Sounds like an opera. Bill Kenny had a voice like an angel. Unfortunately, he is almost completely forgotten these days, or rather his influence on music. Although many people know him and the Ink spots through Fallout, hardly anyone knows that Bill Kenny was the role model of Elvis and many others.
This man sat the stage for EVERYONE not just Elvis. Clyde McPhatter, Eddie Kendricks, Jackie Wilson, Gene Mumford, Sonny Til, Tony Williams, Jimmy Beaumont, and Earl “Speedo” Carroll. That’s even. Cutting the list short! A lot of popular R&B and Doo Wop and even early rock stars took their delivery from Mr. Kenny.
My uncle Richard graduated high school in 1939. He sang snatches of The Ink Spots' songs the rest of his life. You could hear the reverence in his voice when he spoke of them.
Bill Kenny singing lead along with Ink Spots are from Philly. And are thought of as one of the earliest vocal groups that lead to the great sound of the vocal groups from the late 40’s and through the 50’s. This song…just pure excellence ❤️ Thanks for posting 👍
When I was a boy … my mom’s favorite recordings .,. I learned to love music listening to these beautiful voices. Listing and watching takes me back 75 years. Thank you.
My late Uncle, my late Mother's eldest brother, absolutely loved this song by the Ink Spots! I was a little girl and fondly remember his playing this song over and over back in the day!
I can easily cry and smile at the same time each time i ear this song , Bill was phenomenal, not gonna lie im 37 i discovered the ink spot in fallout game but no matter the way i discovered it , what matter is my dedication to this guy now , made me listen all kind of jazz and blues from this period, but damn he is so good ❤
Amazing group! I love Bill Kenny's voice. My mom had most of their records during the war years in early 1940s. Everyone in my family had a favorite Ink Spot record. Mine was "We Three."
I'm 83 and my Mom loved the Ink Spots. I remember hearing this one many times. I learned it and used to sing along with it...I can still see her smiling at me☺
Thank you for sharing this and from the bottom of my heart UA-cam for inventing a time machine that I can step in and disappear for hours and be so close to geniuses and talents gone as to touch them. What an amazing escape. Dress up and go from my armchair❤ Bill Kenny and the Ink Spots are beloveds.
Yes sir. The Ink Spots and Mills Bros. laid the foundation. The Dominoes, Orioles, and Ravens took it to new places. While groups like The Teenagers and Belmonts helped it all blur into rock n roll.
I only know these guys cuz fallout….thanks fallout ironically enough music to an iconic game that holds a strong spot in my life was made by my own..thanks Ink Spts
Never saw this goof of a vid - love this song, but the bass and tenor are mouthing the other's part. The tall guy is the bass. The short guy with the dog is the actual tenor.
The lead vocalist exudes pure unadulterated talent. What a voice.
Bill kenny
There's no one quite like Bill Kenny.
@@fuzzynumbers3280 Yes he had a very unique voice
I was just coming to say: his voice was truly beautiful. The Ink Spots are really a delight to listen to
Always dolce. I know of no other very high tenor who has a vibrato of the depth and steadiness of his.

Literally stole the words from my mouth
Well stated. We still see the other groups like The Platters and The Five Satins
Us fallout fans will never forget

I know this song from Sanford and son.

I met them as a child in the early 70s. Needless to say, I had no idea who they were but I remember my grandfather being really excited to see them.
SING IT, FRED SANFORD.

@@Ultranothing It wouldn't be, this song is magic.
@@AmphetaminisedGavid No, it is. You just can't tell because you're deranged. It's a good song! But twice a day, for years? That's not normal.
I could. If I were on a space flight departing Earth and could take only ten songs, this would be one
@@Ultranothing deranged? The bass part is magical, the harmony in this song is magical.
