    Hi there and welcome to my channel! My name is Rachel Tintle and I am the owner and designer behind "The Creative Siren"

    Just to confirm... you didn't use any glue to adhere the clay to the cup? (Except for the seashell)

    Niceeeee....can I do that with a non bake foam clay?

    • @TheCreativeSiren
      @TheCreativeSiren  Рік тому

      You could, but if I'm honest, it probably won't hold up as well. Air dry clay and foam clay tend to shrink and get brittle over time.

    @TheCreativeSiren, what kind of epoxy should I use

    • @TheCreativeSiren

      There are plenty of options out there, but if you're in a pinch, Michaels has a great one you can grab on the fly, too. 💜

    Hi! I wanted to ask if there are alternatives to using epoxy resin to seal it?

    • @TheCreativeSiren
      @TheCreativeSiren  Рік тому

      Yes you can. You can use "Crystalac" as a good alternative

  • @angiealbertson

    Silly question, but did you bake this on a rack? And do you bake it right side up or upside down?

    • @TheCreativeSiren
      @TheCreativeSiren  2 роки тому +1

      Great question. I like to bake in a glass Pyrex casserole dish. And if I remember correctly, I believe I baked this one upside down. Hope this helps 💜

    Got one more quesh... when do you remove the tape from the cup? like when its spinning do you leave it on for a certain number of hours?

    • @TheCreativeSiren

      I usually remove my tape right after I finish applying my epoxy

    do you bake it your oven or do you have separate oven for clay?

    • @TheCreativeSiren
      @TheCreativeSiren  2 роки тому +2

      I bake it in my regular oven. Polymer clay is non toxic

  • @sexiibabe67
    @sexiibabe67 2 роки тому

    Do you cook your clay on the cup to make it hard or do you just let it dry then paint?? Im curious ive always wanted to make one of these but wasn't sure how it works. My fear is having it crack

    • @TheCreativeSiren
      @TheCreativeSiren  2 роки тому

      Polymer clay won't cure unless it's baked in the oven per the instructions on the label (every brand has different baking instructions). Don't worry too much about cracking. Polymer clay is pretty resilient. Just be sure you don't have any air bubbles trapped in your clay and that it's conditioned well. And if it does crack, there are ways to fix it. You've got this 💜

    • @TheCreativeSiren

      Unfortunately, there is a bit of a clay shortage due to covid. I usually have a little luck finding the regular sculpey (which is great for anyone just starting their polymer clay journey because it's softer) at any craft store or even Walmart. Hope this helps 💜
