This was such a classic show having a great brother sister hanging out with your family. I remember camping going to Rhode Island going to the fares and going to the flea markets just wonderful time now mid 50s got a good life very happy but can I be honest there was something about being a kid that was just so much fun, and I’ll always treasure the memories
I love how Peter's brothers and sisters covered up for him, taking the blame for something they didn't do so he wouldn't have to miss out on his camping trip. Even though they did hide the truth, they did it for a good reason, so at least their hearts were in the right place.
Too bad this didn't happen 2 episodes earlier. Cindy would have just tattled on him, the two of them would have gotten in trouble and everybody else would have been fine.
Uh oh, Peter, don’t waste water. I thought we, as a generation, were taught to turn off the faucet while brushing. I’ll bet Mr. and Mrs. Brady already know what’s up with the vase, and will impart some good life lessons for us all once Peter submits “the punishments”. I miss this show and it’s moral code and innocence. Take care and thanks for sharing.
I broke my Mum's vase once while she was out. I went straight to the shop and bought her a new one exactly the same and replaced it. I told her once she got him that I broke it and bought a new one. No issues at all!
Thanks for sharing that great post and you absolutely have to love the music score with the Darth Vader boom boom boom when they walk in I’ll tell you I was only a euro in the show premiered in 69 but I watch it in syndication when I was about 14 soon as I got home and ninth grade watched every episode. What a great show And I will tell you the house they lived in was incredible but this little Rinky dink room for six kids was ridiculous. That ridiculous TV they should’ve redesigned the house lol
I don’t remember the exact details of this episode, but from what I do remember, all three boys were playing ball in the house, and Peter was the last one in control before it went flying and broke Carol’s vase. So technically, I’d say Greg, Peter, and Bobby were responsible.
When Mike said, "One of you broke your mother's vase.", he was looking at Peter. But when he said, " Five of you claim you did it.", he was looking more toward the other kids.
Reminds me of the time I was playing in the back of an alley with my friend, Ray. We were about 8 years old and started chucking this old broken candlestick back and forth. It got me in the eye and I had a mark. Ray was immediately concerned about not being allowed to go to a sleepover he had planned, so I lied and told everyone I bumped into something. LOL sounds like an abusive relationship but it was truly an accident
Not letting a kid go on his first camping trip because he broke a vase seems harsh and yes, he didn't fess up but if i was his parent I would let him go but when he got back, I would ground him for three weeks or so because of the lying.
I’m afraid Peter admitted that he broke the kids’ mother’s favorite vase. Just like a few episodes later, Jan admitted that she let Myron the mouse-as Greg’s science project-out as a prank.
BTW, I broke the vase. I accidently knocked it off the table with my elbow while typing this comment. So all you kids, including Peter are off the hook.
Peter should have been wise to his parents' psychological games...its the same games they play in many episodes...(Harvey Klinger, Greg's grounding, etc..)
Women did NOT work back then and to be truthful, they shouldn't have to work today. . . . It is the man's job to provide the money for entire household, but with prices and cost of living so high, women have no choice. 1 Timothy 2:12 But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence.. . . That means a woman shouldn't teach (of course) or have authority over any man. . . . .. . BUT to me that's one of the verses where the bible is wrong. . . . . There are a lot of jobs out there where women are managers/supervisors, etc and men work beneath them. . . . . . That's ok, as long as they don't let it go to their head. . . Yes, they must follow the rules and laws. . . .
Not so much Mike but Carol made a big whoop de do over it. She often got too dramatic over things. Greg having a job, or greg playing sports, or the anniversary present. Then when Robert Reed did the speech as William Reynolds in Roots, he bought The Mike Brady Syndrome when he sternly lectured Toby & Bell.
Much ado about a stupid tchotchke vase! Besides, all three boys were playing ball and should have been punished equally. Not allowing Peter to go camping while the other two got a less meaningful punishment would have been unfair.
Steve Douglas addressed Chip and Ernie about playing ball in the house, when their football hit Dodie. She wasn't hurt but her dad told her the next time, throw the football back to the boys, but outside. That was taken from My Three Sons and it resonated with The Brady Bunch, too!!!
That hideous fake wood paneling, all the rage back then; and haunting me today, nearly 50 years later. You can't paint over it (looks like crap), you can't fill in the grooves, because they'll crack 6 months later, wallpapering over the panels is just trading one problem for another. So you have to yank them out, get rid of the glue, and then drywall over the original drywall. It's not fun, but has to be done.
I love how they have like 10 musical tropes they keep using over again
“I think we’re all going to get it now”😂😂
Mom always said don’t play ball in the house.😅
yes, but my Dad, my brother and I didn't listen. . . We never broke anything though
The spoofs of this movie, are as iconic as the series.
Dad did overthink his speeches, and the kids were incredibly understanding of punishments…..
I feel guilty when I break something and I confess, plus I am honest about it. I wouldn't let anyone take the blame.
Quite a fancy robe Carol has on.
Isn’t it though?

