  • I love sorcerers! They are my go to class to use for NPCs and here's why!

Flexible Casting is your road to more sorcery points, turning unused spell slots into points to then spend on the rest of your slots. Optimally, you'd spend all your slots and points every day then long rest in a safe location (and some spells help guarantee safety with no interruptions (but not necessarily no consequences) with that like Tiny Hut and Rope Trick).
You should be going "Oh, I had this many leftover slots when we long rested...I could have used those to quicken or heighten or twin etc."

That is a great way of thinking about it! I see exactly where you are coming from!

Do you have any tips for new players that are very anxious and scared of dying? I worry that I'm ruining the game for everyone because I end up playing to survive. (I rolled bad for my character creation)

I just started a campaign as a wild magic sorcerer. I've only played at level 1 so far but I'll be using flexible casting to get as many spell slots as possible and using mostly attack roll spells so that I can use tides of chaos as much as possible. I'm playing as a hexblood too so hex is also encouraging me to use attack roll spells.
Wild magic can be very strong if you choosse the right spell list for it, and make sure you are playing with a DM who's gonna have you roll whenever possible.
