Thank you so much for this beautiful step by step process!!! I am happy to say I finally made my first tumbler and followed this video. I did half book have original style black candle and I love it!!!
We're only putting the clay pieces in the oven right?? I know this is a stupid question but I don't want to put a stainless steel cup in my oven if I'm not supposed to lol! Thank you so much for sharing this WHOLE tutorial. I would never have had the courage to try this myself. Your steps are great! I like tutorials that take their time to teach others. Lately I've noticed that the tutorials out there have already been filmed, the voice overs are being done (which is fine) but the creators talk too fast and people who are just starting out are going to find it difficult to follow it not only because they are talking too fast but newbies are not going to understand what some of the steps are confusing to them because they're not going understand what they mean. I like it when someone takes their time to explain so I understand what is being done. Thank you so much again.......I subscribed!
Thank you so much for your kind words. I'm really glad you enjoyed the video. 💜 The bare stainless steel tumbler with the clay pieces goes into the oven. That way, the clay retains the shape of the tumbler when it's cooled. Makes it easier to add later after you've done the other details to the cup 🥰
Hi there. So I had a question. I was so excited to make my first tumbler, I followed everything and it turned out stunning! Nice and shiny after it dried. I just hand washed it in cold water and when it dried it became foggy. When I wipe it clean it shines but the moment it dries it goes back to this cloudy state. I want to cry. Is there a reason for this? Any way to fix it? Thank you!
Hmmm, that's definitely odd. I'm wondering if maybe the epoxy wasn't fully cured or maybe it cured incorrectly. I honestly can't be sure what the problem might be without seeing it. I'm so sorry that happened though. I can fully understand how frustrating and heartbreaking that was.
I was not brave enough to try this process last year but, I've crumbled up several bags and started my prep for this weekend LOL Your work is awesome!!
@@jacpace7611 I apologize, I didn't initially see what tutorial you were commenting on. For the book cup you will need to bake the pieces onto the cup so that they retain the curve of the cup. After baking, you can remove, paint, than glue them back on. Hope that helps 💜💜
Thank you! ❤ Normally yes, as you would just bake your pieces separately and then apply them on the glittered tumbler later but for this one it might prove to be a little more difficult. I suppose you could always forgo the bag and do glitter instead.
You definitely could. Just know that air dry clay can be a little finicky and super fragile. Just be sure to allow your clay to dry slowly or can crack. 💜
Hi I just watched the final outcome 2 videos in one I guess? Again so very cool!. Now I always thought/heard it was Christmas in July. In fact a very cool bar and restaurant the bar was totally separate so you can crank up the music where I was the bartender we would always have Christmas in July along with the tree the bar was decorated you had to dress in 🎄 colors 😂 huge weekend party! Are you saying they changed it to Halloween in july?

@@clayordie What temperature do you use?? I'm ordering the sculpty clay you have listed too. Do I put it in parchment paper? or foil paper??

I love your energy
I am not even a full minute in and I love your energy...can't wait to see the video.
Great tutorial! I am just starting with cups and I am fascinated by the possibilities!
Thank you thank you for this video I need this cup in my life
This is amazing 🤩 love it!
I like the design. But quick question...How much does it cost for the licensing to make and sell the trademarked "Book". And who do I contact? Disney?
Do you bake the cup with the clay on it or remove the clay and bake it?
It totally depends on the design. I've done it both ways.
@@clayordie I am doing your Hocus Pocus book and wasn't sure about those.

@@clayordie okay thank you!!!!
I Love this!! Do you know if you can add glitter first underneath the clay? or if there is a way?

@@clayordie Could you do mod podge glitter, add your clay piece and then bake? or would that have any affect on the glitter and mod podge?
Love this video!!! You should try next 3D oogie boogie
You are so freaking good... I love it so much.
Thank you so so much! 💜🥰
Awesome love your work !!
Thank you so much! 🥰
Yayyyyyy!
🥰🥰
Spooky season!!! My favorite!
What kind of clay are you using
When you stick it in the oven do you stick it with the Tumblr or do you remove the clay from the Tumblr and then stick it in the oven
I put the whole thing in the oven. It helps maintain the shape of the tumbler as the clay cures. 💜
@@clayordie thank you ! :)
I CANT WAIT to try this! Thank you SOOO much!
I want to make this so bad! Love it! Could I use air dry clay?

@@clayordie thank you!!
Did you bake the first piece off the tumbler? Because I didn’t see it later on video. AND I love this I’m going to try to make this! Thank you
yes, I did. I baked it separately from the other pieces.