“This court is in recess”😂

TV show on doing live in concert with Brady bunch TV show
Speaking of that Cindy=Tattletale episode, Mike Brady was wearing the exact same shirt! 😆
Now what happens when you tattle…
Uh oh, Peter, don’t waste water. I thought we, as a generation, were taught to turn off the faucet while brushing.

Big fan of the Brady bunch Pluto runs seasons 1 thru 3 me tv plays 2 episodes of the Brady bunch seasons 1 thru 5 12 pm to 1 pm 😊
I know!! Hearing that water just run and run…😬
1:50 I bet Pete is feeling like Benedick Arnald
Happy birthday Christopher Knight aka Peter
"..THUD...." (0:14)...Jan's reaction showed she walked her OWN path! ...ha-HAAA!
She was by far the best actress on the show, IMO.
I always liked when she said "THUD" before falling back in the chair too
Peter was always the cool one
So was Jan ❤

If this was set 50 years later, Peter could have punished them by making them watch "The View". 😂
LMAO. 😂
Now that's a harsh punishment. 😂
Or being forced to vote for Trump.
@@bicknell67 Or have to put on Vance's eyeliner.
So sweet of Peter's siblings to cover up for him.
I made an identical comment with the last video from this episode

Love Robert Reed...

There were actually 2 episodes that were similar. A vase and a lamp I do believe.
Not letting a kid go on his first camping trip because he broke a vase seems harsh and yes, he didn't fess up but if i was his parent I would let him go but when he got back, I would ground him for three weeks or so because of the lying.
Haha I liked the “punishments” two of the sisters give them selfs. I can’t remember the other ones
Themselves.
I’m afraid Peter admitted that he broke the kids’ mother’s favorite vase. Just like a few episodes later, Jan admitted that she let Myron the mouse-as Greg’s science project-out as a prank.

bobby was always my favorite
Peter broke the vase
You need to use glue engineered to work on ceramics.
3:04 One of the few times we see the Brady's tub and shower. But where's their shower curtain?
Their toilet is never shown.
It's a vase! Get Over It!
Mike & Carol: a little bit sadistic
My brother's and sisters would've told on me... and dad would've beat the snot out of me.... that was my world lol.
Peter should have been wise to his parents' psychological games...its the same games they play in many episodes...(Harvey Klinger, Greg's grounding, etc..)
And now you wonder why half the kids want to go out and kill people? Really?
I would be sus of the one who didn’t confess
Mrs Brady needed a JOB!!!!
Florence Henderson actually felt that way. I saw an interview with her where she said that she wished they had done more with her character.
She spent her time fixing her hair, makeup and selecting her wardrobe. Tough life Carol.....😮

This is all a little cruel. I think Mike and Carol are over-playing their hand here...
No sound.
Yea there is. Your volume up on your pc & video?
There is sound
Cindy was right lol
Peter should have kept his mouth shut

I would have snitched on Peter right away.
Scat? Isn’t that bear droppings?
Dinner vase
Beavis broke it!

Did Brady bunch always have a laugh track? This episode I swear there wasn’t one.
Thud
