Alice may not have been a Brady by blood, but she sure as hell was one regardless. She showed love to all of the kids, and Mike and Carol. She even went on trips with the Brady's and it's obvious that they love her as much she loves them. True MVP, that Alice.
Damn good actress, that Ann B Davis. Seeing these little snippets is so comforting,,,, a hug from childhood. The show seemed hokey at times, but watching these I find it much more quality than I recall.
I agree with you there. Alice Nelson wore a uniform but she was like a member of the family. She was around the boys from the time Bobby was born and around the girls from the time that they were really young. I bet that a lot of people wish that they had a housekeeper like her
I agree. They were on their way to the airport to pick up his father and I remember her saying "We'll discuss this both before and after we pick up your father!" I sorta felt sorry for Tommy.
@@alondralabute2310 yes, I felt bad for Tommy. The mother was so mean to Greg, and very condescending to Carol, so it was good that she got put in her place.
I agree I love when the lady comes in what’s going on and she did apologize to Greg and she said wait till your father gets home. Holy smokes. I’m so glad I never smoked.
Uh, this is the Brady Bunch. In this era parents were worried that their kids would run away and join a cult with free love, and the girls would get pregnant. Or the boys would get drafted to Vietnam. Don’t think for one second that life was some kind of cakewalk then.
Greg friend, Tommy, was portrayed by Craig Huxley. He appeared in two classic Star Trek episodes, Operation Annihilate (as Kirks nephew), and And the Children Shall Lead. Later on, the former child actor, famed for patenting his own version and making extensive use of the "BLASTER BEAM", a unique musical instrument consisting of an 18-foot metal beam strung with 2 dozen strings and massive pickups. Played by striking the wires with metallic objects, mallets, and even artillery shell casings. It was first heard in Star Trek: The Motion Picture (1979) as the distinctive metallic bass notes associated with "V'ger". It went on to become a staple of science fiction film scores in the 1980s through 2020 (such as 2010 (1984) and Alien³ (1992)). HIs music instruments were also heard in Star Trek: First Contact. He is the father of singer/actress/Co-Producer Fiona Huxley.
Similarly to an episode of Good Times where J.J. elopes with his girlfriend. Thelma and J.J.'s fiancee have the same-looking purse and get swapped accidentally. They find out that the girl is hooked on heroin.
And also "Archie Bunker's Place" when Archie found a joint in the laundry basket. His older niece, Billie, realizing that it belonged to the younger niece, Stephanie, took the blame, and Archie ordered her to move out of the house. Stephanie never actually smoked any pot, but her friends gave a joint to her and urged her to try it. Just as Billie was set to leave, Stephanie fessed up. This tends to be a common (and often overdone) theme in television shows.
In the real world, Greg’s friend would never let Greg grab his arm like that to tell Greg’s folks what happened. He would said “get the hell off of me I’m out. Tell your folks whatever u want!” Then again, it’s TV. Ha.
Not really, his teammate was already on the way to exchange jackets, if Alice said nothing, Greg would of found out the truth anyway with the door knock.
What guy his age in the early 1970s was going to a malt shop? Those were a very 1950s thing. I don't remember any existing anymore by then, except a few nostalgia places. Alice and the parents---they might have been of the generation to hang out in one as teens.
@@mk202 ... I just can't imagine writers so out of touch with teenager hangouts in '70-'71. Did they get confused and think they were writing a Happy Days script.... I wonder if the Real Brady Bros ever analyzed this episode and mentioned the malt shop part.
Alice would have made a great Public Defender. Also Greg didn't finish his Milk. It was synonomous on the Show the same way Tea was Synonomous on Degrassi. On UK Soaps whenever there's a problem they solve it with a Cup Of Tea. It kind of reminds me of when Theo Huxtable had a Marijuana Joint in his Textbook and he made the young man come home to admit that Theo was innocent.
When Greg's friend Tommy confessed to his mother that the cigarettes were his, and not Greg's, and she told him that he was in trouble plenty, it never was revealed whether his punishment was that he could not play in the band the night of the High School Dance. Maybe Tommy's parents were so angry with him, they killed him, like a lot of parents threaten to do when they get angry enough.
I love these days when parents are very worried about the kids smoking cigarettes. Patterns on concerned anymore they don't even care they smoke marijuana now and the parents smoke the marijuana with the kids. Ironically, Tommy's mother was the head of an anti-smoking group, in which she disqualified Carol as a member after Greg was found in possession of the Tommy's cigarettes.

Anne B Davis did rock on this show...I can see why Sherwood Schwartz paid the big bucks for her.
We all know 'Kay' couldn't fill Alice's shoes. She was just a maid.

The malt shop….. dance practice…..a mystery…… this was like a “Scooby-doo” episode.
The cosby show did almost the exact same episode but it was a marijuana cigarette found in Theo's Geometry book

They had one in Staunton VA until the 1990's.
The writers were kids in the 40s
Sherwood Schwartz was insistent on keeping the show wholesome and innocent, which resulted in the show's incongruity with the years it was filmed in.
