My premo clay says to bake at 275°f for a minimum of 30 minutes.. should I follow the directions so that it's fully baked? (I usually bake my clay things for an hour 😅 but ofc I've never done a tumbler before!) Maybe just do like u say as far as putting it in a cool oven and allowing it to cool off in there as well? I just worry that the clay won't be fully baked 🥺 This is amazing news to me btw! I am rly excited to try something like this so tysvvm!! 🥰🥰 I will remember not to use spray paint before the oven!! 😊💕
I would follow the directions of the clay package. I do typically bake mine at 265° for an hour with an internal thermometer to make sure my oven doesn’t spike. I add the tumbler in a cool over to help prevent the seal on the tumbler from popping. It’s not going in an over that is such a drastic temperature. :)
I don’t think yeti states not to ‘bake’ their tumblers BUT I have never broken a seal due to heat. I bake a lot when I work with clay. I will typically put the tumbler in, turn the oven on, bake items, cool oven then remove the items- that way everything heats up and cools together so that a drastic temp change won’t cause the seal to break. Hope that make sense!
Thank you for this tutorial! I saw your tumbler in a group and immediately fell in love with it! I even ordered myself one from your Etsy 😂 can’t wait to get it! ❤️
Probably a stupid question, but When you did the hands and heart, did you just bake those and stick them on there? You already have epoxy on there so that's why I'm asking! TIA!
After you bake it will the clay still be soft or should it be hard? Working on my first one today and baked him for 20 minutes and he is still a bit soft.
If your clay is still soft, bake it longer. You can not burn polymer clay unless the temp gets too high. I sometimes bake my earrings for 45 minutes just to be sure!
I mentioned in the video that I wouldn’t do that again. I didn’t even think about it until after I baked it. So I bake the clay first and then paint it.
Yes please make a tutorial for the hands and heart. They were the main reason I came to this tutorial. I haven’t seen one with hands yet a d they are so cute!
What is the advantage of baking over air drying the clay? I made my first one with air dry clay as I thought you had to have a separate oven for baking (which I don’t have at this time), but it sounds like you baked yours in the kitchen oven, correct?
I discussed in the tutorial how I just spray painted it of habit and I would not bake it in the oven with spray paint. Add the clay first then paint it later or use an air dry clay. :)
Hello, when did you bake the nose and his hands and heart if you do not bake with the rest? Do you bake them separately then just glue them on? I hope you get this so I can make this :-)
For me, the hands and heart were a last minute decision, which is why they weren’t filmed. But yes, I bake separately and then you can attach them after the first layer of epoxy- this way you aren’t trying to glitter around the heart and hands. :)
Perfect!! Thank you so much!! I saw yours in a group and made one for myself!!! Still had to watch your tutorial and learned a lot! Still haven’t tackled the hands for mine!! Lol! I tried with the first one but they were a big hot mess!! Lol!
Thank you for this video. I have a couple questions if you don’t mind. On a 3D tumbler like this. Is there a trick to adding the epoxy, or just as normal is good? Also what glue do you use to adhere the nose? Thanks again for this
No trick, I just uses thin layers to be sure it doesn’t pool in certain places. I used liquid fusion but any glue should work bc it is really just meant to be held in place until you get epoxy over it. :)
So super adorable
I was looking specifically for the hands 😩
A D O R A B L E !

@@carolstewart1704 of course! Good luck!!
AWESOME!!!
Thanks!
Did you say you spray paint it white and add clay then put in oven? Or don’t put in oven with spray paint?
THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH DANIELLE!!!!
What does the heat do to the insulated tumbler? Yeti says not to bake theirs it will break the seal.

Super duper cute❤

Yes, I baked them separately and then attached them after - then epoxied again to seal everything in. :)

It’s okay to bake the spray painted tumbler?
I mentioned in the video that I wouldn’t do that again. I didn’t even think about it until after I baked it. So I bake the clay first and then paint it.
What tumbler do you use please?
This one is the 25oz wine glass from Hogg. :)

Great video!! Can they be baked in a convection oven rather than the oven?
Thanks! I don’t see why not but I would check the clay package just in case- they all have directions and recommended bake times. 😄
Did you spray paint the tumbler before hand? Is it safe to put that in the oven with paint on it?
I discussed in the tutorial how I just spray painted it of habit and I would not bake it in the oven with spray paint. Add the clay first then paint it later or use an air dry clay. :)
@@damfancycreations sorry I guess I missed that. Thank you!!

So, you do spray with a clear spray paint before you put the first two coats of epoxy?
Yes, to seal my glitter

@@kristylangley953 how fun! I will probably do a tut on a few others to show how I do certain things like the hands!
So do you just brush the epoxy and not need to use the turner?
I epoxy just like normal. :)
@@damfancycreations so on the turner?
@@robertaturney3749 yes, on the turner.
I need the hand tutorial.. So cute!!!
You make it look so easy!! Mine cracked and fell apart 🥺😢
Oh no! Sometimes you can piece him back together. Maybe your clay was over worked?
This is a great tutorial! Is there a reason you didn’t attach the nose and bake like you did with the rest of him? I hope that makes sense 😅
The nose is heavier and sometimes pieces can fall off when baking so I didn’t want it to fall off and land and bake funny :)
@@damfancycreations thank you! I actually just found that out the hard way 😂 thanks so much for the video!
@@bbailey523 oh no!!
Do you bake the nose as well?
Yes- all of the oven bake clay needs to be baked.
@@damfancycreations Awesome thank you so much. I loved your tutorial and I can’t wait to make one! 🤩

Do you have a link to the brushes you are using to paint on the tumbler?
Honestly, I have hundreds of brushes.usually pick up a few multi packs from Hobby Lobby or Michael’s each time I’m out!
How did you make the nose colored? You dont meantion that in the video.
The clay is already that color. Premo comes in several different color varieties. :)
@@damfancycreations Oh ok. Thanks.
Does putting it in the oven not damage the vacuum seal?
I don’t think so- it is only in there for a very short time. I haven’t had any issues with them.
Can I ask.where you got the hearts? I love this!
CCDIY!! I forgot to link those! They are under their ‘sprinkle’ category!
@@damfancycreations okay awesome thank you so much!!
What did you use for his nose?
Clay
I tried to check out your glitter, but it keeps telling me that there is no page.
My site is TheDrunkFlamingo.com :)
Do you wait to add the nose just so you have the beard completely covered with glitter? Great tutorial! Thank you for sharing!
Yes, and it’s easier to glitter the tumbler and THEN add the nose so the nose doesn’t get any glitter on it. :)
Thank you for this awesome video. Great detail! Curious about the lid. Do you decorate it? ☺️ Thanx again!
Your are welcome! I do not decorate the lid. Most of the options I offer for the gnome cups have a ‘sunken’ lid. :)
