful music and amazing musicians. Songs like this fill me with so much happiness.
My dad used to sing these at the weekend....I loved 'em and still do at 62!
Played this at my parents' funeral last Wednesday. Was my Mother's favourite song. Will cherish it until my time comes. RIP Mum and Dad
Jesus, you lost both at once?
They abandoned this channel, now it's 2024 nostalgia, right?
as a 13 year old boy in 2021, no music can compare to this, I wish we had more music like this.
You have a fabulous wonderland of music ahead of you, young man!! How privileged you are you will only fully realise over time!! The pendulum must inevitable swing as what poses for "music" these days, banging trashcan lids and crotch groping, inane grunts and cussing will, hopefully, finally fizzle out but while you have the vast treasure chest of choices, keep enjoying what resonates with your soul, not fashion! 🥰
@@garthl2954 what
true, no modern music can compare to this. no ass, tits, n-word and sum other shits. just pure message within the song
@@sjhssjjsjs5884 Did they hurt your feelings by trashing today's trash?
Respect! I was about your age when I discovered this music and there is absolutely nothing like it
these guys are as timeless at the beetles , so beautiful
the beetles lol 🪲
Beatles. And these guys are great, but not on The Beatles' level.
Sends shivers up my spine.
If you close your eyes and listen to this song, it will be endless happiness.
Una palabra: Hermoso!!!

Just so nice !
Fallout made me appreciate these guys
Lol me to
The game had a huge impact over my musical taste.
I got this from the mash up pack in Minecraft. So almost the same.
Fallout?
@@v-town1980yea what's fallout
amazing
Infinitely thankful to Bioshock and Fallout for putting me on to music from the early 20th century.
Same here. I don’t know where I’d be without those early influences.
@@malcus8485 It's music that a lot of us younger folks wouldn't have really known about, especially if you're not American
Too bad your generation mostly creates shite.
Beautiful
I LOVE THE INK SPOTS
2021, still here....enjoying them.
Why do you people always bring up years? Great music is great music.
Fallout is the reason I listen to the ink spots
It's sweet how a human being can put together, with intention scenes from a video game and a song, to make such a great impact on people.
Zachary Wills SAME here I'm only 10 and I love this music
That's how I found out that Cole Porter did his own version of "Anything Goes".
My dad's childhood is the reason I know these guys.
Best lazy music. Just looking out my window. Maybe I'll have a cup of tea..
word brother!
Jamie Holmes sounds perfect
Amen
Maravilhoso.
en 2018 jugando fallout 3 descubri the ink spots y aun en 2024 me sigue encantando su musica y su dicografia. ahora me encuentro practicando guitarra con sus canciones.
So beautiful
Wonderfull
I was starting to get bent out some with all the references to some video game, but then I realized it was MST3K's "Terror From the Year 5000" that turned me on to them, lol. Welcome to the 1950s' good music friends.
Bobo sang this as he made a brain sandwich.
Come back to me...
i find it hillarious that they play the same intro every fricking time, imagine what its like listening to their greatest hits album XD
When the swallows come back to Capistrano
That's the day you promised to come back to me
When you whispered, "Farewell", in Capistrano
Twas the day the swallow flew out to sea
All the mission bells will ring
The chapel choir will sing
The happiness you'll bring
Will live in my memory
When the swallows come back to Capistrano
That's the day I pray that you'll come back to me
All the mission bells will ring
The chapel choir will sing
The happiness you'll bring
Will live in my memory
When the swallows come back to Capistrano
That's the day I pray that you'll come back to me
Yup, those are the lyrics.
@@v-town1980hey man these old songs can be hard to hear sometimes :(
Yea, it is the middle of the road and I may be an evil woman. Worked in a joint and the ink spots were (supposedly) playing there. Take it from a _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _.
My parents' anniversary.
Bravo!👌👌👌
Good for lovers of Italy and It. Food, mmmm

Bugs Bunny's favourite song.
With a Brooklyn accent.
Every year om March 19th from 1776 until 1985, when they moved to the Mission Viejo Mall, easier to catch bugs at night
Perfect song to sing while making a midnight sandwich out of a highly advanced alien's brain
From the intro, I thought maybe I was confused and they were a country group!
2024:D
Tha brothers make me feel❤❤❤❤❤ proud 🦚 to be an AMERICAN!!!!!!!❤❤❤❤❤❤😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
As a sperm cell in 2023, this is a masterpeice
Thought that these guys were white for years.
They sing so reservedly compared to now.
Ben Baker How?! Apart from their voices giving it away, surely the name "Ink Spots" is a clue.
***** Explain yourself!
***** I'm not sure who named them: ie whether they named themselves with a sense of irony given the racist atmosphere those days or whether someone else named them. But it obviously has to do with their skin colour. Regardless; I love them and their musical performances!

@@aristotle358 Group/artist's names mean nothing. Look at Barry White; think he was white? Use your head, boy!

All the ink spots song start the same! 😂😂😂
so what!?! They were a fabulous group.
They did that so it's easier for them to stay on tempo
And that's what the public wanted, and it made them rich men, which is pretty awesome.
Lol. Look how salty you people get when the original comment simply pointed it out. It is funny. "Dum da dum da dum da dum..."

ah, and in a few days there coming back
Why does someone dislike this if you don't like it DON'T WATCH IT
This song is great
Don't tell people what to watch or comment, lib git!
Far more beautiful than Bugs Bunny's version.
Nah.

Efe aydal 😂
They do the original version of whispering glass better than the ain't half hot mum cover version
they gained acceptanc in the white community e!! Ha ha ha that 's funny,bc i think the white community got a musical education ,learning more than a thing or two just by hearing this awesome group
We had our own great music and genres, you bigot! And whites make/made the best music, films, cars, inventions etc. Blacks certainly learned a thing or two from whites' ingenuity. Lol.
Plus, the Beatles blow all of Motown out of the water!
Lel
some fallout shit going on here
F that crap.
Anyone who is reading this i just wanna let you know That Jesus loves you repent and you are the most wonderful person ever
